Seriously, you haven't really heard this album until you've watched the reputation stadium tour movie. Trust us. It elevated every song and turns them up to 13
If you think you were flabbergasted, imagine the fans. we had no idea what we were in for. She did zero press at all for this album and had been on a break for a year, we don’t really know how she was doing or what she’d been up to, she deleted everything off her instagram and posted a video of a snake hissing. The clearing her throat at the at the beginning of Ready For It is because she literally hadn’t said anything in so long.
i remember exactly where i was when she release look what you made me do as the first single of this album, i remember being in the trenches before rep’s release defending taylor amidst the whole kanye/kim bullshit, and i remember going to rep tour and seeing all this stuff live. whenever people as me why reputation is my favorite taylor swift album, all i can say is YOU HAD TO BE THERE. it’s all fucking incredible and i’m so excited for rep tv whenever it comes out
Fingers crossed. I’m a big Midnights stan, like it’s my number 1 favorite Taylor album, but Midnights is very restrained and subdued as an album and not as “in your face frantic and aggressive” as the production of reputation. I’m actually quite nervous for his reaction on the remaining 5 albums because it’s very different from rep.
@@nixllamas9823 a midnights stan? Me too! 😭 it's my favorite album only after ttpd, I actually think he'll love it, maybe not all of it you're right, I see it as as a mix between 1989/rep so it'll probably be mixed. I actually think he wont like lover at all since I had the same taste (became her fan with rep, didnt really vibe with alot of lover, loved folk more and midnights and ttpd)
Lover is polarizing, the highs are high, but oh boy the lows of that album is so beneath the ground low (aka most of the singles lol). I love Midnights because I like the synthpop dreampop genre, but most importantly I love that album’s creative concept and aesthetic. Sleeplessness? Stars? Sparkles? Space? Sign me up!
“This one is my favorite” me smiling at my screen while watching, cause that statement alone beats grammys snubbing this album of the nomination for AOTY
Taylor won in the end, despite them snubbing rep lol. Lover being the top selling album of 2019, folklore was a chef’s kiss genre switch AOTY, evermore while underrated is loved by the fans, Midnights and TTPD: both record breaking. Let’s also add the success of the rerecordings and Eras tour, so yeah Taylor had the last laugh in the end lol.
Look What You Made Me Do was the FIRST single from this album. I wasn't even a fan at the time, but I still very clearly remember the day that video dropped. The entire world was like "What the fuck is this?"
I was grounded when rep dropped, 13 years old, snuck downstairs to listen to it on the lowest volume while sitting on the kitchen floor. wasn’t even a huge fan at the time, as I had literally JUST gotten into exploring mainstream music after being raised on my parents 70’s-80’s music. after that she was in all my playlists. fast forward to when midnights dropped, I initially didn’t like it but went back and it ended up becoming a favorite. that’s when I decided that I needed to back through her entire discography and listen to her other music that I thought I didn’t like. at the time Red was one of my least favs, now it’s probably top 3. I can now proudly (embarassingly?? 😅) say that I can name 99% of her songs by the first few seconds, and I know pretty much all the words to every single song (including features and movie songs) aside from a few on debut and fearless (and her christmas album, don’t kill me). I love debut more than fearless (no hate to fearless she slays) but I can’t do her baby voice especially after listening to only taylor’s version so I’m SUPER excited for debut TV. anyway you didn’t ask for this but I needed to share 😭😭😭
REP stans now is our time! During the reputation era is when I became a Taylor Swift fan and let me tell you it gets slept on. The REP tour was everything!
I believe Taylor stopped working with Max Martin because he demands writing credits despite doing none of the writing. This was revealed in a court case where he had to admit to a jury that he did not actually have any hand in writing lyrics for Shake It Off but it's in his contract that he gets writing credits for anything he produces(over the years, many have sued Taylor and Max by claiming they stole 'players gonna play' from at least 2 dozen other songs by now[all lawsuits failed btw]). Taylor is over giving people for things they didn't actually help with. However, even the most minor suggestion or change gets a credit. Zoe Kravitz even has writing credits on songs on Midnights because she was with Taylor in the studio and gave a few pointers. So, it's not like Max is being jipped. He just wasn't helping with the writing.
