Since you mentioned it while talking about Bizarre Adventures 27 , you don't need an excuse for showing off your collection , we can't wait for it, please show us more, i love that i always discover something new about comics watching your videos.❤
Talk about a great UA-cam channel. Well, this is the one right here. All the views and all the subs are so well deserved. This video has it all shoutouts, challenges, a great host, and great books. Oh wait, Did someone say John Byrne?!? Say it again!!!
Awesome, thanks for participating. I really like the Bizarre Adventures, that series had many cool covers. I knew before you showed which book would be your #1. Lots of great books. My favorite Bernie Wrightson is House of Secrets 92.
This is my favorite era Mike. I was around 10 in ‘73 and I started picking up mostly Marvel and a few DCs. I still remember where I bought most of my titles back then. You always have fun videos and bring back good memories ! Thank you for your channel!
AWESOME covers Mike! I knew you took down your Nova #1 too. Because I'm a HUGE Nova fan, I agree with what you said. I grew up from 1966 I was five and six years old. I first started trying to read and actually collecting comics in April of 68. I bought everything thing I could. Mainly Marvel but a good chunk of DC titles too. Besides Superman & Batman . I loved the monsters comics and odd heroes. Like the Metal Men, Doom Patrol and everything by Kirby. I too was a huge GL/ Hal Jordan/ Green Arrow / Oliver Queen. Neal Adams, Gil Kane, Bernie Wrightson, Mike Kaluta and Dave Cockrum. If they drew it, I bought it. Did you ever read Rom Spceknight? Great series as well as the Micronauts. I know your probably never going to want to part with your Nova #1. But if you are, let me know. Awesome books you have. I wish I still had all mine. I used to have like ten copies of GS X-Men #1, X-Men #94- #143? I aquire many from friends and friends of friends/ neighbors. Who got married all way too young. Their wifes usually said either your comics go or I do. Three out five of those guys got divorced a few years later. Regretting they sold off their collections. So I sold back lke half of those to them. Love your videos. When the X-Men was being reprinted. The Beast was in Amazing Adventures/ the Avengers. Iceman appeared in ASM #92/#93? Angel & Iceman were in the Champions. I think before they split up. The team minus the Beast were in two issues of Capt.America like #172/ #173 ish. Maybe a few issues befor or after.
As a huge Man-Thing fan, and someone who says the title a lot in my video…I feel this comment lol. My wife always raises her brow until she realizes I’m taking about a comic character lol
Huge Swamp Thing fan as well... I don't know where the "rumour" is from, but I heard it several times that #9 was Bernie Wrightson's personal favourite cover as well...
Swamp Thing #9 is my favorite also! That cover to me is the definitive image of the character. Great list! I think we need a top 10 X-Men bronze age vid from you 😉
Wow!!! Great list of comics. I’m a huge fan of the Bronze Age because that was my childhood. I’m currently working on collecting more titles from that era. My favorite Bronze Age is Marvel Spotlight #5, the first appearance of the Ghost Rider. 🔥💀🔥💀
dude I like it when you mention and show off your Swamp Thing books, my fav I'm a fan and almost bought a huge collection of over 3k books recently but haven't owned a comic book since a kid the collection had been up for sale for 8 hours and I just missed getting it congrats on 10k subs 👏 👍
I love that Bizarre Adventures book. It was lots of fun trying to find magazine size books back in the 80s :) That book, Marvel Preview #2, Marvel Super Action #1 and Warrior #1 were really treasures to find back then!
Good Morning Michael What an Excellent array of comics, don't the colours just pop! I really feel the Bronze age of comics had the best covers, A through back to and an improvement on the Golden Age. Dave Cockrum, The Romitas , Al Milgrom, John Byrne, Frank Miller, Bernie Wrightson, Mike Ploog and of course the always Mighty Jack Kirby and the ever underrated Herb Trimpe and Marie Severin, And the DC Team of Neal Adams, Nick Cardy and Dick Giordano. I have to say I was not surprised at your choices. As Always Keep up the great work Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda.
