Welcome back to another episode where man and machine attempt to do battle with Haulover Inlet!
This episode we are back home at Haulover Inlet. Who will take the win this week between Haulover Inlet and the Boats?

The last boat was a win. Yeah, he let himself get a little sideways waffled at the entrance, but I think he was just looking for a good entry point and lost a little momentum. He recovered well and it was very smooth motoring after that.

Initially, I wanted to hand the W to Haulover. However the cap got her under control and didn't take any water over the bow, so I am gonna hand the boats the W this week.

I give the Boston Boatworks the win. Cap walked his tightrope effectively, and maybe his aim was to ease his way in, which he did.

A solid boat win. Smooth, no bow stuffing, no knee jerk reactions, did exactly what they needed to to get that boat through.
Going with boats. Captain picked his route and waited for the wave. Once he caught it, he roads it in nicely. Never bounces the hull. No spray. Good ride

The Axopar was a little rough, but those bows are made to punch through waves like that that as well. Just make sure you're inside 😂
He didn't slam the boat, and he never got it wet on the inside. He tamed Haulover. Win for the boat.
Last Capt? I give him a thumbs up... brought his boat through with minimal stress. Looks like he wanted to go easy and he accomplished that.
Not so big on the design myself... prefer a craft where you're more open to the weather.

Oh man, that last one was wave reading mastery. He wasn’t being manhandled, he was riding the whole thing out pretty damm smooth. Right on the edge of disaster, but perfectly calm and in control.
The last round should go to the driver. He was slow at first looking for a wave to ride, so when a big wave starts coming up on him, he accelerates and rides it like a pro. He probably didnt want to start slow, just looking for a better opportunity in the waves. Sweet video i just found this channel yesterday.
I think this episode goes to the boats, the last guy started off rough by getting sideways but he pulled it together and gently took the win for the boats.

It’s a good idea but I think too many captains play too much to the cameras instead of paying attention to the conditions. And adding a live commentary would make them play to them even more. Their eyes and ears would be focused on the wrong thing.

We live in SC. traveled to Sunny Isles last week for vacation. 1st place I wanted to go was to haul over.
Went on a boat to sandbar on Friday. CRAZY!! Thanks for videos.
I felt like the Axopar cut back before it got stuffed. I think its more river or lake boat. I really like them, anyhow. Intercostal works to.

I was going to give the last win to Haulover because the cap was just going to slow and not using the boats potential. However, he did bring it in smooth with no waves crashing over the bow. Good thing, too! His front windshields were open! I love this channel and the others. Miami Boat Ramps - The Greatest Show on Earth!
The winner? BOAT. It never got roughed up by Haulover in the last round. Good Job.
By the grace of Haulover that boat survived. Also that Midnight Express was beautiful. Lastly,I really enjoy the details at the bottom that describe the vessel, engines, etc. Im not a boat enthusiast per se, but lately these videos are all I want to see at the end of the day.
Last one is a definite win. The captain seemed to know what he was doing and was waiting patiently to ride out the wave until the opportunity to go presented itself.
Boston Boatworks: a real boat (not a transformer, not a boy toy, not look at my money) driven by someone with water sense. Smooth, competent and I would guess, “a good man in a storm”.

Hey man I’ve loved your videos since the day you started them and will keep watching them for sure. But I think one thing that you should explain to a lot of people at home that probably don’t understand what tide change is. Because it could be a beautiful day at Hall over but because of the tide change it can get nasty. I live in Vancouver BC where we go from slack tide to high tide and in that 4 to 6 hour period When the tide is changing things get wild. Hope that makes sense. Because we don’t quite have a haul over here that is that narrow but when water is gushing out and gushing back in it makes those tighter Narrows very turbulent for the boats which is why you see good and bad days and all over. But again thanks for the videos bro you’re on top of it love it.

I am glad you asked on the last one. It looked like it could go wrong, but went good. And, consider that... his passengers had no bit hits, no getting tossed around. Sure, the bow was close to going under... but it didn't, and his passengers were big winners (assuming there were several). Win for the boat.

Last boat was trying to surf his way in and he did. Experienced captain. Had all the windows shut and everyone inside. Win for the boats.
Windows shut? Not that I could see. Bow down he was going to get wet but lucked in this time.

I love the Midnight express.
I was on a 60ft. 2200hp boat that broached coming into a harbour on a rough day. After the skipper had regained control we went past the sign saying "5 knot speed limit" doing 25 knots! It was not my skipper's finest day :)
haulover nearly got it for me but then the boats came back for a win.

The life jacket is an automatic win for me.
It feels like this channel is a missed opportunity for Midnight Express, Sea Vee, or Freeman. Those boats ALWAYS look great on here.
Boston Boatworks for the win. That was perfect, he just literally surfed it like foot boarding. BB just stayed between the waves and spend up a little bit, and back off a little bit as needed, it was perfect.

I vote for the Key West. Definitely knew what he was doing and the kid in back had on a life preserver.
The Boston has an experienced captain. Watch any fishing boat returning to a tough harbor. They all do the same fully laden and in the trough expertly.

Cap did a nice job navigating the inlet. Haulover may have pushed the boat a little but cap had it under control the entire time. That’s a win for the boats.
Last boat - dry, slow but a bit of side rock, did a solid job of riding back end of swells without getting slapped on the back by them.

Give it to the boats. Last boat was a bit iffy at first as Skipper sussed out the conditions, but quickly figured it out and boat glided in without pounding, equipment or hull abuse that comes with hitting the waves too hard.
I'd love to see footage of one of those early, big Chris-Craft Commanders heading out. Like a 38 or 42 or even a 47. Twin big-blocks, straight-shaft drive and pretty big wheels in a pretty heavy medium-vee hull.
The Axopar is designed to stuff the bow, much like an FPB. In most situations that improves passenger comfort.
I’d give the last boat a win. He got a bit pushed around but stayed dry and making headway looking almost majestic at the end. Lovely looking boat
