Our small group just finished reading The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom. No more is that apparent in that book and her life how much they treasured the Word of God and depended on it daily to get through insane trials. We have no idea and are quite spoiled by comparison, but hey, let’s sing another round of “Reckless Love…” 🫠😐

Andy, in my opinion, appears to be an angry, bitter “preachers son” who is getting back at his dad by distorting Christianity because he actually hates Christianity. He has to be different than his dad just to sock it to him. The sad part, is that he is leading people astray and he will pay dearly for it when he stands before Christ, and unfortunately so will his flock for not truly studying and learning the truth of God’s word. There is such a lack of discernment in the American church today, that I scratch my head over it in disbelief. We need to pray for these gullible people who go to these types of churches.

It wasn't until my late 30's that someone unapologetically told me that people that practice fornication and sexual sin will not inheret the kingdom of God and God is not going to wink at me and tell me it's ok because I'm special, only then did I feel the fear of the Lord and thank God! Now that I'm not all blinded by sin I can see that, not only, my greatest potential to do good for Gods glory but also my greatest intimacy with God will only come when I practice a sanctified life.

"There would have been no point to the cross" - with respect, that is also non-Biblical Augustinian teaching. @@CatfishHeaven777 The the facts have been out there in public for many years now.
*Charles Stanley admitted to neglecting his family when he became pastor of 1st Baptist Atlanta.
*Charles' wife, while they were married, suddenly needed to have fairly major surgery. Charles was scheduled to go on a Christian cruise where he was the featured teacher. His wife begged him to stay with her through the surgery. He refused, and went on the cruise, leaving his wife to face it alone.
*Stanley and his son went to a SECULAR psychologist to learn how to get along together. Not even to a Christian. To an unbeliever.
*This was "needed" because of what Andy Stanley (who is a full-blown heretic) described as their "screaming matches".
*During the period that Andy was a co-pastor (or whatever they called him) at his father's church, they could barely speak to each other.
*Stanley's wife first separated from him, then divorced him. She never remarried. (There was no suggestion of adultery by either of them.)
*Stanley promised to step down if she divorced him.
*He did not step down. (Which makes him an oath breaker.)
Although, to her credit, Mrs. Stanley kept quiet about the details of her leaving, it would be a very surprising thing if the "screaming matches" (that's a direct quote from Andy) were only between father and son.
Charles Stanley demonstrated that his priorities are not God's priorities when he did not keep his promise to resign if she divorced him. Even though his marriage was a shambles, he never even paused in his "ministry". He never even took a small break! A godly man would have been ashamed to continue with a public ministry after the breakup of his home. Charles Stanley showed no shame. It was all brushed off as just, "Well, these things happen."
God makes clear that the family life is THE first qualification for ministry. Charles Stanley's actions made it clear that his speaking gift was the only qualification he thought he needed.
Further, Stanley's ministry, while not unsound in the sense that he held evil doctrine, was shallow at best. The fruit of this is seen in his son. He didn't teach the Scriptures, he gave 'Christian' pep talks.

I was an atheist, converted away from atheism in 1993. I do jot understand these teachers trying to 'fit in' with secular intellectuals by diluting the text, attacking literalist and over playing 'fundamentalist'.
Yes, we should believe in the fundamentals of the predominant historical nature of the text, tye very real and historical interaction of God and man in real time. Death and decay came as a result of Gods judgement of Adams sins. The flood, Babel, The Patriarchs, Joseph, Moses, the Exodus, Saul and David, Esther, Daniel, The Gospeks, Acts.....the prophets and Revelation.
That Jesus return is literal and physical.
That there will be a new heaven and earth after the Millennium. And the lost will experience, sadly, an eternal existence in the outer darkness.
As an ex-atheist, I do not see why this is so hard. The Bible is true, Jesus is The Truth.

Andy Stanley is the absolute definition of wolf in sheep's clothing. I live in the Atlanta area, and I've been to one of his churches a few times with family (who luckily I finally convinced to leave), and know plenty of people who attend. What people need to realize about the North Point church network is that it is a business masquerading as a church. What truly makes Stanley the wolf in sheep's clothing is his carefully crafted persona. He isn't blatant about his intentions like a Copeland or Osteen, opting to dress down and pretend it's not about the money. However, look where his churches are built! Every single one, including the one that is currently under construction in Cobb County is in a highly affluent area. Notice also that they do not perform a single act of charity that isn't captured on camera. I have never seen that church once help anyone in a situation that couldn't be used to gain publicity. As a matter of fact, one of the people I know attended there for years, and when they had a personal emergency and asked the church for assistance, was rejected and told that they needed financial counseling instead.
Mr. Stanley is selling his church through a phony persona and a weak message that rejects the Word.

Like if they have a habitual sin - dont they have to turn that over to Him? I asked her what do you tell someone who has a gay marriage if they ask you what do I have to do to become saved? This is the first time I have seen this channel and while I totally agree I am still a fan of Andy Stanley mainly because it was catching Andy on TV in the middle of the night some 10 to 12 years ago that brought me back to the truth. It is a bigger discussion but I believe he reaches people like me in the way he delivers his messages. I am today a fully committed miracle, gospel, Bible-believing student/reader of C.S. Lewis, Tim Keller, Cliff Knechtel, Sean McDowell, Gary Habermas, and many others that I owe a lot of that to the fire that Andy lit in my life.

I ask this respectfully, but do you read and study the Bible yourself, or do you mainly follow these teachers?

Thank you Todd for being faithful in exposing Andy Stanley's faithless teachings. If not for the Holy Spirit and the Word that goes out in spite of heretical teaching of man we would be lost.

I would go so far as to confidently say that how Stanley conducts himself with his effeminate mannerisms & whole persona is a sin; see 1 Corinthians 6:9.
That’s not to say that all men are biblically commanded to act like John Wayne or James Hetfield, but certainly are to act biblically masculine.

Let me guess. He thinks homosexual who haven't repented will be saved.

This is nightmarish discussion. I was told the story of Jesus could be understood by a child. When did it get so complicated.

I would think that anyone would skirt past Our Lord and not be subject to The Wedding Parable in Matthew, being that to be born again into Christ is to live through Christ. The gate is narrow for a reason, we owe everything to God Our Father, Christ Our Lord, and The Holy Spirit.

Thank you for the clear analysis. Andy Stanley was initially trusted because of his father. He is an effective communicator but he reveals his positions only after the people allowed him within their lives, thus misleading many. Had he been clearly classified, evangelicals would not have trusted him.
