Jack C Copeland first invented streak retinoscope in 1920. I just want to add few more lines- a semidark room preferably 6 mt or small room of 3 mt can also used for retinoscope with the help of mirror. Working distance lens should always be kept in last compartment of trail frame near to eye .
is there any way to determine what's the main meridians of astigmatism? what if it's not 90 or 180? what would i see if for example it's 45 and 135? and how i have to find it out? tnx
@@OptometryAcademy so from your experience what is better and at the end of the day why do an objective if you rely on the subjective I understand 4 babies and young children you do not have a choice
Bt while doing it's not clear and very visible like shown in video .We sometimes get orange, light green white glow in cataract patient's..So we get confused wether we have to look at central or peripheral glow for neutralization
My professor couldn't teach this better ❤️❤️
shut up dont disrespect ur professor like that

I prefer a Snellen and Test Lenses, when possible.
this is the easy explanation that i ever seen before . very helpfull😍

Very nice ..what about axis is it always at 180 how can we change according pat. Needs ?

Hey do u do optometry
@@richardotieno7455 Yes little bit
Why should we kept 1.50 working distance on the trial frame while we adding lens

Hi can you show the optical cross of this I get confused about that
Uu real made this look so easy I was struggling soo much with this 😢 thkkk uuuu brooo
Thanks sir it is very helpful video .....
Wow thank you so much for this video😍👌

Horizontal to replaced asvertical meridian and vice versa. 180` refers horizontal meridian and is achieved by horizontal streak Am I!?
working distance 66mm= -1.50D please explain .
Than +3.00sph+2.00cyl×180
-1.50 working distan minus to sph power,
so ansur is +1.50 sph +1.00cyl×180
After removing +1.50 DS. The remaining lenses in the trial frame in +3.00/+2.00 x180
Its 66 cm. 100/66=1.50 D. Power=1/focal length
Use atropine cycloplegic to - 1
And homatropin - 0.5
Cyclopentolate - 0.75
Number
V+2.00
H+3.00-1.00(atropine)
Refractive number +2.00D sph
Quite helpful 🙂
thnx for the video.....video on ishahara chart plzz
Thankyou so much ❤️
Video on prism cover test plzzz🙂
Great work
One ques..
Why u skipped 1.75 trial lens to neutralise cylindrical axis.?U have used 1.50 then 2.00.. We can't use or it's an example..
Just an example.😊

What reflex we will get in high myopic condition
Jack copland invented retinoscope on 1920
It was awesome👍👏
Thank you 😊
The music was distracting but nice video overall. Thanks a lot
Nice animation work :)
More helpful video sir
Is this more accurate then a subjective refraction
No, after doing this , we do subjective refraction
@@OptometryAcademy so from your experience what is better and at the end of the day why do an objective if you rely on the subjective I understand 4 babies and young children you do not have a choice
sir,the retinoscope'light is in the vertical, why it's saying it moved in horizontal meridian ?
When light is vertically placed, at that time we are actually doing retinoscopy for horizontal meridian.😊
@@OptometryAcademy but sir, if the light is placed horizontal meridian means we have to move the reflex in vertical meridian right?
Yes 👍
Sir Can u plz neutralize with minus lens bcz understanding some more???
Hello sir if both meridian has same power but signs are different then how to do? E.g. +1.50*160 in one meridian and -1.50*70 to another meridian.
You can see my video "cross retinoscopy" for this question.
Thank you
@@OptometryAcademy ok sir
☺️
Helpful👍🏻
Sir working distance minus karene ka tha na
New pricsription +1.50+2.00*180 hoga
Best video thanks sir please streak retinoscopy pr banao
Thank you
why we should remove +1.50 from trial frame ?
+1.50 D is our working distance lens. It should be removed after retinoscopy

What if the cyl was not there at 180° how then can Know the axis?
What sort of reflex can be seen if patient is with oblige n bioblique Astigmatism?

Sir oblique axis me bh yhi Same process rhegi kya
Yes😊
@@OptometryAcademy sir axis kese confirm hogi 35 hai ya 130
Jaise ham 90 aur 180 ke liye karte hai. Thoda practice karoge to aapko oblique axis nikalna aaram se aa jayega.