Yes I kind of figured that from before, when she had those addendums to her 1989 album. And she played the clip of when she played her song Blank Space to Max Martin for the first time. And it was clearly already written. And then she said, and then Max Martin added in an "Oh!". Ha ha. So I can tell even at the time, she was mocking him, like okay, all he added in was an oh, lol.
And that's why I've never liked Max. He's great as a producer, but very greedy. Also, what about Shellback or Ilya Salmanzadeh (I might've misspelled his name)? Do they require writing credits too? Cause if not, she should start working with them again, they're as good as Max
@@wazowski6602 I'm still wondering what exactly happened to Sellback. He appears as a producer on Wildest Dreams tv so when he came out I was like "oh okay we still have Sellback, we're safe" but then he didn't appear on the whole album 🙃 I was hoping he would at least be in the studio for Shake it off tv, blank space tv and style tv. I'm not happy with that Christopher Rowe
basically he produced wildest dreams tv because taylor released it in 2021 and at that time she was re-recording red and on the songs that shellback had had produced on red in 2012, he went back and re-produced them. so while he was working on red tv, he kinda did the same thing for wildest dreams. so why didn’t he reproduce 1989? i think we’ll never know.
Ready for it was the tour opener. The performance is everything you'd expect. The version with the tour intro must be watched! End Game benefits from the music video, as the live only has her segements, the MV has Ed Sheeran and Future I did something bad is a pivotal live in her progression, as she along with Ready for it, continue to mature and refine her choreography and performance skills DONT BLAME ME!!! The live is a must watch!
She played this on Jimmy Fallon's show on the date he came back after his mom died. Before her performance he told a story about how as a teen who didn't want his mom to be demonstrative she would walk with him to the store and squeeze his hand three times to let him know she loved him. Then Taylor sings this--'you squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi.' The TEARS on Fallon's face, the hug after--it was incredibly moving.
This has become my favorite first time listening series in a long time - I LOVE when people actually care about the lore because it’s why we’ve all been here for almost 20 years lol. Thanks for giving each album a chance and spending real time getting to know it 🥲
ok so suggestion for the performances reaction stream for this album is DEFINITELY - i did something bad - don't blame me performances from the reputation stadium tour film specifically.
I was on the live but I gotta rewatch the moments you were gagged and being flabbergasted by this album 😂 Didn't expect you to be a Rep stan, tho. Wonder if this'll dethrone Debut for you. The ranking at the end of your Taylor journey will be funnn. EDIT: It's still funny how the newer folks on the chat weren't sure if you're liking the songs or not
reputation is one of my favorites because even though yes it’s a “hard” album in terms of her coming back and not caring anymore, it shows SUCH a soft, in love, vulnerable side too. So it’s such a fun story of her life at the time
You should definitely watch the Reputation Tour at some point, seeing this album live with the visuals really helped sell me on it (and sell me on some of the songs I initially wasn't sure about)
Rep is my favorite, and Ready For It is probably my second favorite of hers of all time, thank you SO much for the reaction of getting to see you mind blown about that! You loved all the underrated songs I stan for, this was EVERYTHING, thank you so much! You neeeeeed to see the Rep Tour for sure, but if not that at *least* the Reputation chunk of Eras if you're not planning to watch that for us (but you should!). The string of Ready For It, I Did Something Bad, and Don't Blame Me on Reputation Tour is PEAK touring up till Eras.
The fact that you know enough to stop and comment before the drop! Instead of after/during the middle of is thoroughly appreciated. I know you’re ACTUALLY LISTENING And honestly I really enjoy watching people interpret her endless talent. Let alone the entire album! Good on ya 😊👍 Makes me feel it all over again. ❤️ ✌️
Help I hadn’t even noticed the moan in king of my heart until now and now I can’t unhear it 😂 I thought I liked the acoustic better but now I’m gonna have to sit with this.
I was sooo hyped but also scared about this reaction coming up, because Rep just is MY ALBUM. I love it so much and I think there will never be another album like it for me. All of this to say, I'm really really glad you liked it. And as many others have already pointed out, the Reputation Tour is so good, you should definitely watch it. And if you are interested in music production I would also highly recommend the "making of a song" series about this album, it's so fun.
We all basically lost our shit when this came out 😂 we support her with any album, just give us more! Great reaction, she really is an amazing musician and person!
