You're right there are lots of guys and ladies in the industry who do a great job... However it's your videos that drew me back into airgunning. Keep up the good work.
Would love to see more of the pump platforms like FX's Indy. Not sure why this hasn't cought on more in the air rifle world. It's such a hindrance in the field to have to constantly refill and carry around an air supply. Looking forward to seeing your review.
Wow this has me excited! Really looking forward to seeing your review. I like the idea of the PCP performance but I have been put off by the extra cost to fill them. So I have been using the Weihrauch HW95 .22. This sounds like a great gun that can be taken out in the field with no air supply worries.
already dragging a lot more than that around camping. also I don't know many people who need 20 plus shots hunting. ur not wrong its nice but also not necessary, mas well use a break barrel.
I don't use my air rifles hunting. Just shooting targets and I can go through a small tin, 100-200 pellets a day. This is slow shooting, over hours, not running through them in short order.
In my country we call this pcp/pump combo, the "Gejluk" Rifle, has been around for decades, starts around 100-200 USD. lots of videos on them on UA-cam
I have the Nova freedom version and it is Awesome!!! It's powerful and accurate. I tested it against my .22 Gamo Swarm on a old washer. The Swarm takes 2 to 3 shots to penetrate but the freedom takes 1😊. I hope you review this gun for all the people who wanted the FX Indy like myself but couldn't bring themselves to invest $1,500 (like myself).
How does moisture affect this gun since there is no mechanism to remove water from humid air. Hand pumps and generators remove the moisture to pump in dry air, but this will pump in humid air into the gun. What will that do to the gun over time?
Thanks Ted! Looking forward to your shooting this rifle! To me, I say, maybe! I plink and shoot paper targets, steel targets and occasional squirrel! Parker County Texas
Most problems with the pump have resulted in not enough lubrication. Even the owners manual doesn't have the owner putting enough oil in it. Just like an ar15...this needs to be heavily lubed before shooting.
Sounds interesting. Provided there are multiple shots. I'm a springer guy, no way am I doling out for air tanks etc. Yet the 392 clacking scares away game, for just one shot. So this looks promising.
I've got this barnett crossbow with a trigger tech trigger in it and I'm no expert but I'm pretty Freakin good and this is this best trigger I've ever pulled. I think it would be a perfect application for air rifles.
I have the .25 cal, the best SHTF gun, a little on the heavy side but with a bipod, and I had to mount on on the pump handle, beyond accurate, great side lever, excellent trigger, the scope is good enough although I had a better one so I upgraded it, put a Sumo DonnyFL moderator and budda boom an excellent gun...totally self contained with it's owm pump or can be filled by tank, or extetrnal hand pump, unregulated, 5 shots, 5 pumps keeps it regulated...you will not starve with this gun in a SHTF situation...as long as there is game to hunt.
While doing research on this air gun, I found the "Seneca Aspen PCP Air Rifle, Multi-Pump PCP" in 0.177" (4.5mm) , 0.22" (5.5mm), & 0.25" (6.35mm). The 25 is pre order, that is the one I desire. Can you compare these two identical air guns?
I was just curious, is this rifle shrouded for quiet pest removal? I'm really interested in getting one because not carrying a pump or fill tank around would be great.
Reports on the rifle are good, I have one in .22 cal. , and have heard from others that the .177 cal. is just as good if not better. Waiting to see what Ted can make it do :)
Ted, Off topic question. I have a 1969ish Sheridan, Blue Streak 5mm pump. Where can I send it for repair? It just has not been used since the 90’s. Seals are prolly worn/dried up. Love your starling, pigeon and house sparrow vids. My guess is I was saving swallows from starlings with it before u were born? I slayed many a starling, sparrow, rat, squirrel, chipmunk, groundhog, pigeon, raccoon and muskrat in my day with it. I used to carry on my trap line in the late 60’s thru the mid 70’s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Enjoyed watching and applaud your skills on the American Airgunner Challenge!! Bill
These are great guns for the month they endure. I like mine boucou, but, tho I babied it, two had to be returned because of the pump malfunctioning, and the present one became weak in velocity a few weeks after the warranty was over. If you want to become a super air gunsmith in one year, a Seneca Aspen is highly recommended.
Shawn Weaver I think he had quite some stuff on his plate recently...his (broken)hand and of course the struggle with youtubue for the existance of his channels. Just guessing
it's also called the Seneca Aspen? it's chinese made right? I guess now manufacturers just rebrand Chinese made guns as their own to cut costs. It's a good air rifle. I'll add yo my collection for sure if it ever reaches my country.
Any guns that free the shooter from having to use an auxiliary power source, such as pump-up guns or break barrels, have an advantage. I wonder how long Nova-Vista has been around. Hope they do better than FX, as I've read that the Indy leaks air after being pumped up. Seems like a nice gun on the surface, looking forward to ur review.
Any plans on reviewing the good old sumatra 2500 in the .25 caliber? Looks like it would be a great air rifle on an average hunter’s budget but there aren’t enough reliable videos out there to prove it.
Nova should put together a Prepper Package. Something that you can pump in the field and store enough air to empty a full mag what is not to like. Can't wait to see how it performs.
