Brilliant interview! Barrie is a legend. Please interview Willie Apiata VC, NZ-SAS . As a corporal in the NZ SAS he became a recipient of the Victoria Cross for New Zealand for bravery under fire during the War in Afghanistan in 2004, in which he carried a gravely wounded comrade across a battlefield, under fire, to safety.

Why is it the Navy Medic who ran and tended the wounded under extreme fire couldn't get it because she was a she? Carrying full pack and her not higher than a grasshopper.
She got the Military Cross. Katie Nesbit aged 18 at the time.

Churchill lied to Australia and New Zealand, we were attacked and had no back up to what Winston promised us , we had to bring our troops home even though Churchill was furious, we both then leaned on the US and they leaned on us for a defense of the Pacific.

The Judicial system is what it is bro, all governments follow it. We don't have industry in Aotearoa bro, when I grew up in a small kiwi town, everyone had a trade, boilermakers, train drivers, cloth cutters etc etc ... and then our National government (later followed by the other party) got into the Globalization buzz and sent all our industry overseas, and then governments privatized everything and got rid of apprenticeships. All we need is industry, manufacturing and trained by the likes of Hoki and Cabbage or apprenticeships, give our people pride and dignity in themselves and the work they do. Good one Barry

Thank you, so humbling with the insight. What governments who love having people killed regardless. Of excuses that are used. And we sit on our armchair judging with our so-called know it all. New Zealand Aotearoa.

This was amazing. Makes me wonder if a mandatory military service is required for NZ. Where all Men, and women, from the age of 18 - 30 must do 2 years. Teach em discipline, respect and work ethic. Food for thought #GodDefendNZ 🇳🇿

I remember calling in to his place for a coffee at the Viaduct in Auckland with my mate who had been on one of his CQB courses. He was there with another bloke who was ex SAS and they were getting ready to piss off overseas for work. Was a bloody interesting fulla to talk to that's for sure.