Good choices, Mike. Awesome that Swamp Thing was number one and two spots on your list. The earliest edition I have is number 10. Have you ever watched the Cartoon when you were a kid or had any of the toys? I know I did.
This one fun to watch, I've liked watching these community challenge videos from all the creators, everyone have had great picks and same with yours. Gotta love the top picks, awesome stuff and that Man-Thing+ The Demon, allthough honorable leftovers, are amazing! Still hunting those 😊
I share your love of the Xmen, and you currently have 3 on my grail list (Giant size, Incredible Hulk, and Iron Fist 14). Someday! Also, that 1st Mystique is sweet!
Hey Mike! Great top list. I was a huge X-Men fan of the bronze age, and remember the first book i bought from the newsstands..#120 through 150. Early X-Men were hard to find for me for some reason? I remember flea marketing with i was a kid. Best times!
Beautiful books Mike! Those Swamp Thing covers are amazing. I’m trying to think if I have any Bronze books to show, but I’m pretty sure I have mainly silver age Flash at this point 😂
Always appreciate these tag videos…especially because you spent a lot of time talking about other YT creators in the comic community. By the way, your list HAD to be X-Men heavy because those were the best books from that era….#MutantBias
Yeah I think it's generally agreed upon that Crisis on Infinite Earths is the start or thereabouts of the Modern Age. Although I do think we need a other distinction for the actual modern comics because we're approaching a 40 year gap 🤣
Ofcourse 2 of my all time favorite bronze age comics would be 2) Giant Size Xmen and 1) Incredible Hulk 181 - which i both own ...thanks for the video 👍
Nova #1, Peter Parker#1, Ms. Marvel #1 , Marvel Spotlight #32, etc always bring back memories of searching through a city's used book store comic books buying these for 6 cents each...
Sold my 700 Bronze Age childhood collection during the pandemic peak. Am currently buying many of them back. But at least the prices have come way down!
Side question: is there a name for the higher quality hard sleeve you showed in this video? I've stumbled upon them in shops. I'd like to invest in some if you can recommend a brand.
Yup, they are called comic top loaders, there are a few different companies that make them. They aren’t the best items (when you buy them there are always several in the package that are warped) but they are good because they fit an already bagged comic
I have never understood the supercilious attitude of many collectors to b/w magazines like Bizarre Adventures and Savage Sword Of Conan, and even to colour magazines like Epic Illustrated. Their view that these are "not proper comics" means they miss out on some exceptional stories and art, and even important character first appearances. For me, the Bronze Age epitomises great comics. Marvel, DC, the upstarts at Atlas-Seabord, Cerebus The Aardvark when it was still clever and funny, all those underground comix that crawled into the light and found bigger audiences, it just goes on and on. No argument with your Top 10 choices, all significant comics and a good range of titles.
Mike , you gotta be kidding. The DD was ok, but.....No Spiderman (for instance 121)? No Thor (like 16)7? No Dr Strange? No Kamandi? No FF??? Really? I know you are a Claremont addict so a few X Men ok, but two of the most overrated comics (Hulk 181 and Giant X Men 1) omg I feel a little bit disappointed... But do not worry, everybody can make mistakes and come to their senses :)
I can’t show off what I don’t own! I almost went all deep cuts, all cheaper comics but I was just too busy to dig through the collection and ran out of time. But to each their own, I personally dislike the Punisher and think the character and ASM 129 are wildly overrated but a lot of people love that book. So everyone can have a different opinion, that’s what makes this interesting!
Awesome Picks Man!!! Great Video!!
AWESOME STUFF 😊- As Usual!- Thanks for the Shout Out! 😊
1st appearance of Wolverine is 🔥
Killer choices man. Love the shout outs to the other creators. Cant wait to watch then too. Great content. Thanks
That 181 will always have a memorable story awesome books Mike!
Since you mentioned it while talking about Bizarre Adventures 27 , you don't need an excuse for showing off your collection , we can't wait for it, please show us more, i love that i always discover something new about comics watching your videos.❤
I don’t tend to like these top 10 tag videos, but I tune into yours because the content feels real and genuine.
