Brilliant! Twenty-eight years ago in a fit of generosity, I bought my wife a Yamaha Clavinova PF P100. About eighteen months ago the F# key stopped working. Tonight we were deciding where to buy a new keyboard from when my wife discovered your channel, with some skepticism I tried your advice and it worked, I gave it a good bearing and it's perfect! Nobody is more amazed than me! Thanks so much, you saved me thousands of pounds!
My Yamaha keyboard had the exact same four keys quit working a few months ago. I was lamenting having to buy a new keyboard when I had only had this one a few years, but I did what you suggested and they’re back! Thank you so much for this!
I cannot believe that actually worked. I've opened my keyboard and completely cleaned it multiple times and it never worked. All my E keys have been dead for at least 5 years. This fixed it in 30 seconds. I liked and subscribed for the first time on a video.
No lie about two seconds ago I was freaking out that some of my keys had just stopped registering on my Yamaha dgx-230 keyboard screen when I press them and no sound was coming out. I did exactly what he said, just tap the keyboard with some medium force around the whole thing with your hand and it worked wow. Saved me so much stress. I did also find out though during my research that the inside of the keyboard piano gets super dusty and you can unscrew it and vacuum it out but I know some people are kinda scared about it like me but I’d rather not have my keyboard be unplayable either so we gotta do what we gotta do to take care of our instruments. There are videos showing how to do it if this video doesn’t fix your particular problem. You just need a screwdriver/vacuum. Good luck everyone on figuring out your instruments’ issues. I know this can be tough to deal with and find answers to without going to a repair shop. Also thank you to the video’s creator for making this because at first I thought he was trying to be funny but it actually does work. I’m thinking that the logic is probably that some dust or debris might be in the way of the electronics pieces and this is a way to loosen it and get it out of the way without opening the piano
You are my friend are a lifesaver - my keyboard has been playing up for ages! Always different keys not working, and I followed this today with a smile, and after 2 attempts, it worked! You are a magic man - thank you! xx
I’ve had an Alessi recital grand for 2 years and after about 6 months every note in one of the octaves went dead. I was looking at repair places and I watched this video and it actually worked. Thank you for actually making real tutorials and not just some fake info that doesn’t work
Thank you so much. My son and I thought it was just clickbait, but it actually works. We were in awe when we saw that the keys actually worked. Thank you
I've fixed things for people for a long time, my own things are a different story. I'll let stuff sit for years if I can work around an issue, which I've had a single dead key that's shaped my music writing for the the past year at least. I finally decided to fix it and look up a few quick fixes before opening it up and checking out the circuits. I'm so glad that I did, bc I wouldn't have thought a simple pat on the edge would be enough to knock whatever was blocking the connection loose, but it was. What a time saver! Thanks for the tip.
WTF? This literally just worked for me. Are you kidding me right now? All of my E and B flat keys were not working. Turned the PSR E-303 on both sides and hit it just like you did...turned it back on...and all 61 keys work. I'm stunned, lol. I was just reading up on the internal schematics of the circuity to try to figure out which resistor or cable ribbon I was gonna have to replace but now I don't have to deal with all that thanks to "this one weird trick" lmfao. Thank you SO much! You've made my daughter super happy!
Thank you so much, it really worked just doing exactly what you did. You made my day. I was so sad thinking that I have to buy a new one. You save me money. You are fantastic.
TO MY AMAZEMENT IT WORKED!!! At first I thought this was a joke or "spoof" video but I figured "What the heck. Let me try it." I was shocked. It actually WORKED! Thank you so much!
Hi. Omg the light shaking and tapping trick really works. I'm a 47yr old mom and in 2min became my 15yr old son's hero. Almost opened up the keyboard unnecessarily. Tnx 4 turning me into a hero. Thea
I just want to express my gratitude. I had some keys that were not working. I gave my keyboard a couple of encouraging taps. And there they were. As good as before.
GOD BLESS YOU SIR. Had a dead key literally 1 week out of the warranty. Every other UA-cam video about an "easy" fix for a Yamaha dead key involved 4 hours of removing 56 screws and performing surgery on circuit boards. And then you come on and say "just hit it!" and it completely worked.
It worked!!! Thank you so much!!! I was super scared because I don't have money to take it to repair right now and I did it in like 30 seconds by my self!! You're an amazing human being ❤❤
U are a key board genius, my five keys just stop working I was stressing over it already I just tried what u said and its working u just save me a few bucks. Thankx u
I can't believe this worked! I have an old Yamaha PSR-273 that I use for MIDI input next to one of my music workstations and a few days ago all the G/F# keys stopped working in all octaves except the top octave. I assumed it was something electronic from a lightning storm that day. I was skeptical this would help in my case, but on a whim I decided to give it a go, put it on its side, and slapped all the keys like you did. I actually saw some fine dust/particles coming out. I put it back on the stand and voila! Everything worked first try. Thanks so much for spreading this information.
