Hello Tina, love the altered book, neutral is more difficult to go with than adding colour bits. I love colour so it is harder for me anyway. You are doing amazing with it! Love the pop of pink, it’s perfect. Thank you so much for sharing dear lady. Take care hugs ❤️🤗🙏
Hi. I think the first spread you did is so Gorgeous, 🤍🤍🤍 it! I think a pale color with Vintage is so pretty. You have made me fall in Love with Wax Seals!
These are beautiful pages! I’m so glad you chose pink! Don’t change who you are as a crafter! I’m not a huge color person but I love that you are!!! If you are feeling neutral go for it but if not add all your colors, lace & bling! I can’t wait to see more in your journal! I need to get better at hopping around in my journal!!! I’m a front to back crafter but what you say totally makes sense! 💜
I think the pink and pale coral are in the realms of neutrals…its only when you begin to throw in jewel tones …that it becomes something else. Pale blues, lilacs, grays, beiges, creams all go together beautifully xoxox
I personally feel that the pale pink fits in with the neutral look as it is soft enough that it fits in with the more natural colors, but just adds a softness and a hit of another neutrl shade. I dont think neutral has to be mono. xoxo Love all your work!!
I love all the interesting details in your journal & your intent to make parts available for someone to add to & use items you include to make it more special to another user. I would like to know what you are using to wrap the elastic lace around for your main closure? Also what did you use for the smaller closures on the small items in the back page pockets. Thank you for sharing. You are a talented journal designer!
Never attempted an altered book yet but think it is on my to do list soon. I am like you Tina, love colour and even though i have seen some beautiful neutral journals made I still would have to put a pop of colour in them. Love your tutorials and watch them every morning with a cup of tea. Thank you.
Absolutely love this! I have tons of vintage neutral ephemera, and am currently making a journal that is neutral with blush pink accents, because I just have to have that little pop of color too!
You picked my fave! The neutral ribbon with the pink wax. (Was I that loud? Could be....)😂 Also I like the tip of randomly picking pages for variety. Good thinking.
I saw your struggle of not managing to stick to neutral, I don’t think I could do it, I’d need just a pop of colour even though I adore black and off white and browns. You did amazingly …well done. Thank you xx😁💜
Lol I'm currently working on your last style of altered book/ring bound journal. Yes it's a lovely cream colour. Is glassine like greaseproof paper? Oh what a pretty ring 😍. Yes real vintage is so hoardable, not sure I would be strong enough to resist🙊. Neutral and minimalist is so hard lol 🙈. I would end up putting colour in but neutral looks lovely, I'm just pants at it 😄. You're right, follow your heart! Your muse will dictate your style. Lol there was 12d(pence) in a shilling. Problem is it looked like the 5p piece that came with decimalisation. Good start and you've managed to stay neutral too! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
So pritty alredy 😍Im trying to make one of your pices, the bellyband whit the long flap up, from a previos video. Cant remember seing you done it on video? Thats probebly why Im so shitty at it.. 😂😂😂😂 lots of love from arctic Norrway at 5.6 sun and wiiiind🙌 stay strong 💪❤🌼🌻🌺🏵🌹
Love the pages so far!!! Was wondering are you gluing book pages together and then painting them or just painting individual pages?? Thanks for sharing 😊
So jealous that plain house paint in Great Britain is so nice. Our house paint in the U.S. is latex-based and it’s sticky/goopy when dried & not suitable for journals at all. 😭😭😭
Absolutely stunning pages, Carol!!!!!!!
Beautiful! Love all of that delicious vintage ephemera!

Tina I one of your best fans I just adore your way of doing thing that you do I’m a 67 year old grandmother and I am fastly becoming a old groupie
Lol, thank you so much Mary xxx
Love this so far! Can’t wait to see the next episode
Personally, I think strategically placed pastel colors enhance the neutral look. Gorgeous! I'm like you, I Love lots of color!!!😊💜
Your style for an altered book is different. Love it. New rule: pastels are part of the neutral pallet.

I really love the neutrals! I need to do an all neutral project! But do whatever you feel is comfortable!🫶🏼 I also really love the painted pages!!

Your journal is looking so pretty already. I do like the neutral vintage look and I don't mind a little color with it,
Love this neutral vintage look , so different and beautifulxx
Love the pink just started a neutral book and I love the pale pink, you are so talented
This is absolutely beautiful Tina! Your neutral includes pinks and light corals…I was shouting to us the pink! 😂
Lol, thank you so much xx

I understand wanting to hoard and not use vintage lace. It's just so beautiful.
Loving this

My favorite beginners tutorial on altered books is at Crafty Irina’s
I love vintage :)

Very enjoyable ❤
Love the decorating on the pages, could you use cream acrylic paint on the pages instead of house paint???
Pink 😊
Yes, keep the neutral. ❤️
You picked my fave! The neutral ribbon with the pink wax. (Was I that loud? Could be....)😂 Also I like the tip of randomly picking pages for variety. Good thinking.
Haha, yep I must have heard you! 🤣 x

Fantastic craft book 📕 😊
Love this💕
❤️ TFS!
What about a black ribbon and the off white tannish seal ?
Oh that would have looked awesome xx
Your fun postcard is from 20th July 1950 😉🦋
Love your choices! Beautiful! How do you keep from burning your fingers from the hot glue? Is it a low temperature glue gun?
Thank you Linette. It’s not a low temperature glue gun, but it has a fine (well fine-ish) tip x
Color is best
Yes, I really find it challenging to not add colour xx
Love the pages so far!!! Was wondering are you gluing book pages together and then painting them or just painting individual pages?? Thanks for sharing 😊
Yes, gluing them together first xx
I just looked up the value of one shilling today and it’s 5 pence. 🇨🇦
Thank you for looking it up Gillian, I have no idea about old money xx
So jealous that plain house paint in Great Britain is so nice. Our house paint in the U.S. is latex-based and it’s sticky/goopy when dried & not suitable for journals at all. 😭😭😭
Oh that’s a shame, as this works wonderfully xx
Beginning to look good, but I do think it was a shame you covered up the picture on the postcard. Xx
I think it's hard not to use at least one colored accent
It’s really tough isn’t it? X
I know you are struggling to stay neutral but it is absolutely gorgeous🤍🌸🤎