Thanks (and to be honest, I’m not a fan of top 10s either… don’t tell anyone!)
Talk about a great UA-cam channel. Well, this is the one right here. All the views and all the subs are so well deserved. This video has it all shoutouts, challenges, a great host, and great books. Oh wait, Did someone say John Byrne?!? Say it again!!!
Thank you so much Mr Akins, you are far too kind!
Awesome, thanks for participating. I really like the Bizarre Adventures, that series had many cool covers. I knew before you showed which book would be your #1. Lots of great books. My favorite Bernie Wrightson is House of Secrets 92.
Thanks for shouting me out! I almost went full deep cuts and non-money books but eh, couldn’t escape the 181
Love the Bronze age Xmen run, one of the best. Frank Miller DD aswell
The Hulk 181 and Signed X-Men 101 are definitely two I’d love to have.
Just bought my first Bronze Age yesterday! Devil Dinosaur 1 in a 9.6. Super fun,
My first Kirby book and it was published the month I was born.🎉
This is my favorite era Mike. I was around 10 in ‘73 and I started picking up mostly Marvel and a few DCs. I still remember where I bought most of my titles back then. You always have fun videos and bring back good memories ! Thank you for your channel!
I also loved and bought the Creeper/ Ditko, the Spectre and Phantom Stranger by Neal Adams and Jim Apario.
AWESOME covers Mike! I knew you took down your Nova #1 too. Because I'm a HUGE Nova fan, I agree with what you said. I grew up from 1966 I was five and six years old. Great choices, Mike. Definitely a hard challenge but you made it look easy. Well done my friend!
My wife still can't hear "Man-Thing" without giggling, especially if it's Giant-Size.
Giant size Manthing!! What a laugh! As you were saying, one of the funniest titles in comics.
As a huge Man-Thing fan, and someone who says the title a lot in my video…I feel this comment lol. My wife always raises her brow until she realizes I’m taking about a comic character lol
Your Giant-Size #1 looks really nice for a 2.5! I love it when you can get a really nice presenting copy of a book at a discount like that :)
The camera adds 5 grades!
The Bronze Age is my favorite. I think it was a creative zenith ( especially marvel) that has yet to be equaled.
Huge Swamp Thing fan as well...
I don't know where the "rumour" is from, but I heard it several times that #9 was Bernie Wrightson's personal favourite cover as well...
I believe that rumor!
Great selections, Mike! You are my favorite X-Men apologist 😂
Swamp Thing #9 is my favorite also! That cover to me is the definitive image of the character. Great list! I think we need a top 10 X-Men bronze age vid from you 😉
These are all great books. They don’t make art like they used to and the books you chose and your entire wall look fantastic!
Great video and FANTASTIC books, thank you for sharing. 😊
Wow!!! Great list of comics. I’m a huge fan of the Bronze Age because that was my childhood. I’m currently working on collecting more titles from that era. My favorite Bronze Age is Marvel Spotlight #5, the first appearance of the Ghost Rider. 🔥💀🔥💀
Love this challenge, Bronze age covers are still some of the best works of art ever !!
That’s is a sweet top ten
Fantastic list of bronze age books big fan of the bronze age horror
Another great video. Super jelly of some of those. Looking forward to having you on tomorrow evening.
dude I like it when you mention and show off your Swamp Thing books, my fav
I'm a fan and almost bought a huge collection of over 3k books recently but haven't owned a comic book since a kid

Richard Ridah! Love it. Another fun video!
May favorite era, those are definitely some of the grails I hope on owning one day.
Etrigan The Demon would def be my rap name if I had bars 😂
Hey Mike! Great top list. I was a huge X-Men fan of the bronze age, and remember the first book i bought from the newsstands..#120 through 150. Early X-Men were hard to find for me for some reason? I remember flea marketing with i was a kid. Best times!
Love the books. Beautiful.
Some very nice books from the Bronze Age. I think I would move your X-Men number 94 up a bit higher though but aside from that very nice.
