    You are becoming more mature. It helps to have had success recently, as you have, to give you the confidence in yourself and not be ungrateful. It's far more important than final table wins. Happy for you, well played.

    Awesome content my dude! I had a quick question for ya. With that KQo hand vs the UTG+1 min raise, why are we choosing to 3bet small to 4.1? I’m assuming it’s bc stacks are very shallow and it allows us to raise/fold if we get jammed on? Thanks 🙏🏻

    • @Egption
      @Egption  3 роки тому +4

      Did a lot of work going into it, it's a good spot to bluff small because they end up folding almost everything. It's also a spot where people traditionally end up raising to steal kinda wide. His stackoff range ends up being something like QQ+ AKs sometimes AKo. Especially with 9 left he's completely in the bin with TT-99 and hands like AQ AJ which end up folding. Even JJ is throwing up.

      KQo is never a flat in this spot so many reshoving stacks behind, I think with all things considered its a fold with stack sizes as they are, I think if the original opener has a little more (maybe 20bb) then the 3b is probably our best bluff candidate and we will rarely have 3b folds here off this stack depth and table position so KQo blocking villains KK/QQ/AK/AQ is going to be a 3b at a decent frequency for sure so I like the idea from Egption I just think attacking a 20bb opener with a range that should be slightly wider will be more profitable as villain shouldnt be opening very wide here at all off 16bb with the stack sizes to his left.

    • @olinater5
      @olinater5 3 роки тому

      @@richardbennett8085 Yeah for me I'm not calling with KQo unless it's HJ vs. LJ or I can exploitatively call in another position against a particular type of opponent. And even then it's usually a 3bet vs an open.

      @@mikeallen6845 I agree with this assessment. I was saying that was the only way he was going to make money is if he flats, UknowwhoIam flats with AQo and they go to a king high flop. He probably should have folded but I don't disagree with the 3bet either.

      Cmon guys, when was the last time you played on a final table of a tournament this big?
      Given the stacks, nothing wrong with his 3-bet sizeing if he is balanced correctly, which I'm sure he is. Also, the 3bet sizeing doesn't have to be big since his opponent either jams or folds, I doubt he flats any hand. He would do this for value with AA (doubt he slow plays Aces in this situation), KK and QQ, and with KQ, maybe AJ blocking the AA and AK for a bluff. He can fold out a good amount of hands and just imagine the situation his opponent gets into with hands like 99 or AQo for example. There are few shorter stack also to take in mind.
      To make myself clear I'm not saying I'm 100% right, I just disagree that his play was bad.

    • @alexneagu7149
      @alexneagu7149 3 роки тому +1

      @@Filip528ZOR you are completely right about me playing for that much money, but I do play tournament regularly.
      My point is: why would u chose to 3bet bluff a guy who should have a pretty tight range? Pretty sure you want to just jam QQ and (of course) AK in this ICM scenario, I don't know about KK. And I really doubt he is doing this with AA; it's just such a good flat call. You do want to flat call some hands here other than AA. AQs, TT, 99, maybe even JJ even if it looks crazy (just plug in in HRC 3bet calling JJ here and you'll see it's a losing play) but opener range should be pretty tight. It's definitely an out of line play. You need to be tight in this position also with all the stacks behind. And it's not like Patrick has 45bbs and can bully all the stacks. You just don't need to get involved here. You don't need to bluff this stack.It's such an easy snap fold!! I'll maybe buy the play if this is like CO vs HJ or so.
      Anyway, I don't wanna spread hate. I definitely like Patrick ;)
