You have a wonderful video! You are right about the wall space I also make use of every space. May husband said I play house all the time! Thanks again I enjoy every minute. Terri
The light above your beautiful picture.. ingenious!!! I loved that! You've inspired me to try and make one. Love your sense of humor. Your videos are so relaxing. Thank you!
You are such a joy to listen to, you make me laugh every time. I love all your ideas, you are so creative! I am also a maximalist & there’s always room for more. It sounds like our daughters are alike also, even though mine is now coming over to the dark side with me! 😂 I absolutely loved the green swag that you turned into a masterpiece. I now need to find a little cart so I can line it so my husband can question one more project. I had to laugh again at the pinecone comment because my husband likes to kick them into the woods but will gather some for me when requested for decor! I can’t get over the round paintbrush, it was genius. I could go on & on…. Wish I had a basement! Thanks for sharing your joy & blessings!
Oh, so maybe my smarty pants daughter may convert one day too!! 😄 We must hold the line for all maximalists and not succumb to pressure to change our style 💃
I love your light concept!!!! You always figure out how to do it with what you have and that is what I love about you! You have made me realize how wealthy I really am......cause I have soooooo much "stuff" and that stuff can be anything.....imagination is the limit.......how fun!
I use what I have... necessity is the mother of invention, and desire for things I'd like to have is the spark for my creativity! It has served me well my whole life while I've been "Raising Cain" 💕 😌

You are SO creative! A lamp from fairy lights, card board and lids….wow! The like to cover my walls in beautiful things as well and have a very difficult time walking away from vintage art. Blessings to you dear friend 🙏🏻
Piper, I hang lots of my framed art on my stairwell walls that lead to my walkout basement (2 bedrooms, a large den and kitchenette are down there.) I use it as a place to hold favorites that I switch out often in my living room, foyer, dining room, hall, etc. Switching art with the seasons or my whims is very enjoyable! 😃

😄 Yes!! My momma used to buy Tide powder laundry detergent in a big rectangular box. It was the perfect size for a Barbie bed 🛌 and Barbie furniture was about 1% of the stuff I created 😆 🤣 😂

Clever, clever girl! Loved your comment about making things fit into your world. So when my daughter asks what I've been up to I can now say I've been making things fit into my world. 😊
in the white bowels......break up dries flower parts....like lavender buds.....etc......will bring some color, and look natural and go well with the wooden spoons!
Such great thrift flips! I loved them all! You always give us great inspiration. I did, in fact, make the ring holder like I mentioned in a previous comment and my mom loved it! I couldn't find a frame that I loved so I just used a vintage wooden box and it turned out just fine. Using a suitcase to hold the books is a super cute idea! We used an antique trunk to hold our girls large legos when they were wee....and now that I think about it, I think they are still in there We'll be keeping them for our future grandbabies.
I'm so glad your mom loved it!! I need to make a bigger one now 💍 I have an old tool chest that is full of toys. It went to the shed during our gigantic house rotation of rooms, and Margaret Anne remembered it, and asked me this week where it was! Time to bring it back in after its hiatus 😊

My goodness !!! How I love your flips, my daughter and I were thrift shopping a couple of months ago and we were at the Habitat for Humanity, she found the same identical picture that u have, she loves it and took it to her camp.. she paid 45.00 for hers.. u got a real deal girl… also I have the same cart u do and I am going to try my hand at your cover, mine came with a piece of plexiglass in the bottom. I think that that is adorable.. I use mine when a friend and I go to yard sales that r several blocks long.. thx again for sharing ♥️🌹
The same picture, no way! 😲 but mine was nearly giveaway, and it makes me appreciate mine even more! I thought the cart would be perfect for a flea market, next time I get to go to one! Mine folds flat; I bet yours does too. I should cut a stiff cardboard or thin something for the bottom of mine. I already considered doing that. Let me know how your liner turns out!
Marla, watching your video this evening, I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite thing you did. From the simple hat rack to the imitation antique broom and paint brush, it was all good and so imaginative! I guess my favorite part is just hanging out with you. I love your way of chatting and talking about the things you are doing. You are the friend next door that I wish I had. And I had to smile when I heard you say, "I'll Swanee". My grandmother and her sisters used that expression a lot. I don't hear it much anymore. Have a blessed week. Looking forward to your next video.

