Thanks for your guidance and ideas! I followed your footsteps 😊 and had to do the exact same thing. My Yamaha DGX-500 is at least 20 years old. I remember ordering it from Japan and being on a waiting list before it’s official release to the US. After many years of accumulating dust and after some time in my basement, some keys were no longer producing sound. I dismantled everything, washed the sensor pads and the key notes. With dishwasher soap and water, I used a small toothbrush to reach the creases. I also vacuumed the inside. It took me 3 days to complete .🙃 Now it works like new and looks like it just came out of the box. My children are learning the piano on it.
Also a general point: don't keep your keyboard where it can be exposed to damp. The middle C key on my Yamaha DGX650 wouldn't sound all the time. I moved the keyboard from a damp bedroom to a dry and warm room. The key was working after 2 weeks.
I have a DGX 660 and the C above middle C is not sounding sometimes. I can see that the rubber under the key is torn. If I open the keyboard can I take one of the rubber pieces off the very highest notes that I never use and use that as a replacement for my broken piece?
Yes. Normal problem is dirty keybed board or broken ruber contact... Thats why a simple open and cleaning will do... If broken rubber. We can buy at the service center
My Roland FP8 left speaker not working and the keyboard has a crackling sound, untouched, when turned on. I do hear the crackling from the left and right speaker though. Any thoughts? Thanks. (All other functions normal.)
My Yamaha p373.was left outside. The middle C was not workig so I put it in a dry warm room for few days. Didnt play it. Then after a few days I plaued it and it worked! Then yesterday it stopped working again😢😢😢 Any thoughts?
Hello, Mark! Thanks for the video! I have Yamaha dox 660 and some of my keys produce kinda rubbing sound, there seems for be friction against something, but I can't see anything just by looking at the key. Should I open it? Is there a way to solve it? Thanks!
Damnn, I never really open up a piano / keyboard before. So I am learning quite some stuff here too. Thanks, Mark! Loving your jazzy playing too, ahahaha.
Hi, would you happen to know why my dgx 660 is muffled i took it to get fixed it helped a little for like a week but the muffled sound is fully back. This is ruining my piano playing. I only had it for two years I bought it new off of amazon. I always felt it was refurbished anyway. Any tips would be great.
Peace be upon you, sir. I am a technician from the country of Morocco. I have an audio mixer in a Yamaha or700. The sound does not appear at all and the audio circuit is fine.
Yes my one handed piano man... It really helps specialy if your a DIY guy .. Its not that difficult you just need a basic skills to open then abit cleaning and checking wires and conection. 80% of keyboard problem is on the contact ruber dirty or broken.. 15%i is the broken power supply plug... 5% is board computer... If your mainboard computer is the problem normaly the cause is water damage or some ants and spider is inside... Or you use a different power supply....
Check the Power adaptor if its not working properly... Or you can check also the plug inside where you put plug the adapter maybe its loose....somtimes the power supply is the problem... If the adapter is not compatible try to use another adapter with Morethan 1Amp power supply....

How do I repair , if it does not display?
Try to reconect the wires. Or go to the nearest electrical technician thay can fix lcd on gadgets . Thats a basic job
I have only one D key that only sounds weak and only if you hit the key hard.
clean the rubber contact.. if it doesnt solve the problem buy a new contact ruber or move it on another octave
Do you have to open it to clean the rubber.contact?
I have one but isa not working
