- We were pushing the limits on the long range drone today trying to get this shot. This turned out to be one of my favorites from Utah.

omg man i still remember that time two years ago when we went on the volcano in iceland... that was the start of it all for me! and it was thanks to you and svanur! but this is something else, probably will have to travel there before or then, the scenary at the take off phase was just AMAZING

3.6v on a Liion is totally good. I fly those down to 3.2 and even lower for long range. Haven't been to Factory Butte, need to surf it!

Dude you need to say sketch again
You need fixed wing for out there. When you can fly half an hour out, you'll be embarrassed you ever used the word Send on a 6 minute flight. 🍻
Okay, a little bit too dramatic with the whole this is scetch... I just did 3km the other day with my 6" walksnail and 2.4 elrs and full GoPro , with plenty of time left( over 13 minutes at 32*F)... I know saying kilometers sounds impressive but it's actually only 2 miles... anyway it was a nice flight, keep em coming!!!

currently sitting in my basement building a 6s 25 000 mah lion pack for my fpv plane that i can fly it with 75 000 mah. goal is 100 ah so 2kwh :) And watching a guy who calls 3 km long range,man my understandibg of long range is when i fly out of the valley i live in wich is at least 27 km, because as long as I stay inside i will get 100% back
That's insane range, what are you using for video transmission on that setup? Would this go against most LOS rules in most countries?
@@supermellon1998 1.2 ghz video as Transmitter, i am using a 1.5 w partom transmitter with a prodrone dipole that is tuned and as a receiver I have a rmrc receiver with a 17 element yagi antenna i think with enough elevation over open sea 200 km+ is possibel. If you are down the Lr Route you know that 100 km is nothing :). Yeah in most countries this violates the rules, but there are still some you are abel to do that, or over open waters. for this kind of flights I always travel to placec like these mentioned. It is way to dangerous an I don`t wan`t to come in Problems with the goverment.

Very nice flight. I like the scenery. Maybe a better antenna setup and you should get easy6 to 8 kilometres

Q. What is your radio setting for Max Power? Right now, I'm running 1W Dynamic. I also have the Tango 2 but only 1 year into FPV. Planning a trip to Switzerland, it would be nice to do a little long-range while I'm there. Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
You should be fine with anything with 1W, I fly out 3k(which I only consider a mid-range flight, 3k comes up pretty quick)on 100mw no problems. But yeah I would definitely have GPS, just in case, could have an antenna lead to bad or interference, etc..., oh and build up to the distance and multiple tests where you know you can get it back before your trip

Shouldn't you tube influencers at least show all the prep that's needed before pushing the limits by showing how they check for tfr's, restricted military air space and like showing your waiver for beyond visual line of sight?
Heard if it's stretchy you don't need all that...
There is no military air space in this part of Utah, anyone can easily find that out. There is no waiver for beyond LOS unless its for official use. But just about every Long Range pilot is breaking the law.
