If you do a 4 in downpipe you could do away with one of the reducer’s and should help drop egts just a hair. I have a 4 in straight pipe on my 92 d250. How does yours do on fuel? I dont haul any thing over 6-7k once is a while but was thinking about doing local runs with a 36 Gn. I have the Industrial injection 3200 spring/pump and their 50hp injectors. Insurance fairly cheap to cover her commercially? Ive seen you post in the Facebook hot shot groups for the past few months and just found you on here too. Thanks for any info your wiling to give out and hope you stay busy!

An extra reducer was easier, faster and cheaper for me. My 3" pipe is still in good shape so I'll just keep using it. I usually get between 10 and 15 mpg pulling my trailer. My insurance is around 750 a month. You don't want to get your truck loaded and heavier than 22-23k lbs gross, anything over that and you'll just overwork it.

@@firstgentrucking207 Thats still really decent on fuel compared to new trucks. I was planning on running a bigtex 16gn 30 + 5 because i have the OD auto tranny and dont want to push her to hard. I need to do a pyro gauge but have not found a clean mount that i like. Appreciate the response!

That automatic tranny won't last a month from what I've heard unless you have some giant coolers on it.

@@firstgentrucking207 It was rebuilt within the last few years but i was definitely going to put an extra oil cooler on it. Im in south Tx so the hill country would be the worst grades it would ever pull and even then we are talking a 1/4 mile grade. My biggest concern would be speed overall. I would be pushing 55 locking out OD so it would definitely be slow trips but she should pull any general non parachute freight with ease.

@@MrJ2414 I've got a a '93 with the same tranny, and I find that shifting through the gears manually, when pulling, works the best. When I get up to 55, I turn on the OD, and before I know it, I'm running 65.
