Hey pilots! Tricker here and I want to welcome you to my channel on combat aviation. I'm a real world pilot in the Airbus 319/320/321 series and I enjoy DCS World, Falcon BMS, Falcon 4.0, IL-2 Sturmovik, X-plane 11, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
If you want to fly WWII aircraft over Normandy and the English Channel, then DCS World WWII is for you and they have plenty of aircraft to choose from such as the BF-109, FW-190, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt, and P-51 Mustang. If you enjoy modern aerial combat then you want to focus more on DCS World products such as the F-16, A-10C Warthog, AH-64D Apache, F-15, F-14, JF-17, SU-27, Mirage, Mig-29, F-18 Hornet, Mi-8, Mi-24 Hind, Uh-1 Huey, Ka-50, F-5, Mig-21, AV-8b Harrier, and the F-4 Phantom. Some of the mods that are out there for DCS World are the F-22 Raptor, SU-57, A-4 Skyhawk, Rafale, and Gripen.
I enjoy other games such as Total War, Battlefield, War Thunder, Escape from Tarkov, as well as Squad.

yeah when they fix that desync it might even be fun to play as the CPG.....
Desync presents the biggest issue right now, my CPG hellfires all miss. The solution is supposed to be storing a target waypoint and slave the tads back to it before firing.

This was excellent. I get things done a little differently and use a lot less binds and so forth, but after looking at some of the binds you’ve got, I’ll probably go in and add some. The Slave/Deslave bind being one of them.

Amazing video Sir, wish I had seen this yesterday as I spent 3 hours in the front seat with a friend flying and I was not able to hit a single target with Hellfire...so hopefully next Friday!!
Same issue, you need to store a target waypoint and slave tads to it before firing. This supposedly solves the desync bug. I'll try this tip today.

One you were missing though is to once I'm a while turn off your pilots tail wheel lock when they piss you off.

This is the video where I go a bit over everything you taught us in this video. It's not a very pretty video - I was lost at some points but I do go over the TSD and TADS a bit and how to use it practically :) My next stream will be better :P

We will find out when it further progresses into a more advanced seat
If you slew onto your target normally then hit the LMC button it will lock the reticule to that spot. Very handy.

Thanks for the video - takes a lot of work to go back and forth between footage/clips and have just what you need as you edit to your narrative (or narrate to your edit haha). Good tips!! I keep "threatening" to make my own video too, since I also use a warthog, and want to incorporate an xbox controller. I want to show the controllers too...to help others but mostly to get it all down myself as well! I am just not confident enough with the actual flying and gameplay - yet! With your help we're getting better though!! Thanks again...
Question - do you use the microstick on the throttle for your HOCAS? Is it stock, or did you upgrade it? Any tips on curves/settings for that little stinking stick?? Especially pressing it for cursor enter...grrrr
Hey really appreciate the comment! I still have the stock slew switch on my Warthog, though about getting that microstick though. My cursor is 5 dead zone and curve of 20
things been driving me nuts 5:40 now I know what I was doing wrong...totally forgot to arm the laser.

Go to the drop down and select ah64 George ai to bind those commands if that’s what you’re asking. Thanks for the comment!

Very great tutorial! Do you use the intercom via SRS to communicate? If so, i can't find the transmit button :/
SRS doesn't seem fully integrated yet. There are notes how to set SRS to enable hot mic intercom.
I predict watching this at least 10 times to get everything down, lol.
Just got the Apache. I had to look up Tricker for a guide. Always a go to for great info, while having a hard on due to his sexy voice.

