Thanks for this video. I have an HP Envy x360 ee0013dx and need to replace the screen. I dropped it down the stairs and it freaks out sometimes and interprets the cracks as touch (idk how it still works as well as it does). I needed to check a video to know what I was doing and shoe my friend, who is more experienced and helping me. From now on I am going to take more precautions with my laptop, like carrying it in a padded laptop bag, and seeing if I can get a screen protector and a cover for the top (behind the display) to absorb the shock of any impacts that do happen. That housing may be made out of metal, but it does not protect the screen from being broken entirely. The first time I dropped it, it fell upside down, while closed, on hard wood flooring from a 4.5ft height. I plan to use the touch screen for drawing so I need it to function, so I will be selective about which screen protector I choose to use.
Warning: Some models have a double sided adhesive strip down each side holding the display in. If you pry on the sides without removing this you risk cracking the display. Don't ask me how I know. There are white tabs on the top ends of these adhesive strips. I think if you unclip the top and top corners of the display you can see in and pull on these tabs with narrow nose pliers. After that you can unclipped the sides. I found this tape on an x360 Envy15-ee00002na
@@browsin2007 I was taking ours apart to fix broken hinge. I scratched up the plastic case and the metal hinge and used a metal filled epoxy to glue it back in place. Seems to be holding OK.
13:50 I like to flip the laptop and lay the glass side down on a flat surface, then press the cover into the glass. I've cracked a few screens in the past pressing the glass into the cover. This way the glass is always flat and never bent, greatly reducing the chance of a crack.

I'll feel more confident now in regards to eventually replace my HP ENVY x360 screen :). btw I would've removed the protective transparent plastic film from the screen _after_ having tested it - even keep it if it doesn't interfere with the touch functionality, just to make sure to keep accidental scratches away (it's a customer's choice, and its pleasure to peel it off if that's what he/she wants - it also shows the customer that you've replaced the screen with a brand new one in a tangible manner).
i have owned the x360 15-bq1xx for years, granted i added a M2 as the main OS drive leaving the old HDD inside for extra storage and doubled the ram from 8 to 16gb, it got me through my computer science degree and runs games like GTA V smoothly with maxed out graphic settings. the fact that multiple people are having this exact issue (myself included) tells me HP screwed up somewhere along the production process. i have a screw that somehow popped out this morning when i was closing my laptop lid and the bottom left part of the screen has now popped up and when i moved the lid on the laptop some plastic pieces fell out making me think a clamp or hinge inside has broken. HP probably cut corners during the manufacturing and used a very cheap plastic.

I use my laptop constantly and would feel better about disassembling the necessary components when I'm actually completing the repair. From my experiences, the less I take stuff apart the better the end result (dong it multiple times has gotten me in trouble because I end up getting fairly comfortable with the process and it's that comfortability that causes me to have extra screws or bolts when I'm finished). On another note, watching this tutorial has completely put my mind at ease. I prefer to do all of my own repairs because you never know when that knowledge will come in handy down the road. I had to remove it to test touch. I think leaving it on will make the touch go nutso
my envy left bottom corner popped up but I can't seem to click it back in place, any suggestions?

You need to get the screen model off of the back of the screen and search for that.

When you test, test that the camera works too. It took me a week before I noticed that the camera wasn't being detected.

You need to take out the screen and match the model of the screen located on the back of the display.
