- Here's a Shrek spinoff that never should have happened. Humpty's plan makes no sense, and this is a one-note character. Oh, also there are sins.
Next week: 2 more animated sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

So this is a prequel showing Puss as a hero who won't even rob a bank and his most violent act is shaving someone, but then in Shrek 2 he's a hired assassin?
Wait yeah that's true, Harold literally paid him to kill Shrek and he followed through on it (or at least tried to)
@@emliu5000 in his show he was a bad ass. The movies not so much
You forget that Shrek is an ogre. To Puss, it was probably just a monster-slaying job, not an assassination. Perspective matters.

The movie showed that he was able to leave the shackles whenever he wanted because they were too wide to contain his hands. I demand a subtraction of a sin
I was looking in the comments for this. Cinemasins completely skipped the comedic scene where Jack (THE guy who survived the initial experience of the whole Beanstalk thing. Conveniently skipped that too...) moved his hands from his shackles and then put them back in.
Yeah, the shackles weren't even restraining his hands, he just chose to wear them because hey, it's not like he could leave the entire cell anyway.
@Tempora_Draconis ah you got me there. Fair play. Appreciate the correction :D
I mentioned this in my own sins. Go check them out.
Karen lol
13:28 "Humpty, I'm sorry I hurt you"
Humpty set Puss up, ruined his reputation, lied to him, almost got him killed several times and threw him in jail and it's Puss that has to apologize?!
yeah seems like the revenge got in his head
Exactly 🤦♀️
The manipulación tactics bruh!!
Ikr? Humpty did way worse. How did he not understand he ruined Puss' life?
Probably because Puss felt responsible for how Humpty turned out by not putting their friendship first. Yes, Humpty abused that friendship, and had unreasonable expectations of it, but Puss still felt remorseful for committing that act of betrayal in turn.
As part of the Shrek franchise, this film is actually perfect and sinless. Good try tho.
Yeah, good try!

Hey . . what's that horrible stench I smell
Nothing is perfect

At least it's better than any other movie back then, hope that the second one won't be a disappointment
I wonder how Puss in Boots went from being a hero to a hired killer? He didn't seem so valiant when he accepted the king's payment to kill Shrek.
Wait so this was before shrek? Btw have u watched the show of him?
@@ervinperez7017 you raise a good point, this could've taken place after Shrek. I can't help but wonder how he became a hired killer in the beginning though. Also no I haven't watched the show.
@@TappLuck u should watch it. I loved it more than the movie
@@ervinperez7017 Agreed. The Puss in Boots TV show has some amazingly choreographed fighting scenes, an interesting, mysterious plot, cute and fun support characters, badass villains and Puss is more flashed out and iconic than he has ever been. Honestly compared to the way Puss fights and acts in the show, movie Puss seems rather weak and generic to me
@@TappLuck it takes place before Shrek and I think Puss just needed money lol, the king literally gave him a lot of gold.
The biggest sin is how kitty and puss' Human boots stay on when cats don't have the same foot anatomy as humans
Thats why they have money in their boots
this is just cartoon physics, noone really cares about that
Can't say the same for Kitty since she's declawed, but maybe Puss digs his claws into the soles so they don't fall off.
@@gurvmlk maybe he does, that's why we haven't ever seen anyone's soles fall off in his movies.
But the biggest sin by far is at 7:05, how the hell does Puss survive what looks to be a 40,000 foot drop, and with no parachute??
@@instantchaos2385 so that explains 7:05? Even in Looneytunes physics when the coyote fell off tall cliffs, which were only 1/1000th the height of what Puss jumps off of here, the coyote looked injured, in funny Looneytunes style way, but still injured. But Puss jumps off what looks to be 40,000 feet high, and with no parachute, but he's not shown to be hurt at all! Why!?

I always noticed something that many people didn't notice: Kitty Softpaws is a ripoff of Mittens from Bolt. Think about it, both Mittens and Kitty are black and white female cats that were declawed and abandoned by their owners and they had to fend for themselves without claws. Kitty even mentions a hamster at one point, and Bolt also had a hamster named Rhino. XD
You make a valid point
The most amazing theory I ever heard....
Wow.
Oh my god, I-
Thx 4 the copypasta. ;)
13:15 ya remember one of the parts where Andy slipped his hands out of the shackles to tell Puss in Boots not to say Humpty's name and then put them back in as a natural reaction thing? It was a joke that the creators did, and him coming out with Puss furthers that joke. They didn't forget he was shackled to the wall, Andy was the one forgetting he could take his hands out

"why would they make a nursery rhyme about this?!" Jeremy has never actually listened to the words to most nursery rhymes
ring around the rosie is about the black death
@@jockeyfield1954 Often claimed such, but if you look into it you'll find it is not widely accepted by those who study the subject.
@@travissmith2848 well, i don't study the subject, but thanks for sharing, if you are a person who does study it, what is it about?
The “Falling Down” of London Bridge was satirized (originally as “Broken Down”) in song after many short-lived attempts to repair it. Thousands died and eventually the bridge was consumed by a devastating fire.
Solomon Grundy’s miserable life was condensed into one week of birth, Christening, marriage, sickness, worsened sickness, death and burial.
Mary, Queen of Scots was said to be “Quite Contrary” until she was beheaded on the 7th of February in 1587.
But I think Jeremy is a sadist who probably knows some of these origins and he merely wanted to see how many people would mention this in the comments.

One of the most interesting things in this movie is the fact that Humpty was a golden egg all along....
True
that's just a lazy philosophy that we're like all good inside or something, cmon
@@instantchaos2385 I just saw it as random shock value for the sake of shock value. Besides, gold is often associated with greed, so by being golden on the inside, that would in fact only suggest that he was rotten and greedy to the core, rather than because of any sort of problematic past.
@@gurvmlk don't think they meant it like that
@@instantchaos2385 And yet it better expresses Humpty's character. Hence why I never saw it as you suggested. I just saw it as a gag, and maybe also a reason for why Humpty so firmly believed in the legend of the golden eggs, because he was one himself on the inside, and that was kind of the source of that confidence emanating from within.

It’s so weird being a Cinema Sins fan and hating them at the same time
Honestly, they point out some good stuff I missed, and some of their jokes land, and other times it feels like they’re trying to hurt us as much as possible
Some people hate CinemaSins while others just hate who they are now. Ever since they stretched their videos, they would tell jokes like the occuring college girlfriend one and making pop culture references that have nothing to do with the movies being sinned. My point is they mix real critiques or actual problems with movies with jokes and call them all "sins". Not to mention, just like in this video, he would sin stuff he likes, and worse, even make excuses not to remove sins, like in the Robots and Rio 2 videos.
I had forgot all about this movie, I hated it as a kid because of that freaking egg. His face annoyed me 😂😭

4:18 Actually the heeled boot (and shoe) design was initially used by males, namely horse-mounted archers as it aided them in steadying themselves when firing from the saddle. The design later went onto become popular among nobles, particularly in France, until one King, I believe it was one of the Louis’, decreed that only those of his inner most circle may wear them. Then during one of the feminist movements women began wearing them as part of the movement and it pretty much goes on from there.
