Of course the company trying to sell their lenses will say nothing else works but replacement. To be fair, he did not show the proper way to use toothpaste on the glasses. Use regular white toothpaste like Colgate. You should never use cloth to wipe toothpaste off. Use some newspaper and take your time. Works great.
I found a pair of Oakley Holbrooks in the surf. The sand had seriously scratched the outside of the lenses. The reflective coating wasn't recoverable so I used already blunt 800 grit, wet n dry sand paper under running water to remove scratches and unfortunately the reflective coating. Then used autosol metal polish to reduce scratches from sanding, then baking soda/water solution to reduce scratches further. I finished off with a coat of turtle wax and they're now damn near perfect. The tint on the inside of the lense is in tact so they function fine as sunglasses, they're just not reflective on the outside 👍
I had a second attempt at it. This time I polished horizontally rather than swirls. Admittedly if I valued my time as an hourly rate it'd be cheaper to buy new lenses but they are now basically perfect. Took maybe 3-4 hours.
Dude, seriously just send them to Revant for new lenses or have Revant send you lenses. They’re cheap. Mine are prescription and Revant hooked me up and now I can use my Juliet shades.
