- Video shows building a custom box to accommodate the longer shifter (in short mode) and installing aluminum bushings to replace rubber bushings. This is a long video because of so many steps and details. Please fast-forward past content you don't need.

Good preview of what you will have to deal with. One tip, use thin feeler gauges to hold back the white plastic keeper clips and then tap it out from the bottom. Thanks for the video.
Based on the quality of your work you must be an engineer - fantastic job.
Haha, yes!
awesome vid, love seeing recent vids for 1st gens. Doing this with my 06 S in June as well.
Thanks a lot, just what I wanted to see.
I bought a manzo short shifter for mine. Just because of the price difference, the cravenspeed is really nice though. It hasn't arrived but good to see it's a pita to install lol.
alrighty this is pretty awesome that you have diagrams definitely explains the process a heck of a lot more!
So the upgraded shifter bushing does for the 1st gen minis ?
Thank you. So much help.
was stuck trying to get the cables disconnected for a good hour, thanks a ton man 👍
Why did I think it was just done from the top
it usually is on most cars; BMW is just a pain :(
