Everyone always mentions the box flip, but I think a truly underrated moment is when the soft piano music queues after Rodney walks away from the shelf. It’s so cute and inviting!
Your videos are of tremendous help. I brought my copy of Vivid to game night last weekend, saw the rules, and put it right back in the car. Thanks to you, I can get it back out, play around with it, and hopefully teach it to my friends! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for this Rodney! Fabulous video and explanation as always :) Really special day when one of your games is featured on Watch it Played!
We got to play this for the first time today. We both really liked it. Our score ended up being a lot closer than we thought at the beginning. It is especially neat because of the point salad aspect: if you don't get a lot of points through the tiles you are taking, you might still score well on the neurological pathways on your board. I thought at first all the spatial aspects of this game were going to make it nearly impossible for me to grasp, but I caught on pretty quickly. I think the theme is especially fun for a nostalgic date night. There are a lot of different kinds of things going on, which really makes it feel like a brain game for sure! But the gentle theme and the different ways you can score make it much less intimidating to play. Great game. :)
I feel like this game isn't getting enough love in the board gaming world. It's a really neat, thinky game. It has an intriguing mix of puzzles, planning, improvising, and action selection. I hope to see more games like this that explore memories & synapses in this interesting kind of way.
What a fantastically different theme for a game! Any time I see a game on your videos it gives me so much more incentive to buy it because I know can follow along with you to learn it. This may sound weird, but I think of you as a Mr. Rogers for grown ups. You are so kind and clear and I want ro be in your neighborhood! My husband teases me I have a crush on you...it's that Canadian Mr. Rogers charm!!! You bring me back to the happiest memories of my childhood...just like this game!!!
Got myself a Deluxe KS copy on sale in an online boardgameshop a while ago. Watched your tutorial today after reading the rulebook. I get the rules and played the game solo (pretend second player 😊), but I definitely need some more practice before I understand how to score higher 😂 Thanks for your tutorial 🙏 When I buy a game, I always look on YT if you have a tutorial because they are great 👏
I like puzzling tiles placement games. As it was half-priced on a French online store, I took it! thanks for the vid! I subscribed to the channel, as I watch regularly your explanations. They are easy to understand, for foreigners like me. PS : there's a solo variant on BGG.
Not so sure about the theming to me and what these fancy hexes have to do with memories, but this definitely looks like it would be interesting to play (plus shiny things and bright colors! ^_^).
I think this is the first I've noticed that graded spiderman comic on the shelf! Nice to see some other geeky stuff on display! Kallax's are good for more than board game storage! Lol.. Also the game seems crunchier than it appears! Looks like a light weight tile placement game similar to Azul style games, but with lots of different scoring objectives and rules to move tiles around. Interesting. I'll have to try it out someday!
Ha! This one did get recorded before I sent into surgery (I was in the middle of Citadels when all that went down :) - but the next video I release will be post surgery. I'm glad to be back in better health!)
@@WatchItPlayed interesting, those double layered boards look premium, I can’t seem to find and direct comparison of the normal to the deluxe anywhere. I’ll ask on BGG. Thanks anyway 👍
I found telling the difference between blue and purple difficult on the board, BUT if you notice that the symbol of the color is included in the edge clusters. So then you are reassured which color you need to link to it.
Man your videos are aweeeeeesome everytime I start your video I feel delighted ,your smiling expression ,your cheerful voice and your brotherly " hi" everything is just amazing thank you man for making these videos it makes my day go wonderfully well Edit: can you tell me your all time favourite game and a campaign type game for beginners that don't break the bank as in my country import taxes are high and currency is highly depreciated thank you in advance
So glad you've been enjoying the videos Hussain - very kind of you to say :) For your other questions, I can't help much there. I don't think I really have an all time favorite game and I hesitate to give personalized suggestions, because what I like, someone else might not, but all the best in your quest to find that next great game.
@@WatchItPlayed Man sorry for disturbing you again 😅😅 I and my cousin have recently developed a taste of boardgames and I wanna ask would you prefer gloom haven jaw of the lion as a beginner game ( personalized suggestion required😁😁😁)
@@RELAXINGVIBES2493 Ha! Well, you won't get a personalized suggestion form me :) That said, I've only played Jaws of the Lion, so I couldn't recommend one over the other anyway :)

Congratulations Matthew. 😊👍🥰
Always a pleasure to feature one of your titles Matthew. Hope I get to see you this year!

Thanks for sharing your experience with the game Teej!
This one looks right up my alley, with lots of things to think about and move and place on every turn. Thanks for the awesome video!
Hey, glad you enjoyed what you saw!
I'm glad they have the colour blind friendly icons because the purple on the card at 12:05 looks pretty different from the colour on the actual token!

Andrew Bosley's art is STUNNING as always. Looking forward to picking this one up!
Yes, he's a real talent for sure!
This looks wonderful! Has artwork that reminds me of Dixit, and thinky gameplay that reminds me of Calico. Can't wait for this release :)
You know what? That's a pretty damn clever game combo description for this.

Mr. Rogers was one of my favorite shows as a child (and I admire it still as an adult), so this is a very kind comment - thank you :)
@@WatchItPlayed There is a wonderful movie with Tom Hanks that really expresses who he was....you should check it out if you haven't seen it! :)
@@teejleague3838 Oh yes, I've seen it!
notion seconded!!
I'm so glad that you did this walk-through! I just got my Kickstarter copy! Thanks as always!
Hey a great time playing Dwayne!
I just struggled my way through. the rule book only to see you just uploaded this video. Thanks! Will be very helpful :)
I hope you find the video helpful!
Welcome back Rodney! We’ve missed you!
Good to be back!
Tylor is so good at this game, he almost always doubles my score!
Sometimes a game just clicks for a player, doesn't it? I'm usually the one being doubled too.
Me too! I feel I’m just invited to explain a game and for an easy win 😂

This looks great! Very cool art 🖼
Yes, the artist has a really pleasant style.
I've got my KS copy and waiting to get it to the table. I will share this video with my group so they can be ready.
I hope you all have a great time playing!

The Spiderman (first appearance of Punished) was a very kind gift from some wonderful friends. Thanks for checking out the video!
Rodney! I’m glad you waited til you were back to full strength before returning to the dangerous and mysterious art of box flipping.

Is this the normal version or the deluxe Kickstarter version?
As far as I know this is the regular edition.

Yes, they did a nice job with the symbols, to help with any color challenges.
Oh wow, a game about memories. I have an excellent memory!
Oh my god that cover is beautiful
Yeah, the art is pretty great for this one!
This looks great! Thanks for another fantastic video! :)
You bet Ben!
Ok but most importantly... where did you get that shirt?
That's one of my favs too!
Love the components, looks great.

Love the video!

Wow. Can imagine this is a tricky game to plan your scoring. Seems like there are a lot of things to consider!
Rodney, you need a yellow shirt. ;-)
It's true, my yellow Plaid might have been a good fit here :)
“We’ll pretend we have two players”… story of my life
Many of us gamers have had to play that game a few times in our lives, for sure!
Great tutorial as usual! :D
Thank you Yannick :)
This game appeals to me because I have an excellent memory.
*looking at your childhood photo* oh my goodness Luke looks just like you
It'll be interesting to see how his features change as he continues to age :)
Here's your allotment of bacon.
Good, cause I was running out!
Looks like mix of chai and Azul 3
I'm sure you've taught me how to play this game already...?
Nope, this is the first time teaching this game.
@@WatchItPlayed How bizarre! I certainly have a 'vivid' memory of this game - perhaps I've already played it?