🧙🏻♂🪄Today, the exact same keys on my 11-year-old daughter's Yamaha P35B stopped working: C# and G in the two upper octaves. I found your video and decided to try it. I took a tambourine (I have a small one, but made of real leather and stylized to look like real Siberian shaman tambourines) and called my daughter. I put the piano on its end. And I knocked on it (like in your video) and then on the tambourine. The more I knocked, the more my daughter's eyes widened. After a minute, I finished, returned the piano to its normal position and turned it on. I played a chromatic scale across the entire keyboard and voilà: everything works. Words cannot express my daughter's surprise. "Daddy, you're a SHAMAN!" was all she could say and laughed for a few more minutes. Thank you brother! You made my day (and my daughter's piano, too).🧙🏻♂
This worked for me as well. I was having the exact same problem where four keys went dead in the same configuration. I thought I was going to have to open the thing up and this saves me so much trouble!
Thanks so much. This trick really works. Mine Yamaha keyboard is 20 years old. Some of keys just stopped to work. I didn't want to throw it. As many memories were with it. I was looking the options how to fix those three keys. I found your video and thought there is no harm trying this trick. I am amazed it's start working. I am very happy to see it. Thanks once again.
Lucky I found this video! All of my Yamaha C#s and Gs stopped working as well. I almost ended up breaking out the screw drivers and going down the rabbit hole following the advise of other videos, but I tapped on it some and now it's fine. Must have just been dust. Thanks!
My God...that really works! Thank you sooo much my dear Friend! May i call you so? In the beginning of this year a friend gave me a present, a legendary Yamaha PSR 8000. Old but Gold. Many famous Musicians played it, still are playing. I was sooo happy about this instrument and about its fantastic sounds. Some months ago, i wanted to play again, but nearly no sound came out of the speakers or Headphone, nothing. I was sooo sad. Some days ago, i decided to look here on UA-cam, if someone perhaps has a good advice...and so i found your video...made it exactly like you showed...and oh Wonder! Again everything works perfect again! Thank you sooo sooo much! I wish you a good & happy life, dear friend! Jochen from Germany
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! My middle C wasn't registering at all except for a faint quiet note, I did what you did in the video and it fixed it right away!!! So much time and money saved! 🥰😁😁
Thank you for the tips, it worked for my Yamaha YPG 235, the church has one and it does the same thing, I'm gonna do theirs the same way I did mines and hope it works, thanks again, you have a safe blessed week.
I almost thought of taking my Yamaha electronic keyboard for service until i saw this video. About 5 keys were dead. Replicated what was done in this video & VOILA, the keys came alive😮😮😮. This video deserves more likes than it has....
Thank you so much. I used to do this with most of the electronic gadgets but since keyboard is sensitive I never thought of doing it BUT DUDE IT WORKED. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤❤❤
I had exactly the same problem with the very same 4 keys (2 c sharps and 2 G keys on the high end). your trick works !! amazing. saved me allot of trouble (and money). Thanks allot for your tip
I am SO grateful- I read the comments before watching this video!!! If you are a skeptic??? Do yourself a favor- try this before ANYTHING else! ! I cover my keyboard,! I protect my keyboard!! I could not imagine that this “down and dirty trick absolutely SOLVED MY PROBLEM- I am forever GRATEFUL!!!
Thank you so very, very much!!! The exact same keys didn't work on my piano! I did as you showed in the video and the keys worked again! I wish you good luck!
Unblievable!! It does work!!!!! I have try to open the piano and fix it, but it was too difficult. But it was fixed after I flapping it, it is so amazing!!!!!!
This is crazy. My Yamaha psr e463 had a C which was silent, opened it, wipes it clean, but still dint work. After seeing this video, I closed it n gave it a few slaps, now it works. Thanks a bunch
Thanks a lot man I’ve tried on my Roland EX20 Arranger keyboard and literally worked for me I don’t know how to thanks you, literally man you saved my money you save my time you are my life saver man I don’t know how to thank you but once again thanks a lot
If one or several keys suddenly stops working for no reason the fix is at 03:23 : put the keyboard vertical and gently tap all around the body of the keybourd like you wanna remove some dust! ITWorks!! Thanks.
