It's very similar to my Eastwood light that also folds the same way...one of the reasons for being able to fold it in a 90° is where the individual lights come in you can actually set it up as a floodlight if you're trying to work on a ball joint, changing brakes, or springs/shocks in a wheel well...very handy... Not only a hood light..I use mine under the dashboard..fold it up and it will light up everything underneath... 7:00.. A 4ah 20V will last up to 8hours..
Yep, it functions a lot like that light. I figured the 4Ah would last 6 hours or so, but we wanted to get a good test under our belts. Thanks for watching as always.
Thanks for this video, just found out that Dewault released this light, Def going to try it out since Im already on the dewault system for at home tools.
Oh the irony of working on my Suburban tonight with an inferior light and shaking out a replacement only to find that you're reviewing the light I want...mounted to a Suburban...
@@Jarco101 it’s mostly preference. I recommend which ever platform you already have a battery for. With that being said what I’ve personally seen the Milwaukee is a little brighter, but it doesn’t fold. I prefer the Milwaukee only because I have a battery for it already and didn’t have to buy a new one. I also personally see Mac, matco, and snap on as over priced but that’s again personal preference. Buy the platform you’ve already invested in, and if you currently haven’t then figure out which platform makes the most sense for you. I like Milwaukee M12 because I can get every automotive tool I need on the m12 platform minus a mid torque/high torque
@@overlordgaming752 thanks a lot I currently own both, dewalt and M12 But because of the folding feature I would like to say dewalt which by the way, is way cheaper than Mac, basically the same,
@@Jarco101 sounds like you have a recipe for success then already, I know a guy who has like 5-6 different brands so 5-6 different chargers. My s/o uses Mikita so I use a mix of Milwaukee and Mikita most of the time. Have a good day
I love these lights but seriously don't think they should retail for anything more than 100 *cough Milwaukee* leds and batteries are literally pennies.
@@garrettgiuffre5653 "literally pennies" ??? Milwaukee's comparable underhood light retails for ~$25 more, is not as bright, and doesn't fold for convenience, storage, or to stand up on the ground like this Dewalt does. Milwaukee doesn't have anything like this for cheaper that's for sure. That said, they are both great lights and can't really go wrong with either one. If you already are invested in one's battery platform then probably best to stick with that.
The small Bluetooth speaker is the same way with the battery’s can do 12v and 20v I haven’t had any problems I’ve had mine for some time. Still working like new.
the Flexvolt battery is 54 (60) volts as well as an 18 (20) volt battery so it will just act as the 20 volt battery as in this clip. short answer is yes.
just what ive been looking for, since milwaukee has it long time but i have 95% dewalt tools what i use around a shop and all over my house etc i just not want to get milwaukee for that one reason i rather have one brand if possible then 10 different ones.
It’s kinda funny how most of the videos I watch about it light, you guys always hang the light on the hood with the battery on the driver side so the buttons are on the back side🤣. Why🤷♂️
It looks just like the CRAFTSMAN V20 LED Work Light, Under Hood, Tool Only (CMCL090B) for $144.99.Do not like that plastic piece could break think they should have gone with the 20 volts only.

Dewalt is killing it recently 👍👍👍
Thanks for this video, just found out that Dewault released this light, Def going to try it out since Im already on the dewault system for at home tools.
That looks the exact same as the craftsman! That’s great! As long as it is the same price. Nice job DeWalt!
Hi Tim, this will be in my garage shortly, very convenient and useful lite, I have dewalt impacts so I got battery’s lol, ty, Bob,
Right on! I guess the pressure is too strong to overcome?! Lol. It's a great light. Thanks, as always.
@@Shoptoolreviews excellent review keep up your excellent quality work
Will the hooks fit around 2x4 ceiling framing for the interior of a house without drywall hung yet?
One of my friends has the Mac version of this and he loves it. I now have one one the way.
Oh the irony of working on my Suburban tonight with an inferior light and shaking out a replacement only to find that you're reviewing the light I want...mounted to a Suburban...
Similar to my Mac tool light. Accepts dewalt batteries and and has the option for motion detection. Comes on when I walk up to it.
O wow I could use that I want it lol great video
Sweet I'll wait for it to come out with a promotion
Milwaukee also has one
@@overlordgaming752 is it better than this one???
At the shop my coworkers have the Mac version and is awesome

mac has had these for a year or two pricey but awesome light macs version has a tiny extra light also attached to it?
Great for Aircraft and Home use.
Dose it run on 60v/20v?
Hi. Waiting when the devalt electric rattle will be available? Or is it already
Exact same as the craftsman light, but with a new feature. I love my craftsman light, it’s GREAT! Got a floor model for $100 instead of $150!

Great review
Sweet piece . Have 12V batteries , so no worries about that . Great idea to be dual Voltage though .
The next manufacture to make an under hood light with Bluetooth speakers built in, is gonna win it all.
That's actually a pretty great idea
Great light! Looks like team red got some competition!
Yes they do. The DeWalt fans are excited. Thanks for watching.

I’m thinking of getting it, but then I realize that my working on cars lately involves taking the hood off lol.
Have the Mac version had it for 5/6 years today just broke :/
If the center detentes ware out, I’ll just add support to the back side and hold it with zip ties.
Does this one have a motion sensor?
No, this light does not have the motion sensor. Thanks for watching.
Will a flex volt battery work with this light?
Yes, the 20V/60V FlexVolt battery will work with this light. It's quite heavy on the light, but it works. Thanks for watching
@@Shoptoolreviews thank you for checking on that for me
The 15Ah flexvolt does not if I'm not mistaken, but the rest will.
My only complaint is a wish is had the power button facing down

Theb 4 port charger has that style of flapper things And never had any issues.
Never tested runtime. If it only lasts a couple of hours it's a hassle.
Why finally? Milwaukee doesn’t make one…
Milwaukee does make an under hood light.
Dear China. All LED lights should have 1 button for on high med low off. Mode for anything else. So tired of the one button
Dude get over it… that is a non problem that you are trying to make into a problem
No. One button for on/off
Any other button for mode

I don't like the battery placement. I think the m12 is set up better
I would rock the light if it came down to about $70.00.
😂🤦🏽♂️
All they need for this light is a ac adapter so your not solely relying on your batteries
The exactly same light has been available from mac for 3 years now
Black and Decker owns both MAC and DeWalt. They just adapted it over.
99$ on Amazon right now
That's not a bad deal.
I must have missed that deal, just paid the $60 for mine a couple days ago.
I really don't like the plastic hinges.
Yeah i reckon those plastic ridges in there would wear out eventually
It's a possibility. Only time will tell for sure. It's a pretty firm fit right now, but I'm sure it will loosen up over age. Thanks for watching.
Gonna have to duct tape the battery on after 10 years 😂