For live performances I would recommend: Dear John, The story of us and Haunted from the Speak Now tour Intro + ready for it + I did something bad from Reputation tour Don't blame me and Look what you made me do, My tears ricochet and Marjorie or Champagne problems from Eras (honestly pretty much the entire tour is a must see) Out of the Woods from 1989 tour Exile from long pond sessions (or whatever you like from Folklore) Wildest Dreams from the grammy museum Cornelia Street live from Paris Can't stop loving you cover in BBC live lounge Cardigan/August/Willow from the Grammys
With Look What You Made Me Do, I didn’t really understand until I watched the music video with it, it completely leveled it up especially when you have the backstory for it!
your reactions trip me up. you listen and i think you won't like it but then it's just you being in awe or surprised. lol. you should watch the reputation stadium tour.
I once saw a UA-cam comment that said : "She went from Shake It Off to Take It Off real quick", in reference to Dress, and I have never laughed harder at a comment
I maintain that Dancing With Our Hands Tied itself felt a little lost in the sauce. The subject matter/lyrics were so dissonant with the production/music itself - and not in the intentionally contrasting way, like she does in some other songs (like Anti-Hero and some others you'll come across soon) - that it felt incredibly jarring to me. Hearing it acoustic in the rep tour kinda really changed it for me - I *vastly* prefer it acoustic. (side note, please watch that one once you're done with TTPD, as well as the eras tour film!) Loving your reactions so far, thank you for taking the time and seriously engaging with the music the whole way through! And I absolutely love that you're a SSSS (Stay Stay Stay Stan), really looking forward to seeing your reaction to a similarly silly track in an upcoming album 😉
“As you can tell by the title, I am a straight white male” Bro even if I couldn’t read lol, I’d know. And yes, I know I was in the livestream chat but I’m still gonna watch this again because I have a sparkly mushy goldfish brain and it’ll be just as fun the second time around 😂
I know I made a ton of comments, but watching someone with a genuine open mind, realise how much work and craft Taylor puts into her music, is a wonderful thing, Even when the decide she's not for them.
This album is when I became a Swiftie, and went back to catch up. The Reputation Live Tour is the biggest regret of my life...by which I mean, I didn't see it live. She was accused of being a snake by a certain bronze, spray-tanned statue, who released an edited and illegally recorded tape. Whatevs, I'm sure it's been explained. They broke her good girl, and created a beast. I will always be team Taylor.
1:17:15 haha, this reminds me of the time Kim kardashian blocked me on Instagram. I was in high school when reputation dropped, so I was quite immature at the time. I went on Kim’s latest Instagram post and commented a lyric from This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things (“and therein lies the issue, friends don’t try to trick you, get you on the phone and mind twist you”). I was pretty proud to learn that I got blocked by her after my comment started getting some likes. Idk about Kanye, but Kim K was definitely shitting herself listening to that song.
Gorgeous is about Tom Hiddleston, aka Loki from the Marvel Universe. Calvin Harris is a SCOTTISH DJ and producer. You'll know his songs if you hear them. The king of the collab.
This is one of my favorite albums, tied in 2nd place with Midnights, TTPD is #1, so it was in my top spot for awhile 😂 it’s a no skip album for me, New Years Day is my favorite! I get to see her on November 3rd, so I’m hoping for that as a SS!
Thank you, Jerry for listening to Reputation! I will always be a Reputation girl but Folklore is definitely something else. I can't wait for you to listen to it!
In the same way that Taylor has grown in her artistry, I feel like Jack has grown right along with her. I personally like a lot of his contributions in her later albums. I think he really shines on Midnights.
The reputation tour live videos are crazy!!! She performs with a live band paired with the base...and she really belts in some of her songs. She can put on a perfpormamce!!
