Spoiler: George told Louise that he was going to stop payment on the $500 check. Regarding the $800 check, it would’ve been no good because he signed the check “Pudding”!😉
@JhomasE if the writers were on cue he could've just written the bigger check for the full amount he was gonna give instead of two checks and had "puddin" on that......
@@jandt3463 the thing was he wasn’t expecting to write two checks. Harriet had asked for $500 originally. George signed his name to that check but with the turn of events that occurred, Harriet needed more money and requested $800. That’s when he signed that second check with the word “puddin’” on it.
Spoiler alert: Upon realizing that Harriet‘s mother has been dead for more than 10 years thanks to mother Jeffersons revelation, Louise finds out the truth. Then George told Louise that he was going to stop payment on the $500 check. Regarding the $800 check, it would’ve been no good because he signed the check “Pudding”!😉
If I remember correctly, Louise refused to believe the truth. After George told her what Harriet was really up to, she started laughing and thought he was lying. The more George tried to convince her that he was serious, the harder she laughed.
I think back in those days, a kiss like that on the lips was viewed as harmless as a kiss on the cheek. It was more of kissing longer and intensely as a real kiss. A kiss on the lips today is more frowned upon
Yup stunning woman. Lilian Lehman was a stunner back in the day. she is still alive and kicking. look at that, slim and fit, that was standard in the 1970s
I need to see this full episode again. I think he told Louise the truth. And at the end of the show he said she’s gonna have a hard time cashing that check cause I signed Puddin’.
Essentially go away money, which is what husbands and surprisingly wives give there side pieces. Not money given to the side pieces for their time, but money given to them go away.
George wasn't head of his wife which if he was this wouldn't happen lol he allows Weazy to control the house and forces him to write a check to give away more money that he earned. Ridiculous smh lol

Louise is ridiculous af to me. George makes all the money, George is the one who works, how tf you gonna tell him to but out of the money you trying to give some woman you just met? It’s his money. tf
It's assumed and hinted at in the series that Louise helped George through his early struggles to start his dry-cleaning business. This probably implies that she once was either an employee, manager, or partner.
I grew up on this show. One of the best of all time
Hilarious! This is '77 and George wants to see '78! 😅
No it's crazy that you see in the 70s they was like that too
@joshwells7752 lol this has been going on thru-out human history. It's never been new.

Calling the bank immediately to cancel both checks and telling wifey the truth.
Right
That wouldn't be a good idea. You just want women like that to be gone and never come back.😂

Ya'll forgot to include the moment George says he signed the second check "Pudding". LOL.
😂 Glad to hear that.
When she kissed him he should have told her she was wrong
Exactly but it was like nothing.😢
I thought that was odd for that script as well especially since he went on to say he wasn't interested.🙄

As a married man of 21 years I have avoided many of these situations but still I’m not a saint.
I hope George didn't sign the second check and called to put a "stop payment" on the first one 😂
He did stop payment on the 1st check, but he signed the 2nd check “Puddin’,” she can’t cash that 💩. 🤣😂
You know that episode symbolizes so many aspects of our people and how our women move even today is so amazing
$800 in the 70s was quite a bit of money. It didn't come about easily for regular folks.
Still is !🤣
Minimum wage was $2.35 a new house was $20,000 in parts of Dallas. Could feed a family of five for eight months.
George was funny and real at the same time 😆
