My Escort Mk 1 1600GT back in the day sounded like this after I drilled a few strategic holes in the exhaust.... We had to improvise back then....shillings were tight! 😂

Completely level road, no headwinds, cruise control set at 60mph maybe, normally motorway cruising 30mpg, around town or high power use it's closer to 20mpg
more like 40 meters per gallon
My sl500 v8 gets about 26mpg and that’s being good. that’s a superchargedv8 tuned!!! No way he getting 40mpg
That Supercharged V8 is heavenly, reminds me of the 6.2 V8 engine in the old C63 AMG 🔥
I know someone with an F Type who got pulled over about his ‘loud aftermarket exhaust’ clearly not being a ‘road legal system’, or ‘within the legal db requirements’.
It was the standard exhaust.
My man had to show the copper a UA-cam review of the f type, pictures on the Jag website, and tell him that he could write him a producer if he really wanted, but it’d be pretty embarrassing for him, before he laid off it with a ‘you’re lucky I’m not section 59ing you’.
That rear number plates driving my OCD mad !! Gorgeous car though, for the money he should hes spent should have got the SVR !!

agree, c63 is 1 of my favorite sounds, but Jags are in a league of their own, so much car for the money and so underrated everyone buys german but they're not that special, British car industry was destroyed when we joined EU the gov sold out the industry, now they only make cars no one can afford to buy, thats why i think jags are special cos they're achievable and so british. lol
A proper British car one of the best sounding V8s to date can not beat it 😊

Jagaur are the only engines in my opinion that are on par with AMG in terms of sound.

All v8s sound tamed these days, old carb v8s sound the best especially supercharged...V8 lemans race cars used to rev to over 10,000 rpm back in the carb days.
No AMG of the correct generation can compete with this 5.0 V8... The older C63 could maybe.

Being a vert says he bought it from his gramma or some other old person. One of the best exhaust notes of the past 10 years though. Edit: I do give him props for taking the leap into something different because it’s hard not to go with some form or an Audi, BMW, or Merc, It’s an incredible time to be a car enthusiast

Is it a stage 1, no it's a stage 3, it was a stage 2, well a stage 2+. Bloody hell cant keep up with all this "stage" nonsense on cars.
Cool car though, wings not for me, love the colour.
stage 1 is usually just a map, or map and little mods, stage 2 is a map intercooler, exhaust etc, stage 3 is usually full race exhaust uprated turbos and cooling etc
If he leaves those air fresheners where they are then they will permanently stain that leather surface. Trust me I'm a detailer. Sweet car though it sounds incredible.

Think there may be an exaggeration of power output.
690bhp is going to need rather more than sports cats,pulleys and tune.
Intercooling and water meth cooling isn't going to give any more power, merely reduces power loss with temperatures.
Figure the power output is closer to 600 bhp than 700bhp
Live an F type, I prefer the V6 version in terms of looks. I like the central exhausts. 👌 Another great review Rick, keep them coming!