When you select a target on the TADS how do you lock it in so the camera stops moving? You were marking targets in a hover but what if you are moving and want the camera to track the target?
Nice video. I did a direct rout and after that the Apache went to the next 5 way-points automatically. I'm unable to reproduce that procedure. Any ideas how to recreate that.
Waiting for the hotfixes - we have really been trying the coop and work arounds but the bugs and desync are killing it.
Great module and it’s early access so waiting is fine.
I have found to minimise dsync issues both crew need to be slotted into an aircraft and perform a cold start. After we did that the dsync Issues went away and we had good shacks with hellfires on hoggit GAW server

How do you get to the grey boxed modifier shown on bottom left?
What would your preferred way to communite a direction for the pilot (or maybe to a wingman)? I mean, the compass on the hmd does not rotate if I turn my head.
You can use your HSI on the MPD for a rough location as well
I dont seem to be able to switch to TADS, whenever i press the button; i hear a click but nothing happens, camera still moving instead of staying sticked to the tedac
Im having a problem where when i try to slave, the tads camera just moves to a fixed position to where the helicopter moves
Maybe mention "LEV" and "GAIN" dials which are very useful for adjusting the FLIR target visibility?
I did mention them but didn’t go to in depth on them on this tutorial. In the future if some things get fixed I’ll go more in depth with the spiny knobs
In multiplayer is there a way to Lock onto a target from the gunners seat as you can do when you are in the pilots seat (single player)and using George AI ?? In multiplayer and in the gunners seat I find it very difficult to hold the reticle on target if the pilot is not in a stable hover. LMC helps some but reticle will drift slowly form target. Thanks for your help!
As the CPG it's your job to maintain lock on the target, the pilot also needs to hold a stable hover bit yah there's no magical button. Gotta do some work 💪🏼

8:20 nothing i do or press gets C-HMD off the screen. unclear what you are doing or what button you are pressing within the cockpit.

dumb question - you can slave the IHADDS to the TEDAC and move the sight around just looking out the aircraft, right? If so, how do you set that up? Select HMD, Slave?
TADS symbology switch, choose GHS or PHS as the acquisition source and then hit the slave button, it will follow your IHADDS. Deslave when you find a target of opportunity

As you have done this on a Warthog HOTAS, could you create a diagram of bindings please (like Chuck's Guides)? and push that out to us?
I'm honestly still fine tuning my Warthog at the moment for what feels best. I was going to bind my Xbox controller today so I could try that out and use my Warthog as a backup for the flight controls if the pilot gets killed. I'll see what I can do though
I second this im having a hard time getting everything set on my warthog with any kind of sensible setup. Seems like everything i try i tun out of binds or it just ends up not making sense and I end up forgetting. All i do is cpg in MP with a friend as the pilot

Still trying to figure out how/if there is even a way to set ACQ as PHS from pilots seat and as GHS from gunner seat. So far it seems to me that only the gunner can set PHS ACQ and only the pilot can set GHS ACQ. What if I as the pilot want to set a target point on my own LOS Or vice versa?
I haven’t tried from the pilot seat but as the CPG with Tad’s selected as sight symbology, you can select GHS, and then slave. You will move the Tads around with your helmet
Hey Tricker, I have the same controller setup ( warthog throttle and 2 Joystick but I am struggling to assign the buttons etc to use with CPG role. I would like to use the one of the joysticks for piloting the AH64 and the other stick for the CPG sharing the throttle between.
Can you explain how you bound the HOCAS X & Y axis please?? Cheers
For the HOCAS cursor I use the regular TDC slew switch that I do for the a-10
@@TrickerDCS Hi mate, I have no experience with the A-10 module but I think I have managed to bind one HOCAS X & Y just the other to sort out. Also do you know if these bindings will stay in place in single player mode as well as MP ?? Great video, keep them coming. I did notice that the navigation side did not seem to work on the MP server I went on but this could be server settings!! I will be trying other servers to try and get to grips with it. Cheers again
Are you only binding the CPG specific controls? (Meaning you can't fly the helicopter with your current CPG bindings?)
Yep that’s correct, I’m going to bind my Xbox controller though to do this in the future though

I prefer gamepad because it seems like the pilot dies if the helo takes any damage, and you need to be able to grab the controls.
