In it's time it was one of the quickest cars to 60 that you could buy. I think Road and Track got 5.3 or 5.4 seconds. Quarter mile is done around 13.8 but I've seen a 13.5. That's in the mid 90's when LS1's made a 315/325/350hp depending on the car.
Gotta love all these comments from non owners. I bought a very low mileage original USDM V160 6spd with only 41K miles to single turbo and mod it . To me, what’s the point? Sure, you have a rich punk somewhere that just buys and stores but what’s the fun in that? These cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed. I went from stock , to BPU, to single. Don’t regret a thing. Stock is just the bandwagon train everyone is on now.

Man, driving that car in stock form is like riding a unicorn. Not many people keep the supra a80 stock these days. That auto trans really fits how the car is made for, which is a grand tourer. That kickdown acceleration is impressive for a stock supra. Looks like a very enjoyable experience to drive it that way.

Actually didn't expect it to be this quick. Although it has 280hp which is more than decent people always seem to exaggerate how the weight affects it, and how the auto affects it as well so people call them slow all the time but it's no slouch. Must be real quick with the manual since the gears are quite a bit shorter since there's 6 of them.

Supra is a great car, very fast. Drivers want to drive fast enough to take full advantage of its performance. However, the speed limit on ordinary roads in Japan is 60kph(37.3mph), and even on highways the speed limit is 100kph(62.1mph). Also, highway tolls in Japan are very expensive, costing about 25 to 40 yen (1$=138JPY) per kilometer(0.62mi) I envy the Autobahn very much :) I'd like to drive a car on the autobahn someday....

320hp wasnt crazy in the 90's it was the norm for a GT, look at BMW with the M3. Now manufacturer stay at 300hp because it's pretty useless to have more on daily driver in Europe at least.

you can lower the active front spoiler by putting the ignition on start without starting the engine. then pressing the spoiler button and it will be activated manually 😊

Pretty sure the EU Spec's Active Spoiler can be manually lowered but only if you got the ignition on, won't work if it's off or running.
