Looks like many of the same principles as open canoeing, but you wouldn't see me try that on a glorified surf board. Good show old bean.

Yeah its weird, you cant do a j turn like a canoe you have to put the blade in at an angle and steer at the start to compensate for the stroke, its nice being up high, but vary tiring on feet and legs,
