      Its because the kit he used costs like $130 and he used 5 of them for that tiny garage. None of the DIY youtube channels would shell out that much when you can mix your own epoxy and just add pigment for 1/10th the cost.

    Excellent tutorial. Very easy to follow. I do have one question though. What are some of the negative about going with option 1 ( just using the restoleum primer)? Our garage is five years old, it’s never been painted or epoxy before, it’s in pretty good shape and it only has a few stains from my snowblower. Is it worth renting the grinding equipment or I’m better off cleaning it with the degreaser in applying the primer instead

    Great video! Interesting idea about the base coat with the squeegee--perhaps this is why so many people come up very short with this product compared to what it is rated for by Rustoleum. However despite the video saying it would be listed, there's actually no mention of how many boxes you needed to use or how many sq ft. that garage was. Also how much product is needed for the squeegeed on base coat compared to the roller coating? I bought 4 boxes of this stuff to do a 200 sqft garage--this is double the amount Rustoleum says to use, but now I wonder if I don't need another 1-2 boxes for this basecoat?

    Hello.... Nice informative video... but i am little confused.... What is a seal coat. You have listed a primer Recoat....On Homedepot website it mentions not to use this primer on bare concrete? Is that the seal coat or is this something else?I had old layer which i removed and my garage looks like bare concrete now. Other videos i saw put the Rocksolid Polycuramine directly over concrete.

    hi brent! nice epoxy flooring. I do have a question. you've mentioned that the floor needs to do a moisture test before applying it. but what do we need to do if the moisture results turns otherwise? what is the procedure if the floor have moisture issues?

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  3 роки тому

      Great question Ahmad and in all honest I haven't had to deal with a moisture test that failed but I have done research and there is a moisture barrier paint/sealer that is out there for this specific application. You apply it to the surface first after you prep the surface and then you can apply epoxy to the floor so it won't fail. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.

      @@BYOTools forgot to mention to you that i'm from Malaysia, and i m a very big fan of your works ! regarding the moisture, here in Malaysia we're having a climate of hot and humid, therefore for a concrete mix for flooring, we need to insert a thin plastic / rubber membrane before dumping a thick 150mm - 200mm concrete (6" - 9" thick). but these method are not applied throughout the whole country, thus most concrete here have high moisture content.
