    Best Defensive player in NFL history.
    He made other teams have to change their entire playbook on the day they faced him.
    And Joe Gibbs (Division-rival Redskins HC coach at the time) actually changed his entire Offensive philosophy to deal with Taylor.

      He played high on cocaine all the time and failed numerous drug tests and was arrested and jailed a few times and his son might still be in prison? But yeah...he could run around a chase a ball.

      But he beat that for the remainder of his career.
      Your characterizing LT as a cocaine fueled maniac for his entire career is not only misinformed, but laughable.

As a person, no youngster ought to look up to him...plenty of others...and your defense of his character is what is laughable. The guy has gotten in trouble with the law most of his adult life. I remember getting arrested for an underage hooker what like 10 yrs ago.

    LT didn't even pick up a football or play for his high school team until his senior year. Yet by the end of that year, he had many full scholarships handed to him. THAT is natural talent.

    Bill Parcels will always be my all time favorite NFL coach. Everywhere he went he had success. And his coaching tree went on and had individual success elsewhere as well.

    LT was must watch football on Sundays in NYC in the 80’s! All the bars were packed and all New York football fans could not believe what they were seeing when LT was on the field! So glad I was able to watch the greatest defensive linebacker to ever play the game! LT brought it every game! Only player I would compare him to was Ray Lewis!

    LT was not only the best Defensive player in NFL history, he was genuinely terrifying to other teams in an era when there was no such thing as "Roughing the Passer".
    Taylor could take out your starting left tackle, fullback, and QB in one play. Just think about that for a second.........

      I don't think anyone before or after has just roamed the field doing it his way like LT .I wonder just how much he was playing within the scheme of the defense or just free styling it.

      There are vids about where Taylor went rouge on certain plays, and Parcells would tell him “that’s not one of our defensive calls”.
      To which Taylor told him: “Well, maybe you should put that one in..”
      Parcells ended up referring to him as “Superman” when he was Head Coach.
      That tells you something right there.

      Jim Brown is the greatest of all time. But in the SB era. It's LT and nobody is close. You are speaking 10000% facts when it comes to changing the game. LT transformed how defense AND offense is played. Had to see it to believe it.

      @@timothy4557 Tom Brady was amazing. But he didn't change the game. Brady would have to be running like Lamar Jackson to be a part of the conversation. Plus he didn't call his own plays and, like Manning and Rodgers, was protected in ways his predecessors were not. Love Brady!

      @@barryware7497 Jerry Rice played in the WC his whole career. Was catching long handoffs from guys like Joe Montana, Steve Young and Rich Gannon. Lawrence Taylor changed the way offense and defense is played. Hybrid DE/LB, shorter dropbacks, one back offenses, blocking schemes, two-tight end offenses, strip sacks, blind-side tackles... LT, LT, LT, LT, LT, LT, LT. Then there was how he played. He literally covered the whole field-lol. LT was on a whole other level. Nothing like him before or since. Or ever-lol

    They didn't talk again for 10 yrs, even though he's exaggerating there's a reason they hardly talked, LT didn't like him. The winning and him becoming a Hall O Famer is what keeps him from saying what he wants to say. Parcells is an asshole