What I meant in saying "wow" was it's surprisingly cheap for what it is compared to other self pumpers like say the Independence. Judging by the other comments here, I am not alone on this sentiment. Now with that cleared, I never knew Ted's channel was exclusive to high end viewers like yourself. Even if it was, you don't have to be such a sanctimonious douche about it.
Is it quiet? I live where I can just get and shoot very accurate 22lr rifles for cheap but getting a suppressor would be expensive... Casting 22 bullets for shooting out of a pump gun would be interesting...
At that price im already 90% sold always wanted an indie but the price tag and lack of updated revision kinda put me off .... hoping to see one with the new barrel and maybe the action of the wild cat ...?...
Ted what are your thoughts on using hydrogen or nitrogen in a pcp instead of compressed air. It seems like there are some videos out there claiming higher velocities, more shot count and more power if one uses these gases. Im sure if it was the real deal, you would be using these gases right?
I got my Nova Freedom .22 cal a few weeks ago, and love it! I just wish that I could have afforded to buy a small compressor to refill small tanks to charge it. Pumping is great, but, it also gets old fast when out target shooting all day long. I'm a welder, and have two giant tanks of 100% pure Argon sitting full in my shop - for TIG welding.. I was also curious if I could just snag some adapters / fittings, and use the Argon instead. Having an account with AigGas, it's easy to just swap out tanks from empty to full, and my buddy up the street is our local station, so if doable, and beneficial, that'd be great!
Helium not hydrogen I think. Hydrogen could explode. . The smaller the atom, the faster the gas... so He would be the best non explosive. Nitrogen would not be a lot faster than regular air because regular air is mostly nitrogen anyway.
First impressions , it looks good. But $400 US, Hmm by the time it gets to the UK and has been restricted for our laws i bet its £700+. But what i really want is a breakdown price list for the Dreamline.
deaczorz. Sarcasm does work on the internet. Ha! John Higgins caught you off guard with his sarcasm. For future reference (not "refrence ". Ha)up your goals to pay attention. Just so ya know
The rifle arrived today and I dialed in the scope just a couple hours ago ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL . I haven’t shot with a scope in probably 25 years. The X on the left was my target. (the shot almost in the bullseye on the right X was my father in laws first shot after I made adjustments) The two shots circled are my first 2 shots. Then I brought it down - shot once. Then brought it over to the left. From there zeroed it in to dead center. This all was from 25 yards out. Follow instructions carefully when mounting the scope. So far I'm very happy with the purchase.
Ted, did you ever get one of these to test? Its been awhile since you shot this vid so I think with your ADHD, you have already moved on to Slugs, Scopes, yada yada yada…
I think a small electric actuator could do the trick. It would remove the need for the lever on the pump and since they can deliver hundreds of pounds of force, pump it up in fewer cycles. Industries don't like to move forward in innovation to quickly. Adding only a few new changes each generation and selling them to the same people who bought last years model. "Our new model has "two cupholders and bluetooth, get it now while supplies last!"
Crap. I just ordered the Gauntlet. Well not crap really but more like "dang". I was talking about hand pump pop rifles with a friend and didn't hear of this until four minutes ago. Just another one to wish list is all.
i got all excited when i saw this, but then i went to link and read the specs 1000fps max, same rating as a Hatsan gas spring break barrel 'viper'? no super PCP power here, maybe its more reliable ? maybe not ?
Ted likes his air guns in the 800-950 fps range because when they shoot too fast the pellet destabilizes and significantly loses accuracy past 50 yards.
Here is the URL to American Tactical. www.americantactical.us/5690/detail.html. Looks very nice and at the price and depending on your review of this nice rifle, I will get one very shortly. I was looking at the Indy but FX is not listing them. I love the portability and not having to have the hardware yet.
I bought one from MidwayUSA. They showed it with a scope for $299. When I got it it came with no scope or open sights. Don’t fall for MidwayUSA, BAIT AND SWITCH. This gun came with NO free shipping. What rip off !
You're right there are lots of guys and ladies in the industry who do a great job...
However it's your videos that drew me back into airgunning.
Keep up the good work.
Wicked looking rifle!! Can’t wait, love the idea of an onboard pump, great price. Thanks for the inside look Ted!
Would love to see more of the pump platforms like FX's Indy. Not sure why this hasn't cought on more in the air rifle world. It's such a hindrance in the field to have to constantly refill and carry around an air supply. Looking forward to seeing your review.
If hunting, all that pumping racket is a game spooker.
@@johnnybarbar7435 ,the gun provides 10 flat, accurate shots per 40 previous pumps. It's not a pump gun, but a self-contained PCP.
I have one & love it! It is my truck gun & have mounted a Bug Blaster scope on it. I'll also soon be shooting the JSB Hades pellets in .22 out of it
Wow this has me excited! Really looking forward to seeing your review. I like the idea of the PCP performance but I have been put off by the extra cost to fill them. pneumatic pumps have started being added into packages on a number of pcp air rifles now.
Myname IsBob True, but you still have to drag it along wherever you go. This seems like a very mobile system for camping trips as an example
already dragging a lot more than that around camping. also I don't know many people who need 20 plus shots hunting. ur not wrong its nice but also not necessary, mas well use a break barrel.

