  • Here's a few Electric Piano sounds of my Kawai MP7SE, from a budget stand point I think this is the best price vs performance digital stage piano, my only complaint is the weight.. but this unit stays only in my home studio for midi controller so there's nothing to moan about ;-)

    Thanks for making this video! I’m really really thinking of buying the Kawai MP7SE, but I am also considering the Yamaha CP88

      I have Yamaha CP4 the previous generation of CP88, I think for acoustic piano the Kawai is more of my choice but for EP I prefer CP4, the sounds kind of connected with your touch so you can express more, but there are also various tools in Kawai to edit the EP sounds to your preference 👍 Kawai's EP is good sounding out of the box but feel slightly inferior than Yamaha's

    GREETINGS....... Please, when is an update coming to eradicate the sound cut when a tone is selected. It's called smooth sound transition.

      I'm pretty sure the current sound continues to play when selecting a new sound.

    I think this piano is almost perfect. My only hesitation for buying is that it seems that half of the reviewers report key problems. Any problems with yours?

    • @pmcate2
      @pmcate2 5 років тому

      @@ochisalat From the reviews online it seems to be less so with the MP7. Mine will mostly stay in the home, I only predict bringing it out on a gig once a year. How long have you had yours? And that steel drum patch sounded very realistic!

      @@ochisalat Also, have you played the MP7? Are the counterweights in the MP7se worth the difference in price?

      I had mine for 10 months, no problems so far. Action is not super quiet but it us as quiet/load as any other DP I tried. The fear of mechanical issues is always there due to user reports online. But it's worth mentioning they all seem to fet exceptional service from Kawai. I keep kine under dust cover when not in use and hoover the keybed once every 2-3 months. I also heard they might have improved the keybed soon after the launch of the mp7se one service repr. mentioned as the case for problematic keys dropped to almost non-existent. The biggest issue might be drooping the keyboard box so it is advisable to only purchase locally.

    Hi friend, excellent demo, are you tried the Roland RD-2000 or the new Yamaha P-515?, what key action and sound connection did you prefer between MP7 and those options?... Thanks!...

    • @user-wf9wq9kq6u
      @user-wf9wq9kq6u 5 років тому

      action-wise I prefer the mp7se to the p-515 and rd-2000, especially for the hand to sound connection.

      Hi Luca, i agree with you, are you tried the Classic MP7?, even i prefer this over the RD2000, is a bit lighter than SE but more confortable for faster playing organs and synth sounds..., can you share your impression please?... Thanks!...

      @@ferdearmas8732 I see you still haven't decided on an instrument. You need to ask yourself, what features are most important to you in a digital piano/synth? If you can single those out, it would be easier for others to give you advice as well.

      @@dynoroad Hi friend, thanks for your response, yes, i´m still looking..., key action and finger to sound connection are the most important features for me right now, which keybed did you prefer?... Thanks a lot!...

    • @dynoroad

      @@ferdearmas8732 I have only tried the MP7SE, some Nords with lesser fatar keybeds, and the PHA-50, but none of the newer Yamahas. I prefer the RHIII in the Kawai, with the PHA-50 a close second. Key to sound connection is spectacular on the Kawai imo, especially coupled to the inboard pianos set to "dynamic" voicing. If playing with no sound, I think the PHA-50 has a more natural feel, maybe due to the wood inside? However, the key action on the MP7SE serves a dual purpose, as it somehow also works great for organ, synth and electric pianos while still giving pianists lots of control over expression. It's especially nice when playing softly, that's when you feel the escapement. Do you have the possiblity of trying the RHIII and the PHA-50? Also, how important are inboard sounds to you? And what kind of sounds are most important?
