That first guy has literally no idea what he's doing and clearly just net-decked the Drytron list without even researching how to play it, and also ruined it by forcing in pet cards like Chaos Max. Drytron Fairies can start their combo from even a single card (out of a large number of combo starter cards in their deck), set up a full board of 6 monsters, one being Herald and another being I:P, as well as ending with 4+ cards in hand, 2 of which being two copies of Orange Light. They can also always recover near fully from even having their whole board wiped. It is the single most un-fun decklist in the game right now, and Benten and Eva need to both be Forbidden asap.
Excuse me. Herald Is actually cool on HIS Own, in his own Dedicated Fairy Ritual Deck. Which is how he was always meant to be played. A good deck but not ever supposed to be THIS good. The problem is that Drytron herald can do Herald Better than a Dedicated Herald Fairy Build can do itself. Why Konami allowed this I'll never understand. Drytron generic effects and ability to summon any ritual was a massive mistake and is the epitome of the problem. Herald is a powerful card balanced and offset by how hard it is to maintain the fairy hand advantage. Like I said it was always meant to be good and powerful but never truly oppressive and broken. Drytron have now caused herald to seem like cancer when it's their own cancerous abilities that is making herald look like the problem. I don't even play my fairy ritual Deck anymore because drytron have soured the idea of Herald for me, and he was always one of my favorite cards since I got into the game. Fairy is my favorite type and I've been rocking herald since highschool when I used to play Agents Herald with Master Hyperion from Lost Sanctuary SD which was my first SD. Back then my friends were always stressed when I summoned herald but it never was an automatic win, my friends respected herald as a proper boss monster and we use to have good fun going back and forth in duels those days. No one ever thought herald was a cancerous card even when ultimateness first came out and now like I said the only reason people are calling him cancer is because of drytron.
Usually for Drytron that don’t have many cards in hand using Ash to negate the Monster Effect in GY is best (since Drytrons tribute for cost). Anyways good vid

That usually corner them pretty badly since it's 1 for 3 cards and pretty easy target for all handtraps (Imperm, Veiler, Ash Blossom, whatever) then if you can effect veiler / Imperm their Beta Fafnir.. that'll kill their entire combo for that turn. But Diviner of The Herald took priority. Unless they got lucky and top deck Herald of Ultimateness this is the card that will give them access to Herald of Ultimateness lockdown Their next Plan B Will be summoning Meteonis Draconis which is why if you can imperm/veil Mu Beta fafnir It'll stop their plan B.. but Meteonis Draconis is way WAY more manageable than omni-negate Herald. But if they can't usually they just surrender at this point. Well even if they "only" summon Meteonis Draconis it might be annoying to clear for some follower based deck so yeah pray you have Lighnting Storm or something in hand to clear it.

This duel reminds me of a duel i had against a virtual world player who insist on making VFD despite me having apex avian on board. He could have attacked with Shenshen before going into VFD on mp2 or activate Qinglong to force my avian activation. But it is interesting how some players who arent as exeprienced with a deck can get tunnel vision with how a deck should be played, like in that drytron game.
Drytron has graveyard effects that lets them constantly summon monsters back to the field as long as they have a drytron/ritual monster in their hand or field. The graveyard mind as well be another extra deck for Drytron players.
The longest I took a Drytron player was turn 56. I locked him down but I ran out of cards first because I didn’t use a 60 card deck like him. Unfortunate, but I’ll take it to waste a Drytron player’s time
OCG's fault for not banning the dumb and stupid cards of the format that aren't usually as played. If I remember correctly they even let Endymion/Tempest Magician,one of the most consistent FTK decks in the game's history like ever,run rampant all the way until like almost a year later. Idk maybe the japanese are built different,but they just flat out refuse to ban ftk enablers the same way the TCG does.

Even the term OTK isn't meta as those refer to going second board break decks, ala Lunalight, Cydra, Crusadia, Pure-Bird, etc. The 10+ minute long board building meta decks, Dryton, Tri-Zoo, Adama, etc, are Combo-Lockdown and a form of Turbo. I think other decks are Control-Lockdown, e.x. Eldlich, and Control-Grind, e.x. Sky Strikers, Live Twin, Dragonmaid(?). Anyway a lot of terms change over releases.

