Have had my cavalier for a year and a half now. She is great. Love her to bits. She has grown quite a bit in that time. No longer a puppy. She is quite a little madam at times. Very picky with food. But would not change her for any other. 😊

J ai un cavalier King Charles ! Un amour de petit chien pleins d amour et de tendresse.. Il va avoir 4 ans en décembre il aime jouer avec sa balle ou son ballon .
I have a blenheim boy named Benny and he is my world. I wanted a Cav for years before getting one and he is everything I hoped for and so much more. I'll be bringing home his little brother or sister early next year and I'm so excited!

I've got 2 myself. However they're getting up in age now, one is 10 the other 11. When cavaliers are puppies they indeed are very playful but by age 5 they start slowing down and mostly loaf around and sleep. They perk up when on walkies or any other outdoor activity but toys and general play they grow out of completely.
If anyone thinks of getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel there are things you need to know.
1. They have a generally smaller life span than other dogs. They've been bred with other species in weird ways so much that they are riddled with health defects. A very common one is heart troubles, I've looked after and cared for my 2 dogs very well but the eldest still suffers from a heart murmur which gets worse with passing years. Another problem which isn't too common but has happened with the youngest one is that there brain gets to big for their skull so it squishes which causes seizures and abnormal activity, this can be reduced with medication and may even go away.
2. They are generally a bit dumb compared to other dog species, some Cavaliers are worse than others but when they are dumb they can be VERY dumb.
3. They will eat ANYTHING even if dangerous. This ties into the dumb thing, a Cavalier with continue to eat even if they are full. But worse they eat solid non edible objects. Bobbles, paper, rubber bands, lego anything small they will eat. I almost lost my youngest dog when he ate a ball of tin foil while going for a walk in the park, he couldn't pass it and required dangerous surgery to remove it.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are very nice dogs but have a lot of problems as adults.
Mine is INCREDIBLY dumb and try’s to eat the wall. No joke. Lovely dogs though, so gentle and kind.

this is very true! we have two - the eldest is a bit tubby and slow, and very very lazy. she also has some troubles with her back legs and hips these days. she’s always very gentle though and gives so many kisses! 😍🥰

best type of dog there is. getting a tricolour next year ! im over here just watching every puppy surprise and what to get for one. the babas have such sensitive teeth so obvi need lots of sensitive treats and toys. i had one that passed about 3 years ago , its so sad i was so broken but I BEGGED AND BEGGED and my parents have finally agreed to get one next year !

This is my dream dog breed. But my family works full time from 8-5 and school from 9-3 and these dogs have social anxiety. I’m very sad that I’ll be unable to have this dog because everything else fits my lifestyle and concerns perfectly.
