This GTX 670 is being carried hard by the 8 years newer 5600X. It would be more interesting to see how the GPU holds up paired with an era and budget appropriate concurrent CPU, like the i5-3570k. Probably still works just fine for low requirement titles and anything released during the 2010's or earlier. Just goes to show, a lot of enthusiasts upgrade more often than needed.

Yeah I completely agree. There are games here that the 5600x is taking over. But the super interesting thing to me is the fact that people strive for these high-end card for gaming, yet can still achieve in my opinion more than playable fps levels in the lesser demanding games. Using lesser end CPUs would be really interesting, but unfortunately budget restrictions means I am limited to what I can get hold of, and as I've got the 5600x sitting here I thought why not give.it a test. Further on down the line I guess for me would be getting hold of PCs for tests like this down the line rather than just the graphics cards.

Good video, I remember being jealous of those that had GTX 690's SLI'd

I used a gtx 680 for a while and it was a solid performer, it's lacking support both in drivers and feature level did eventually bring me to upgrading, Battlefield 2042 for reference will not launch on these cards due to the older drivers. And I had issues with newer editing programs though the VRAM was part of that. All cards have promise you have to temper your expectations. The 600 series does support NVENC and CUDA is always nice, however although these cards are cheap depending on what your rates are you'll be paying for this card in Power bills compared to a modern performance equivalent. Gotta work out for yourself if the power cost difference will make this card worthwhile.

I was surprised at performance, but an issue unfortunately was the drivers from a few games I found shown in the video.
That's definitely something I could explore in future videos, looking at productivity apps to see if they can handle a simple video edit.
And also great point about power draw. It may be cheap to buy now but your electricity costs may outweigh the cost of an entry level modern card!
Thanks for checking out the video and the comment.

@@TechNuovo No worries keep up the good work :) Hardware is only really made obsolete by the development of software, Lacking support for newer standards and the like, many cards of this era are still heavy hitters though with hindsight if you bought the AMD equivalent back then you could still scrape by in more games thanks to the Nimez unofficial drivers which sadly don't exist for the nvidia cards.