Nice to see u are alive ted
Very good... I'm looking forward to seeing the review. William C.
Looking forward to seeing the review video!! Any idea when??
Most problems with the pump have resulted in not enough lubrication. Even the owners manual doesn't have the owner putting enough oil in it. Just like an ar15...this needs to be heavily lubed before shooting.
yes, plenty silicone oil, pump slow
Tony from ARP on Vimeo has one in hand and is two videos into doing a full breakdown.
please put the review, this is really exciting to see.
It's nice to see you again Tedd love your videos
Sounds interesting. Provided there are multiple shots. I'm a springer guy, no way am I doling out for air tanks etc. Yet the 392 clacking scares away game, for just one shot. So this looks promising.
I hope you do the review soon for this P2 PCP looking forward to it
I've got this barnett crossbow with a trigger tech trigger in it and I'm no expert but I'm pretty Freakin good and this is this best trigger I've ever pulled. I think it would be a perfect application for air rifles.
It's not doing so well on the Amazon reviews, I'll pass on this one.

So it's like a multi pump pneumatic/PCP hybrid?
Exactly.
Any update on this? I reached out to the contact on the website about the price/getting my hands on one in the U.S. and never heard back.
Please do a s hooting review. I appreciate you highlighting this gun.
That looks pretty damn sweet for a pump gun👍
Cool looking gun. You are awesome Ted.
Be interested to see your review. Able to do a side by side with the indy?
When is the review coming out?
I was just curious, is this rifle shrouded for quiet pest removal? I'm really interested in getting one because not carrying a pump or fill tank around would be great.

Sadly, the same problem - soon occurrence of pump malfunctioning - plaques Seneca's Aspen too, according to what I found on Internet...
Ted please give us more info on this new rifle. We count on your opinions before we spend our hard earned money.

Very interested in this gun. That would be the cheapest way into PCP's.
jTempVids diana stromrider
a refurbed crosman wildfire and an ebay handpump is the cheapest way into PCPs.. ( 160 total ) (-'
This Aspen.
For that kind of money id buy a gauntlet and a good scope !

Hello from the UK please could you do more cooking episodes thanks
Thanks i will put on my xmas list.
Thanks Ted nice gun
Ted, what about barrel? Is is ST or ST-X one?
Ted does a review of this air rifle, please.
nice to see another vid tedd but when the vid off your warcat comes ??
does anyone knows if they're going to produce a .25 cal version ?

Why don't someone make a high powered air rifle with a built-in electric battery operated pump in stock flip a switch pump up whenever you was ready
Tim Ryals the air compressor to fill the air rifle and not your dinky garage compressor the smallest one weighs about 25 pounds
I think a small electric actuator could do the trick. It would remove the need for the lever on the pump and since they can deliver hundreds of pounds of force, pump it up in fewer cycles. This could be great if it''s consistent, even for half a dozen shots.
like the cross man only on steroids I bet it doesn't hook left or right like the one that shoots bb's
When? Where, Brand? I want to know more! Semper Fi!
check Pyramid Air, $299 Seneca Aspen
You should always have iron sights.
The URL does not work Ted.
what brand rifle is this?
Seneca brand. Aspen model.
I also am look for a pcp but my price range is up to $200 any suggestions
THE pellet SPEED
The rifle power and hammer spring are both adjustable; 900+ fps in .22 doable.
Would be good to leave at the rice paddy in the Philippines. Rat and birds, maybe a cobra ?
i got all excited when i saw this, but then i went to link and read the specs
1000fps max, same rating as a Hatsan gas spring break barrel 'viper'?
no super PCP power here, maybe its more reliable ? maybe not ?
Ted likes his air guns in the 800-950 fps range because when they shoot too fast the pellet destabilizes and significantly loses accuracy past 50 yards.

What ever happened to this?!?!
anybody knows if its for sale yet? where can I buy one?
pyramid airguns had them for 299 recently, Seneca Aspen by name
think I missed the video of you reviewing this.
scratch the coffee. get them to send me a sub 12 ft lb and I'll happily review it. ;-)
If only it came in .25...
but still with a decent shot count.
I does.