I think Reputation brings in more new fans than Folklore to be honest… even my friends who are a hater before start listening to her entire discography because of Reputation And this is one album that aged incredibly well compare to her other albums like every songs on this record kinda gets a sudden resurgence on tiktok
dude there are sooo many good music videos you need to watch PLEASE. the all too well short film, bad blood mv, the man!!! so many. highly recommend doing a taylor MV stream
I also agree you need to watch the rep stadium tour! The eras tour set for rep is also incredible! I watched this one first and i'm going through all your other taylor videos but in the fearless one you said you prefer upbeat songs in general and I'm the same way so I think you'll enjoy Midnights and lover because those have great upbeat songs!! "I think he knows" is my favorite off of lover and its impossible for me to be sad listening to it, it's just so infectiously joyful
reputation is my favorite album too, I'm glad to find someone who enjoys the album as much as I do.I don't know if you were a fan of One Direction but I would like you to react to their albums and upload them here or also Sabrina's latest album, please 🥺
Rep was the first full album I listened from Tay! Loved it at first listen! And still do - can’t wait for Rep TV❤❤ BUT YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE TOUR MOVIE!!! You must!
Bahhaha! Came here cause you have on a Tool shirt 😂 I love Tool and Taylor ❤ my favs. I was actually saying to myself today "self, if tool and taylor did a collab, i might die dead". As for next live... You NEEEEED to do the live 1989 rock version of "We are never ever getting back together".
Are you ready for it + intro live from the Reputation tour is off the charts!! She is a little more badass 😊 live version from the VMA’s I did something bad is a great performance.
the reputation tour movie, is what turned me into a swiftie. i liked her before, but reputation, showed me she will fight back and be a force to be reckoned with. and shes a brilliant song writer. the easter eggs, everything. nothing is on accident, and i love the mystery of it all. the sound of reputation, is sheer "eff you" energy and i love it
I’ve always been for a Reputation girlie myself. The album became even better once I understood the context and reason behind the album. I am so excited for when Rep TV is released, but it’s going to be interesting adjusting to a slightly different sound 😅.
Also reputation was a " in the death of her reputation she felt truly alive". She had that written on tour at the very very end when the fireworks and long finale stopped. Her music videos displayed this story. 1st music video she pops up from the grave. Last shot for last video for Delicate was her smiling and free. Also "there will be no further explanation only reputation". She didnt speak on any of the songs, their meaning, no interviews, not answering any questions. She took control of the narrative by making her own article for elle magazine. It was a very important era for her before turning 30 and she lived her life very differently. away from the public eye.
The Reputation tour is a MUST WATCH. You will be blown away.
I thought nothing could beat Rep Tour in terms of live performances (and maaaaybe nothing does) but holy fucking shit the chunk of Rep on Eras...

For live performances I would recommend:
Dear John, The story of us and Haunted from the Speak Now tour
Intro + ready for it + I did something bad from Reputation tour
Don't blame me and Look what you made me do, My tears ricochet and Marjorie or Champagne problems from Eras (honestly pretty much the entire tour is a must see)
Out of the Woods from 1989 tour
Exile from long pond sessions (or whatever you like from Folklore)
Wildest Dreams from the grammy museum
Cornelia Street live from Paris
Can't stop loving you cover in BBC live lounge
Cardigan/August/Willow from the Grammys
Great reaction man! As a lifelong Swiftie, I’m really enjoying this journey with you! Keep being yourself and having fun! Welcome to the fam! 🫶🏽
With Look What You Made Me Do, I didn’t really understand until I watched the music video with it, it completely leveled it up especially when you have the backstory for it!
blairwoode23 in chat, idk who you are but I love you. "LET'S GO RATS" HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH
your reactions trip me up. you listen and i think you won't like it but then it's just you being in awe or surprised. lol. you should watch the reputation stadium tour.
i don’t get the end game haters bro i mess with that song so heavy
New Year’s Day Is such a beautiful closer one of my favourites forrr surreeee
I once saw a UA-cam comment that said : "She went from Shake It Off to Take It Off real quick", in reference to Dress, and I have never laughed harder at a comment
Yeah, you definitely need to watch the opening of the Reputation tour film (intro + Ready for It) and Don't Blame Me.
(side note, please watch that one once you're done with TTPD, as well as the eras tour film!)
Loving your reactions so far, thank you for taking the time and seriously engaging with the music the whole way through! And I absolutely love that you're a SSSS (Stay Stay Stay Stan), really looking forward to seeing your reaction to a similarly silly track in an upcoming album 😉
Which similar silly track are you referring to? I'm curious 😅
@@woolfric Anti-hero: Happy beat but sad lyrics
ICDIWABH: Happy beat but sad lyrics
Can't think of anything else lol
This album is Taylor's Magnum opus for me.
