- 2020 Audi Q7 has finally arrived and time for me to review it and compare it to the old and outdated Q7, the 2019 model.

Things have changed in the new Q7, fresh new exterior, Q8 style interior, more technology, more horsepower, bigger boot, and of course longer than the older Q7. This year the Q7 it will cost you about $2,000 dollars more but the price is justifiable since it offers more technology and of course more storage for your golf clubs.
In this video I compare them side by side, and I also take the 2020 Q7 for a test drive and see how that new engine handles on the road.

Does the new 2020 Q7 still have the run-flat tires ?
They are beautiful SUVs, but the fake exhausts completely ruin the rear of the vehicle.

2019 for me - no problematic 48V mild hybrid system, physical buttons, and wonderful styling
They reason why the exterior on the pre-facelift looks batter is because they are trying to incorporate the new design language which doesn’t fit the original “horizontal design” of the 4M model Q7. That’s why the face lift looks modern but some how distorted if you spot one in real life. The black style package in this video actually hides the problem.

You explained every bit wow …. I was thinking / confused which one to buy 2019 or 2020 your video gave me a clarity.
Although I prefer the interior infotainment design on the new q7, I feel the previous generation q7 is much more practical. Additionally, as one doesn’t need to divert their eyes from the road, physical buttons and dials are much better to adjust whilst driving; furthermore, the pop-up screen on the previous generation is close to eye-level.
Although the newest model has some better features, in my opinion, the new driver interface is not nearly as practical or safe.
I found the 2019 model not as practical in terms of infotainment system, but that's subjective.
Completely agree with you.. the 2019 q7 is definitely better in terms of keeping driver’s attention towards the road not on the infotainment.. and also there is a high chance when you wont able to see the screen properly due to bright sunlight in the new q7
WHAT!!! the 2019 w a track pad is better features! 🤣 With the cheesy pop up screen, that 2019 is way outdated with no touchscreen for a 60k+ vehicle. I used to have a 2010 Lexus WITH touchscreen. infotainment!

The interior in my opinion is very outdated, the exterior is better than the new one.

I feel like the 2020 is slower off the line then the 2019. I just traded in my 2017 Premium Plus (Fully Loaded) to a 2019 Prestige (Fully Loaded) with B&O sound system. I fell like it’s so much better then the new engine I drove on a Q8.
Two touch screens in 2020 models will require regular cleaning on a daily basis because of finger marks. It is also very distracting while driving compared to 2019. In terms of the look 2020 is much better looking from the back but 2019 looks better from the front. I just purchased 2019 prestige two days ago with $11,000 discount from MRSP and 0% finance for 72 months. Couldn’t get much discount on the 2020 and there is no zero interest. I drove both cars and there is no noticeable difference between the two cars. 2019 looks more luxurious from the inside mainly because 2020 is all touch screen 2020 is more modern from inside.One big advantage on the 2020 prestige is adaptive chassis package is standard while it costs additional $4,000 in the 2019 prestige. Bottom line, if you can get a big discount on the 2019, then go for it. You are not missing much compared to 2020.
Between the 2019 and 2018 for the Q7 Technik tip model which year would you suggest? Being a 10k price difference and same mileage on both at around 40k

I like the front of the 19
The 2019 gen is hand down better , the superchargedi motor and the interior is better- this new piano black dash wil be a nightmare to keep clean and all the touchscreen controls are not going to be good
I had my eye on a certified 2018-19 and now feel even better not wanting this refresh right before they overhaul it completely
Qi is the wireless charger. Not related to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
I like the grid on 2019 Q7 better
They cheaped out on the interior door trim as well (trim where you open the door). It is now one piece which looks way too large and plasticky instead of two layers in pre-facelift model.
Try driving it at night! I wonder if their black level are any good

Damn it hurts me to say that the 2019 looks much better on the outside and the 2020. But the 2020 interior looks better than the 2019.

Not sure why you had to slam door shut-my2019 features “soft close” which automatically finishes securing the door completely. Maybe only in Prestige models? Also, the new engine while having slightly more power suffers worse fuel mileage by about 3mpg, that’s a negative to me. I know you don’t by these things for fuel economy, but a new model should not get worse, it should be better.
The door doesn't close properly, this package didn't have the soft closing option which I am sure won't be cheap. As far as fuel economy, don't bother looking at the data that they provide online or even the manufacturer they don't show the real testings.
All that black piano plastic and the touchscreens will be a magnet for scratches dust and fingerprints. No thanks
How do you compare the Q 7 and Lincoln Aviator?
I am assuming you are asking : why not compare the Q7 to Aviator? Unfortunately, all the press fleets have been closed due to COVID19, but that is a good idea. I will once they reopen again.

Meanwhile Audi has fallen behind in all of their lineup vehicles .. with its soft designs...

The Q7 has full-size second-row seats, while the Q5 does not. Vehicles are tools; pick the one right for your needs.