Beautiful books Mike! Those Swamp Thing covers are amazing. I’m trying to think if I have any Bronze books to show, but I’m pretty sure I have mainly silver age Flash at this point 😂
I like the bronze age. I was a kid then. Just wish I protected and saved whatever I bought back then.
Always appreciate these tag videos…especially because you spent a lot of time talking about other YT creators in the comic community. By the way, your list HAD to be X-Men heavy because those were the best books from that era….#MutantBias
Awesome choices 👍 but Cool Daredevil shirt mike
Other than my complete Pitt run, I think my fav in my collection is my Crisis on Infinite Earths set.
When that came out, did you not feel like it was the most EPIC thing ever?😮
Supergirl dead, Flash dead.🥺
The gravitas!
I’ve always felt the Bronze Age ended 12/84. Because 85 was all about restarting. At least at DC.
Yeah in my mind it’s marked by Secret Wars and Crisis
Yeah I think it's generally agreed upon that Crisis on Infinite Earths is the start or thereabouts of the Modern Age. Although I do think we need a other distinction for the actual modern comics because we're approaching a 40 year gap 🤣
Very nice top ten! 😊
Obviously the hulk 181. Great collection!
Very cool selection of books
Great books. Im a fan of Swamp-Thing 9 and Man-Thing 1. Love swamp creatures. Takes me back to my time in Marines.
Love the daredevil tee bro!
Ofcourse 2 of my all time favorite bronze age comics would be 2) Giant Size Xmen and 1) Incredible Hulk 181 - which i both own ...thanks for the video 👍
That Swamp Thing 1 is a beautiful book…it’s very hard to find one with the 20c showing fully. The “c” is always cut off. Bothers me!
Where did you get that shirt? Awesome top ten, but I think Brandon (mon comics) would disagree about swampthing being better than manthing.😂
I think I just ordered the shirt off of Amazon!
I adore all swamp folk lol
@@Moncomics “swamp folk” I love it!
I don't mind the X-Men, that's my thing as well! Fun video. I would have had to have a Bob Layton iron Man on there! Otherwise I'm with you on these.
I was SO CLOSE to adding Demon in a Bottle to the runners up list!
Hulk 181 is my favorite and still my biggest grail to be acquired.
Great list and content (as always) but an awesome shirt!
And nice list!
I am going to do the same thing! I will post my list.
Nice books.
You love your green covers!
What are you missing for your Claremont run?
About a dozen in the 97-117 range
@@lunchmoneycomics I’ll keep a look out
Beauty covers🎉
Great list but rehashed! I recently got LOSH number 1. That would be on my list such a really under appreciated DC comic. Find those hidden gems!😮
Bizarre Adventures ..... is a Bizarre choice.
In my mind, the Bronze Age might have started with Conan #1. If not that maybe Giant Size X-Men #1.
X-Men Giant-Size is My favorite 😎👍♥️♥️💯💯

I know you're a nightcrawler fan, so you have to go grab the Uncanny Spiderman issue 1 that was released last week.
Oh believe me I did, several copies with variant covers!
@@lunchmoneycomics I was not expecting the Hellcralwer like that haha
I think the the bronze age starts with Conan the Barbarian #1? I might be wrong though.
I’ve heard it start with Green Lantern/Green Arrow and the death of Gwen Stacy, but never heard Conan before. Makes sense though it’s 1970 as well
Hulk 181 for sure
I have never understood the supercilious attitude of many collectors to b/w magazines like Bizarre Adventures and Savage Sword Of Conan, and even to colour magazines like Epic Illustrated. What years define the Bronze Age?
About 1970 to 1985
Hi Mike how u doing? What top loaders do u use?
I think they are just BCW brand
Copper is 83?
I always thought it was 70's to mid 80's
It is, I usually define it as ending at Secret Wars/Crisis
Very second comment
Very first ever comment
I like watching your videos BUT your intro, ULTRA AGGRESSIVE! haha!
Ha I guess I should have a toned down one