Thanks so much. I had some real anxiety over having to get a key repaired for possibly more than I paid for the keyboard. This fixed it. For me it helped after tipping the keyboard first on one end and then the other.
I wish I had more thumbs than two; to put up for you! It was insanely effective! Eight keys of my Roland EX-30 have instantly come out of coma just now! Can't thank you enough!
I had the same problem with a Yamaha P-115. After tearing it down and cleaning the contacts with contact cleaner, I reassembled it only to find out different keys were not working. The keys that were not working started working, but four others stopped working - and they were the same keys this gentleman had problems with - two upper C#'s and two upper G's. I bumped it gently all over then turned it on its side and bumped it on a stool (not too hard), and that fixed it! I'm flabbergasted, but thankful!
Thank you! This worked in my Yamaha DGX230. The same key wasn't working all the way across the keyboard and I thought I was going to have to replace the entire keyboard, but this trick worked!
One of are keys on are Yamaha keyboard didn’t work the one key that didn’t work for us was the F key but what you showed I did it and now the F key works thank you very much
YES THIS ACTUALLY WORKED LIKE WHAT OMG. I was in the middle of practicing and then one of my E keys stopped working. This was so helpful thank you so much
It worked! I was so stressed discovering that 4 keys stopped working. Just a week before a performance. I did the trick - to be honest, with some disbelief - but i did the job! You made my day! Thanks so much! In my case it was the D and Ab in the 2 lower octaves. Of course subbed and liked.
I was extremely skeptical but it worked, who knew the old faithful “give it a good beating” method would work😂 thank you so much, didnt want to get a new one as this is the last thing my uncle gave me before he passed so I really appreciate you
I told my boyfriend to stop dumping his shoes and bags and other heavy objects directly on my piano keyboard that I scrimped and saved to buy. He hasn’t even apologised.
@@martinmty07That is true. If he doesn’t have respect for beautiful instruments and his partner then I don’t know what his issue is. However, I don’t think dumping him right away would be necessary. Maybe he just has to realize his actions and take note on that, while also apologizing. When he still doesn’t mind his mistakes with time then he has to be too immature for this woman. People deserve to be treated appreciated and acknowledged regardless. Well said👍
I sware, dump him, but his shoes first.. I mean, what kind of behaviour is that , like the fuck However be the case, you do you, c not my relationship Have a good day miss
My husband does this too, except he never puts things directly on the keys. I put light stuff on it too sometimes because we live in a small trailer and have very little space but I have had to tell my husband so many times to stop placing heavy sh*t on it ingeneral.
Maaaaan God bless you. I really cannot thank you enough, thank God I stumbled on this video. I borrowed a yamaha psr e363 from a neighbor, all of a sudden, all the E keys stopped working but after seeing this video, I tried it with a big doubt but fortunately it worked men, I wish I can like the this vid more than once. Thank once again.
Thank you so much for this video!! My E flat and A keys stopped working, and after doing what you said, my keys are working again!! 🙌🏾 I thought I was going to have to get a new keyboard. I’m so thankful for your video!
I was originally following another tutorial that said to take the piano apart. So I took off the back cover with a million screws and got lost. Found this video afterward and I’ll admit I wasn’t even going to try this. It seemed ridiculous. Let’s just say I ended up being mad at myself for not finding this video first. Instead, I spent an hour doing and undoing all these screws when I could’ve just banged it into working again in the first place!! Thank you so much for this surprisingly helpful video.
Maaaaaan, this is serious life hack. Neverminded, I tried a the last resource for saving my p115, and ta dah. Like a magic trick, it fixed my problem. Thank you very much man
You have got to be kidding me, it worked!🙌 Thanks man I was honestly laughing when I watched the video and thought all these comments were fake😂. Just saved me a couple hundred, liked and subbed, thanks again, be well.

Tried this on my Yamaha MOXF8, and it works. Time and money saver - thanks brother!

No seu caso deu certo aí ? O meu o problema foram exatamente nas mesmas teclas

My husband does this too, except he never puts things directly on the keys. I put light stuff on it too sometimes because we live in a small trailer and have very little space but I have had to tell my husband so many times to stop placing heavy sh*t on it ingeneral.
Are you guys still together 😂😂
Thank you very much. This fixed my problem! Literally the exact same keys started after I was dusting and now it's working again. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
My daughters keyboard stopped playing the G chords. I did exactly what you did and just like that they work. THANK YOU!

I have a KORG keyboard.. C E and G# stopped working… I ran into this video and tried it and they are now working. Thanks much !
