  • Although people can thrive on a vegan or plant-based diet, it should be noted that it is quite an extreme diet because of how many important food groups it excludes, which leads to a significant risk of nutritional deficiencies.

Nothing wrong with a good quality burger (if you eat meat), just give the bun & fries a miss! I used to eat breakfast every day for 60 years believing it was the most important meal of the day. Also thinking bran flakes were a good healthy choice! Over the last year I’ve stopped eating cereals & cut out most of the rubbish I used to eat - low fat stuff, Flora spread, sunflower oil etc, things we were told were good for us. I try to have at least 14 hours without food & eat in a 8-10 hour window. I’ve lost a stone so no longer overweight. I do eat meat, fish & dairy but now include much more plant diversity for the health of my gut & also some fermented food. The changes have been a lot easier than I expected & I don’t need to obsess about food or calories so it works for me!

If everyone gives up meat cows and sheep will disappear from the countryside. The lack of manure from them will ruin the soil making it unproductive. This cannot be replace by chemical fertiliser which will also destroy the soil bacteria.

👏👏👏👏👏 Lack of animal farming is what has caused desertation around the planet, just what are the people who are looking out for us and this planet playing at... They're definitely members of the World Economic Forum ie every person on this planets enemy unless you're a billionaire of course
Do not be sold anything from them on the news they don't have us peasants best interests at heart just look at the covid vaccine rollout, 130,000 excess deaths since then 👀

I have been on the KETO/ Fasting, Low Carb wagon for 9 years... it certainly helps my autoimmune condition👍. And it is very true, even on a frugal income I can manage to buy organic Local Farm meat and produce by being 'canny' with my purchases. Protein gives far greater satiety and a 3 day Fast makes me feel so much better. 'Vegan' is not for everyone...it may not suit your actual DNA. It did not suit mine.

The only way to get junk food from meat is to add plants.

Not entirely; remember we're at the end of the food chain so if the meat we eat has been factory-fed on high fructose corn syrup, antibiotics and seed oils then effectively that's what WE are eating. Equally when we talk about "plants" its a question of which plants and how they've been grown. The answers aren't that complex but let's avoid over-simplification. Hope that helps! Graham

Cows eat grass (which we can't digest) and turn it into highly nutritious meat.

If they would only understand, VEGANISM is a lifestyle NOT a Diet! Yes, vegans don’t eat meat or any form of animal products, but that’s all it says about diet. So he’s very accurate that a vegan diet may not be healthy. If he would read the research Re a WHOLE FOOD PLANT BASED DIET he would understand that eating NO meat or animal derived products is the healthiest way to eat. Prove me wrong!

I disagree. A vegan wholefood diet is undoubtedly healthier than a vegan fake food (ultra-processed food) diet. I'm sure we're agreed on that. But protein quality isn't the same and nor are vitamin and mineral content. The fact that all vegans have to supplement B12 alone shows its nutrionally incomplete. Now that is a lifestyle choice you are entitled to make many of our clients do. Its simply not Species appropriate diet for humans

@@ProLongevity you are absolutely correct BUT, vegan isn't about a healthy diet(as agreed above it can be or not). It is about not harming animals. I was whole food plant based before I went Vegan, the only thing that changed after I went vegan is that I became aware of more that just what goes into my mouth.
