The rebirth comics are killing it, honestly my favourite stories are coming from rebirth especially the superman stories, they're just so amazing
like any man, in any universe is gonna tell a woman "hey... you look a LOT older than the last time I saw you." lol

I love this, especially the artwork and all the new character designs.
Rebirth has been so conflictin. I've been a Marvel fan my whole life and now Rebirth has pretty much been the only thing I've been reading.
I really love Lana Langs design as Superwoman. You were right about the artwork in this one, Rob.

The design looks like '95 Supes when he got a new suit and electricity.
I like the fact Lana's suit resembles Superman Red from back in the 90s.

I think that "Pre-Flashpoint" and "Post-Flashpoint" sound better since "New 52" isn't even a term in-universe.
Dan Jurgens has always been a great storyteller....But maturity and practice has made him a master in the field. It's so awesome to see DC actually doing something new....Taking their time....And trying to please their fans, old and new, in the best way possible. Much love and peace to DC!
This reminded me of that one Rick and Morty episode where they slipped themselves in to place on a different universe where that universe's Rick and Morty died of a freak explosion. And as soon as they buried their dead counter part's bodies, they just lived on that universe's earth like nothing had happened.

Superman stories now are officially amazing!!! Been reading since New 52 but gathered many volumes of stuff before Flashpoint and was excited to see the OG Superman back in comics once again
superman is kind of great in rebirth.....he is catching up to batman as far as having depth in the story

I was indifferent to superman in most comics, until the DC rebirth. Now the superman action comics are one of my favorite.

Rebirth in general is just really good, sure every book isn't pure gold, but its rare to see either of the big two publishers have this many quality titles all at the same time.
Now if only they could do a little more with Redhood.
Jamie Phillips Lobdell is actually doing better than he has in years on the Red Hood rebirth series.
That isn't saying a lot, he is the same author that made Outlaws awesome... then made all the characters drug addicts.

That's a terrible reason to kill off Nu52 Lois, and doesn't get DC off the hook for all the false advertising with Superwoman Lois everywhere. Hell I was getting amped for the duo when I was reading through the comic; Superwoman and Electric Superwoman combo? Hell yea!
... And then Lois died in book one.
But I think the real reason they killed her off was to make space for Pre52 Lois, much like they did with Nu52 Superman.
Also, kinda getting tired of Lex Luthor getting shitted on everywhere. It's like the DC universe is conspiring to turn him back into the fullblown Pre52 asshole.
if you are looking up superman on google or yahoo. the first one to pop up is all ways pre52 Superman. as for lex is most likely not going to be ass hole for now. and you have been reading superwoman, so you know lex's sister is now evil and calling her self ultra woman.
Robomerc I think you misread something; I wasn't talking about Superman, but the Lois Lane Superwoman advertisements.
And yea I know about Ultra woman, but I'm saying that Lex has been looking like a chump at every turn since trying to don the Superman moniker, even in the issue you mentioned about the Ultrawoman. With his sister doing what she did, it might make for a catalyst to make him go over the edge and act more Pre52ish.
I mean, I ultimately know that Lex will eventually fall back into that spot, but I'm hoping we'll get to explore this concept of Lex trying to be a 'Superman' more before that happens.
+Robomerc I think what he's saying is they're using Rebirth as a way to undo any changes to the status quo they made since new52, so once this is over we go back to the same universe we've had for decades. Yeah, if you google lex you get the evil version. Do i want to see another 70 odd years of stories of him trying to kill superman and failing? no. it's boring, i've seen it all before. Do i want to see stories about lex trying to be a hero, and the conflicting motivations and morals about it? Hell yeah, that's new and interesting. Is he doing it to prove he's a better hero than the superman he hated, and trying to outshine him even after his death? Is he doing it because superman's death actually had an effect on his ego, made him question what he has done? Is it all an elaborate plot that he intends to use to his advantage, but maybe finds he enjoys being the hero rather than the villain?
all that vs "I hate superman because: xenophobia/feels intimidated/ want to take over the world".
And all that can apply to basically everything they're reverting back from new 52. I'd have loved to see two superwoman doing their own thing, teaming up, crossing swords, all that. same with Nu52 supes and per-Nu52 supes. Think about the effects of having another superman, who also has a happy family and homelife, and is generally more powerful and experienced than you just show up and try to tell you how to do the job you've been doing for a decade would have on nu52 supes? Would have been fun to explore, but we can't.
I mean, the best thing to come out of rebirth apart from wally west is superboy. But, do you really expect him to stay? He definitely won't. Unlike, say damien wayne who came about in batman's own story for batman's own character development, Superboy was brought about for the Rebirth event, which is looking more and more like a build up to another crisis event. (Like Countdown for Final Crisis). He'll be taken out with the reboot because when you google lex luthor he's evil, when you google lois lane she doesn't have powers, and when you google superman he doesn't have a son.
what i find weird is that he wanted his sister who looked up to him as a hero. which is what pushed him to be a hero.
but now his sister is acting like her brother before forever evil, becoming a villain and calling her self ultra woman.
Robomerc Well, she's part of a "bad guy" family, so she has to be a "bad guy" because the comics of old only had good guys and bad guys, with no complicated or morally grey characters :/
superman rebirth and action comics rebirth are brilliant and I'm glad that i decided to get a subscription for the trades