Also there's another combo with code talker that ends on the normal end board with iblee and an extra tri gate negate with the same 2 card combo, lady debug and micro coder. Debug and link infra flier works as well, as long as you get to micro coder. You normal debug,, then get either micro or your generic extender (whichever you didn't open) make code talker then transcode, get the normal search off the cynet codec, that being code generator.. then you make another code talker, using transcode plus code generator to search iblee, summon inverted under the code talker in the right emz using the bottom code talker and the dotscaper you sent with code generator, summon formud, use code talker and formud to get out excode in the middle zone. Then grab gatchiri and your parallel exceeds. Summon out gatchiri and link into firewall using excode and gatchiri. Summon your exceeds. Use the exceed beside firewall and the inverted for tri gate. Summon iblee and link her into talk back in the right emz, link the other exceed into link devotee, tribute it to reborn excode, then use devotee to get 2 tokens. Link both into the salamangreat link 1 and search the field spell, then link the salad not in the emz into secure Gardena beside the tri gate

I play monarchs just to make the dryton players cry. Can't negate my cards if you can't special summon 20 times in one turn, and you cant negate a normal summon with drytons.

Drytrons aren't bad, they are actually okay, but as always, Konami has to make the busted cards generic or viable in other archetypes than its own. If they made the Drytron ritual spell only work in their own archetype, we wouldn't see this Herald shenanigans But while Drytron basically turbos out Herald of Ultimateness, Eva is significantly worse because they get to recycle their negates for free. There is a reason why Eva is banned in the TCG and Heralds practically don't exist there Konami just needs to hit Eva and Benten with the banhammer, leave Drytrons alone smh

Usually when this happens I let myself lose by time out. They need 3 mins to setup that whole shit and then you can't play, well, I don't want you to play either then. I show them how it feels to play a game without playing it.
1. You’re wasting as much of your own time as u r theirs so actually u aren’t accomplishing anything just like in life 2. Main deck board breakers and hand traps. If u don’t draw traps u can at least fuck their field on ur turn or force them to waste negates 3. Imagine being this salty
Tips for those just learning Drytrons, if you win the toss and go turn 1, all u need in your opening hand is alpha and zeta and the combo is a wrap, best would be alpha, zeta, and at least one fairy, monster. Your opening combo should always be, alpha to zeta then get benten, zeta to benten get diviner, xyz summon mu beta using alpha and zeta and send gamma to GY, sumon diviner send arc light get ultimateness, summon ultimateness and if you did it right ultimateness should be your 5th summon and this way if you get nibirud you can negate it and continue your combo. Bring out Benten, then xyz summon beatrice, activate her discard diviner, then send eva, and banish diviner and arc light to get two more negates, then you can summon gamma by tributing mu beta and bringing out two more drytrons out to link summon union carrier and equip eva to him.

Usually when this happens I let myself lose by time out. They need 3 mins to setup that whole shit and then you can't play, well, I don't want you to play either then. I show them how it feels to play a game without playing it.
1. You’re wasting as much of your own time as u r theirs so actually u aren’t accomplishing anything just like in life
2. Main deck board breakers and hand traps. If u don’t draw traps u can at least fuck their field on ur turn or force them to waste negates

Tips for those just learning Drytrons, if you win the toss and go turn 1, all u need in your opening hand is alpha and zeta and the combo is a wrap, best would be alpha, zeta, and at least one fairy, monster. Your opening combo should always be, alpha to zeta then get benten, zeta to benten get diviner, xyz summon mu beta using alpha and zeta and send gamma to GY, sumon diviner send arc light get ultimateness, summon ultimateness and if you did it right ultimateness should be your 5th summon and this way if you get nibirud you can negate it and continue your combo. Bring out Benten, then xyz summon beatrice, activate her discard diviner, then send eva, and banish diviner and arc light to get two more negates, then you can summon gamma by tributing mu beta and bringing out two more drytrons out to link summon union carrier and equip eva to him.
