    I grew up Mennonite in Pa. We always sang together and all could sight read music and sing harmony with or without musical notes Many of us played guitar and accordion

    Clarifying something... This is the Holderman Mennonites... Slightly different from your average conservative Mennonite church.... But also similar in some ways

      Yes. It’s actually spelled Holdeman (no ‘r’), after their founder, John Holdeman. But for some reason most Kansans say it with an ‘r’. However, a Holdeman couple I talked to, from the Moundridge, KS area, pronounced it without the ‘r’.

      Not sure what you mean in this context. However, I just realized that I mislabeled this song. I meant to write ‘Silver Stars’ for the title. The choir changed the lyrics to Christian ones but using the Silver Bells tune. They called it ‘Silver Stars’ instead. I will make that correction for the title.

      @ I love the Hutterite people we have several colonies by where we live I just wish we would research holidays to find out the origins. Your singing, modesty is all great but there is more The puritans knew this.