Yes, I do agree these stories are a rather nice read and a return to a Superman I like with some nice touches or twists like his son. Just wonderful.

I'm not a big DC guy, and I especially am not a big fan of Superman, but I must say this story looks pretty damn good. I've always heard how shitty Superman stories are because there's nothing new that anyone can do with him, but stories like this just go to show that all you need is a good, experienced writer; that'll make all the difference in the world... ~_~
Anyone who says there is nothing new in Superman's stories, doesn't even read them. Don't listen to the haters, read his stories and then give your opinion.

This story in my opinion is really awesome because it gives us pre 52 lois lane trying to figure out where new 52 lois is which is awesome and badass in my opinion

Hey Rob, been watching awhile. Gotta say this video thus far has been my favorite out of all of your videos, though Thor's Shopping Day was classic. This one demonstrates, to me anyway, that you are pouring tons(tonnes) of passion as well as effort into your videos. Do not get me wrong, other videos did as well but this one hammered it home. Thank you for the video, and keep on keeping on.

I have watched quite a lot of these videos and love them. I'm a person who had read lies of manga, but not many comics. I just like the shows and movies. as a kid I liked comics, but the videos are awesome and I'm glad to have so many to watch

I wonder how everyone's gonna react when they find out Lois is living on a farm with a Clark Kent doppelganger & a kid that looks like her. I do find this reverse where Lois is the one with the secret identity to be interesting, but it'll be much harder than what Clark does, especially without super powers.
I've never been a comics fan although I read some Manga ( although in 39) but you realy make good point in these videos and wants me to see more. also I love your enthusiasm. you bring characters to life. keep up the good work . bye

This is my favorite portrayal of Superman. I personally enjoy imagining Henry Cavil's portrayal of the character (only in Man of Steel) as the very very early, still-learning precursor to this veteran version of him.

Lois Lane Superwoman is the best design for a female character I've seen in forever. Loved the face, black hair and costume. It's a shame she didn't stick around. Reminded me of the Bombshell's series designs.

I think that the New 52 was a universe unto itself that Dr. Manhattan (or Dr. Manhattan empowered baddie) was trying to shape to his own ends. Maybe he has a misguided savior complex or true malevolent intentions. But I think the merger of Sups and 52 Sups history was the universe finding a form of homeostasis after the rescue of Jon counteracted part of Dr. Manhattan's machinations. I believe it's another example of hypertime, like Flashpoint, but instead of Flash being responsible, it's Dr. Manhattan. 52 Sups and Lois helped Jon save Sups and Lois, you wouldn't have had separate souls if 52 was an illusion that got broken. We'll see Dr. Manhattan's hand unfold once Sups starts putting the pieces together and more hero's start merging with their pre-52 counterparts. And I predict a future distinction and separation of the 52 and pre-52 mythos. 😁

I've read Jurgens work since the 90's and he's been consistently good with his writing. if there were dips in that I looked at the other writers he shared Superman with that would drop the ball on their portion of the story they were telling -OR- Idiot Editorial Mandates as to why things ended p not so good.
I'm glad Jurgens is still connected to Superman. Especially this Post-Crisis/Pre-New52 version since he had a huge hand in developing him. He knows who he and his supporting characters are. Tomasi and co. is also hitting out of the park.
