- Getting a Sak Yant Tattoo was honestly the most amazing, spiritual, enlightening, and terribly painful experience I have ever had.
I decided to get a Sak Yant as I feel as tourists, we can come to another country and never fully connect with the culture, putting myself through this made me realise the mental strength that monks and Buddhists have when putting themselves through physical hardship.

This was a very different kind of pain! The arm with a tattoo gun was not as painful as Sak Yant 😂 Thank you so much, it was worth the pain 🙏🏼

Could you explain about the tattoo..what does it signify...
I don’t know if I’m qualified to explain it however I’ll give it my best shot. My interpretation of this particular tattoo is to protect my body from harm, it also is to provide me with kindness and power. The small symbol in the centre was added as it is to give me happiness and good luck.
I hope I did the explanation justice.

In the old days, when Siamese(Thai) people were still at wars, they sought a way to protect themselves from guns and knives, and this Sak Yant was the way to do so. When done correctly to the rules in the mantra book, some miracles could take place. People could be bullet-proofed and knife-proofed when facing with danger if they had Sak Yant on thier bodies. Moreover, fire could not burn the skin where there was Sak Yant. However, the miracles depend on the ability of a man who do Sak Yant and the strictness of the people who have Sak Yant on their bodies to following the rules in the mantra book.
In this day, there is no war at all, Sak Yant hence has been adapted to make other miracles than bullet-proofed and knife-proofed, i.e. bringing good luck, other people's passion, or safe jouneys, etc.
