I have a question, I’m hoping you can give me an answer to.. my great grandmothers engagement ring is very fragile and badly damaged. My sister tried to have it repaired, but it didn’t go well. I just found a ring on eBay that’s exactly the same, in good condition. Can CAD be used from pictures of the eBay ring to make a new mold? My thought was to get a new setting made from a new mold, melted down from the original gold and added to with new gold to make it stronger. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I’d like to try. It would mean so much to my mother..
Hey, you can have someone remake it from the pictures but it won't be exactly the same. Another option is to buy the ring, 3d scan it and resize it in the cad program and remake it (return the ring and send them some money for returning)
also if you are going to do this since this is something that is very important to your family do not do this on your own, have a trusted jewelry do this
