It does make me happy to know you can find enjoyment in this game where I couldn't, I think I just got tired of this game engine for these games which didn't help in that case
same for me , when I feel like going on an AC run , play something I really enjoy , its either the original AC or Rouge. Not dissing anything in the franchise , its just that i really enjoy these. Not saying they are the best because they arent , I just enjoy playing them when I have a day off or something.
@Tchado1000 like I know Rogue's story isn't the best. I am aware of that. I just hate video games that go on forever, so I actually enjoy the fast pacing. I love Rogue's setting, I love running around doing nothing for ages because the world is just so pretty and I love the controls and the parkour. I'm currently playing unity, and after 50 hours of Rogue, that game just makes me aggressive. Half the time, I just yell at my screen because Arno doesn't jump to where I want him to go. Sure, I had moments like this with Shay, but far less. With Arno, I mostly just run on the ground and then run into people who get mad and then I get mad. With Shay, I never really had those problems. Idk it's just my comfort game. Is it the best AC game? Probably not. Is it the best AC game for me personally? Yeah, kinda...
@@J0hannesHannes Same here , cant say I disagree. Not all games need to be this million hour epic , sometimes I just want a good fun game with a straight up story. That's what rouge is for me. Its why I enjoy doing a run of the game almost of a yearly basis. I know what you mean man. I like the setting , the controls , the things we can do. Its a good game. Is it the best ? Oh hell no , but it works for what I want it to be and that is why im a rouge fan.
That period is AC, between 2012 to 2014 or so, was the worst period in my opinion, where all the settings were practically the same (the sole exception being AC 4 of course). Rogue would have been far better if Shay was on a negative character arc, and actually became a bad person, or at least a morally questionable one. He should have been written exactly like Anakin Skywalker in a sense. Yet, Ubisoft really wanted Shay to still be a good person, so they made Assassin's the bad guys instead, and Templars the good-ish guys. The writers should have taken a few notes from Revenge of the Sith. Regarding Assassin's Creed Unity, I actually recommend the novel adaptation far more. It follows Elise De Le Sare as the protagonist instead of Arno (thank god), and fleshes out and characterizes Elise as a character far better than the game ever did to me.
I really want to see Shay's development over the years rather than this time skip story telling they've been doing, I want to see the moments he starts to change his mindset to be the person who he becomes at the end. Also on Unity, I did hear that Arno kind of sucks but I will do what I can to not go in there biased but from the small non-spoiler things I've seen... Yeaaaah...
Thank you! I do find it funny how I can pronounce Al-Mualim a lot easier but still default to pronouncing Altair how it's pronounced in the game and not as الطائر
As a standalone game, its very lacking, but as an extra for the rebel collection, its cherry on top of the black flag cake and the freedom cry wiped cream.
Rogue needs a remake to fix its plot. It's just poorly executed. It's why this game needed to be a lot longer. I mean, sequence 5 seriously only has two memories, like what a joke.
I’ll be completely honest: I enjoyed Shay as a character myself. I won’t sit here and say that Rogue was a perfect game (tbh, I mainly watch let’s plays of Assassin’s Creed games), but I would be remiss if I said if I didn’t prefer it over Black Flag and Unity. But then again, that could just be me.
It really doesn't help the gameplay felt similar to the previous games. I am curious to try out Unity since I heard that it has the best parkour in the series at that point so I'll see if it holds true when I get there.
@@KagiGrimoire in my opinion, I think the fact that Unity was also being developed at the same time as Rogue might have had some impact on Rogue’s development.
Don't get me wrong, as a Marxist, I am in support of revolutions where people free themselves from the oppression of nobles and capitalists and know the consequences of them, my comment in the video is more so that Shay was so beaten up by the Lisbon Earthquake where thousands of people were displaced or lost their lives that he defected to the Templars and was perfectly fine starting the French Revolution which went on to have thousands of civilian casualties Also, while not Irish myself, I believe in the unification of Ireland for one big Republic of Ireland and support Sinn Féin

I SCREAMED when I saw Rogue lol
This is my comfort game

Rogue is good and underated, giving new perspective about the Creed moralty

@@Inky-Wells I doubt it. The studio that made Rogue wasn't the same that made Unity. It was clearly meant as a smaller title to PS3/X360 generation.