Eras Tour Reputation set along with Reputation stadium Tour intro plus ready for it
"Primal drumming!" Yeah? Wait 'til you see the Reputation Tour Live version. HUGE drums. 🎉
“As you can tell by the title,
I am a straight white male”
Bro even if I couldn’t read lol,
I’d know.
And yes,
I know I was in the livestream chat but I’m still gonna watch this again because I have a sparkly mushy goldfish brain and it’ll be just as fun the second time around 😂
Excited but nervous for your reaction 😅
1:17:15 haha, this reminds me of the time Kim kardashian blocked me on Instagram. I was in high school when reputation dropped, so I was quite immature at the time. I went on Kim’s latest Instagram post and commented a lyric from This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things (“and therein lies the issue, friends don’t try to trick you, get you on the phone and mind twist you”). I was pretty proud to learn that I got blocked by her after my comment started getting some likes. Idk about Kanye, but Kim K was definitely shitting herself listening to that song.
Hahahaha!!!!!
I am absolutely feral for Rep TV vault tracks 🐍
Gorgeous is about Tom Hiddleston, aka Loki from the Marvel Universe.
Calvin Harris is a SCOTTISH DJ and producer. You'll know his songs if you hear them. The king of the collab.
This is one of my favorite albums, tied in 2nd place with Midnights, TTPD is #1, so it was in my top spot for awhile 😂 it’s a no skip album for me, New Years Day is my favorite! I get to see her on November 3rd, so I’m hoping for that as a SS!
Love this TTPD appreciation!!🤍
@@pattie5408 it’s a masterpiece :)
She can put on a perfpormamce!!
that "gorgeous" prediction was so good LOL
I think Reputation brings in more new fans than Folklore to be honest… even my friends who are a hater before start listening to her entire discography because of Reputation
And this is one album that aged incredibly well compare to her other albums like every songs on this record kinda gets a sudden resurgence on tiktok
dude there are sooo many good music videos you need to watch PLEASE. the all too well short film, bad blood mv, the man!!! so many. highly recommend doing a taylor MV stream
Ready for it, I did something bad, don't blame me, king of my heart on Reputation tour are unreal.
someone said "i need a face translator" 😭😭😭
He is impossible to read, or I don't get him yet, poker face, he should be a professional gambler
i went from a rep girl to folklore/evermore to an anthology girly and i think you mayyyy be the same but we’ll see!!!
Someone on live said child labour intro for Gorgeous I'm dying
😂😂😂😂😂
reputation is my favorite album too, I'm glad to find someone who enjoys the album as much as I do.I don't know if you were a fan of One Direction but I would like you to react to their albums and upload them here or also Sabrina's latest album, please 🥺
Wind in my hair I was there (in the chat) I remember it all too well
1:05:02 This is the highest note she's ever hit in her career 🎤
will forever be a rep Stan 🖤
The track 5 "theory" is not a theory. She confirmed it multiple times.
How did I just *know* Jerry B would be a rep girlie? Because. That’s why. Been waiting for this reaction and it did not disappoint. 🔥🔥🔥
That haircut it’s giving daddy👁️👄👁️
💀
Omg your faces throughout this whole reaction and especially “Look what you made me do” had me cackling 😂😂😂
I’ve always loved This is why we can’t have nice things! I think it’s so fun, I try not to overthink it 🤷🏼♀️
Are you ready for it + intro live from the Reputation tour is off the charts!! She is a little more badass 😊 live version from the VMA’s I did something bad is a great performance.
GOD i can’t wait for folkmore
All you have to do is ask Google for the album called reputation live , Or asked for these songs on the eras tour live.❤❤ Love it.
Omg im so early! Love your videos btw, i’m so excited for folklore, its my favourite
the reputation tour movie, is what turned me into a swiftie. i liked her before, but reputation, showed me she will fight back and be a force to be reckoned with. and shes a brilliant song writer. the easter eggs, everything. nothing is on accident, and i love the mystery of it all. the sound of reputation, is sheer "eff you" energy and i love it
I’ve always been for a Reputation girlie myself.
IM SO *READY FOR THIS*
I can't wait for you to hear ttpd with how eloquently she doesn't care! It's such a vibe
