I’ve watched 100’s of ex forces podcasts including a couple of yours and out all of them I’ve seen, this is by far the best. You’re a great interviewer/listener and you don’t interrupt and try and finish the story for them. What a great storyteller Des is! Salt of the earth, interesting, knowledgeable, humble, funny, tough as hell and an inspiration to others. If I had watched alot of these podcasts 25 years ago I would have signed up for the forces (which is something I always regret not doing).

I’m fortunate to know Des in person, although my first exposure to him was at 18 years old in Fermanagh, NI 1981. He used to be into his weights big time and had an incredible physique and being a crow, I had the job of changing his weights whilst he was bench pressing. A great guy, humble guy and a guy you do not cross. Looking well Des if you read this. Spot on Dodge, great interview.
