Thats awesome how you guys got together and did that for a good cause. It doesnt get any better than that. Plus you enjoyed what you were doing. Hats off, Jonathan.
Oh WOW! Extremely impressive! And I simply love to watch companions having fun together. Congrats! Thanks a lot for making taping editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health.
thats a damn good group of friends you have there. Everyone knew the plan and worked fantastic together. Consider yourself lucky to have such a crew!! great work
Looks like a lot of work and good fun with friends..You mentioned a guy from Dunn, NC..I was raised around the Selma area in Johnston County if you know where that is. Now living near Emerald Isle NC..Wish I could get in on a fun day like this...Cheers Jonathan..
This is the first time I've seen the build on the International, I don't know why. Two things jumped out at me from the beginning, well maybe more than that. One, I can't believe you left the heated argument that was developing between "Mikey" and the older gentleman in, I never knew it was on a Chevy chassis, and you actually had a clean uniform on in the beginning. That is not to say you never do, I've just had never seen the time when you already hadn't done something to get dirty. Great video, wished I could have been there.
0:46 prying the welded door open. Door latch pin was missing. 2:50 Time the cook asked mike to move his truck. Mike said %$@#$#@#$ if you have food we need to expedite this shit!! 9:34 and engineer, a tool and die maker, and a mechanic discussing the power brake mounting issues. 12:48 Charley the man helping me carry the floor had a heart attack 2 weeks before, wasn't enough to keep him away. 13:51 Jake is in the air force. The ending was filmed by my son and his girl friend on his 4 wheeler. My neighbor didn't mind the burnouts and the noise probably because he was there helping with the build. Danny was late and didn't realize we started at 8:15, not 7:00 am. So it was less the 10-1/2 hours instead of 11 1/2.
I could watch this sht all day long. Beats the 'L outta some stupid hollywood movie. I feel sorry for all the corporate meat whistles who can't carry a lick in this setting. Fuggn awesome vid and educational series. Team building, sht u name it. out.
Hey Jonathan, looking for one if your latest videos & came across this one, pretty cool that you can get everything together & have the parts that you need, all in under 12 hours!!
I hope you do more builds like this awsome looks like a good group of car friends that love fixing and bring new life to olde truck or cars I alway say save then don't crush em
+Danny Walker Thanks! Looks like we are going to do another one soon. We will then draw names from a hat and winner gets the car or truck. Each builder puts $100 in to cover costs of the car or truck, any money left over after that goes to the Shriners. I am not going to be in the drawing, but will be supplying food, tools and a place to do the build and of course getting everything required to build it. We had a lot of fun, and everyone is excited. I have picked up a 49 Dodge Business Coupe. We may or may not be doing it, but I will post a video soon of the car either way. Thanks for watching, I appreciate everyone that take the time, I can only hope folks enjoy the videos.. Jonathan W
My grandpa had a truck a lot like that growing up. What truck did that cab come off of, because it looks a lot like his old one. I've been trying to find / restore one for years now but I can't find any information on it. The closest I came is a late 50's model Chevy 3100 but it's still not quite right.
Appreciate it. It's the only one i've seen so far that has that side view window type with the smaller secondary side window that swivels open, like my grandpa's did. He raised me, and passed away about 15 years ago. Don't know what ever happened to it, but He was always in that truck, which is why I've been trying to find any info I can.
One day rat rod from October 2015 Chevy truck, was this for a fundraiser or was this friends paid, what is the story behind it, just trying to catch up on your older vids, thanks again for everything, Joey From Statesville NC
This was the first build. It was a con to get all my friends together and eat a little food, it worked. We built it to prove we could and I drive it almost daily. After this build everyone wanted to do another and I would have felt bad building another for me, so we started building for charity.
+shartne We didn't take the fenders off the bed and didn't want to shorten the frame. I am actually extending the bed forward now to make it look better. We only had one day, so we done what we could..
Thats cool so hard to do in my country all American cars even very rusty ones are worth heaps something like that truck would be worth over $20grand nz
I had trouble at first, but the one without the hat was the cook. He said to the other guy to move his truck so he could get the cooker in. Hat guy dropped his tools and said "BlaBlaBla something, then if you brought food, we need to expedite this shit!!"

You never ceases to amaze me! Believe me, with what I've gone through since the good Lord put me here that takes some doing.
Congrats to all involved, it was worth the wait. The build was cool but the real magic was the enthusiasm and energy involved. Good man Jonathan!

Appreciate it. It's the only one i've seen so far that has that side view window type with the smaller secondary side window that swivels open, like my grandpa's did.