I love it when people get creative and use imaginative Solutions.they I continue to watch your video I am grinning from ear-to-ear, when you came up with the idea of making your own old paintbrush! Everyone around here used to make brushes out of heather when i was growing up. Same as you did but with heather. Used for sweeping the hearth. Whitewashing the walls or for spraying crops against blight.
I'd love to have some heather to use for that!! I wondered if I could pick straw that grows near my house, but I don't know if it would shed too much or cause allergies

Hi Marla, you are not ridiculous, you are creative, and that whim turned out nicely. My favorite was the straw hats, and how you displayed them. The children's books in the suitecase I love it. You could put jelly beans or m&ms in the bowls or maybe potpourri. I tried taking things off my walls, but end up putting more stuff back up lol🤗you have a wonderful weekend, and God Bless you♥️Take care Brenda
Aw, Brenda, you made my heart happy! 😊 ❤️ My whims strike unexpectedly and I do giggle at myself, the audacity of making a picture light out of literal trash is pretty funny 😁
I don't know how I didn't find your channel sooner! I love your projects and I can identify with so many of the things you say such as disobedient dogs. I subscribed now so I can't wait to see more of your content. Thank you!
You'll see my most disobedient doggie, Ella, in a thrift haul video I recently posted, where Ella nearly scared the living daylights out of me: ua-cam.com/video/zPtMt82oyEY/v-deo.htmlsi=1ffgBQaNMwBzRuek
Maximalist! I am one also! My husband said he would have to add on an addition to the house so I would have more walls to put stuff on because there’s no more wall space. I said, “OK!” 😂😂😂
As usual, super cute ideas! It occurred to me as i was watching that for your followers who aren't blessed to be southern, you might want to explain "I swanny". And when you were a kid, did the elders in your orbit say "they laaaaaw"?
I live in north Alabama and grew up hearing this term. Still hear it today! 😄 My roots run many generations deep in the Appalachian mountains. I always guessed "I'll Swannee" was a reference to the Suwanee River (south Georgia) but Google says: {The phrase "I'll swanee" is a Southern expression that comes from the English dialectal phrase "I shall warrant". When spoken quickly and with a heavy English accent, it becomes "I swanny". The word "warrant" dates back to the 13th century, and through phonetic assimilation, "I shall warrant ye" became "I swannee" over many years.} Not sure if that's where my people got it, but there are many Scottish and Irish phrases I still hear and use in this corner of the world ❤️ 😌
Did you know that the little unfinished wooden snowman figures look just like furniture feet if you turn it upside down (on snowman's head)? ⛄️ I found some tiny ones at Dollar Tree and larger ones at Hobby Lobby
Just found your channel. You are so funny. My daughter says the same thing. Mom you don't need to cover all the walls. I create anything I can't find. Or don't want to pay for.
Well hey, Donna! 👋😃 So happy to meet you! Let's just cover all the walls if we want to, since we worked decades to acquire our homes and we should decorate the way we want to! 💕
Fantastic ideas! Your imagination is on fire! I bet one of the things your hubby loves about you is your creativity....even if he might shake his head a few times...😂 That light is a very realistic dupe. I can't wait to try the paintbrush and whisk broom ideas. How about salt or rice in the little bowls? I love the way the grandkid's toys are easy to reach for use, yet blend in to your vintage decor. I am really enjoying this thrift flips series so much. It is definitely more fun than laundry, or dishes, or floors. 😄 But what I enjoy most is your commentary; unhurried, soothing, amusing and funny, and full of homespun wisdom....makes my day a little brighter! By the way, I too have places in my home that have unfinished projects that go "unnoticed"; and I have children who think I put too much on my walls and shelves. 😊 Thank you so much for sharing yourself with us and including us in your prayers. Much love to you and yours and have a great week. ❤
Salt and rice!! Of course those would be just right! I even have some pink Himalayan salt 💕 Please let me know how your paintbrush and broom projects turn out. Old spindles would also work really well and you wouldn't have to struggle to get the metal out 😄 I really think my new Dr and new meds have me feeling so much better that it's allowing my mind to flourish 🌿 As always, thank you for your reactions and very kind encouragements! I love you! ❤️

I don't know how I didn't find your channel sooner! I love your projects and I can identify with so many of the things you say such as disobedient dogs. I subscribed now so I can't wait to see more of your content. Thank you!
You'll see my most disobedient doggie, Ella, in a thrift haul video I recently posted, where Ella nearly scared the living daylights out of me:

I'm glad you found me! Glad to meet you! 😊 💕
You know how not to hit your finger ...hold the hammer with both hands😂
😄 how funny!!
Oh I just love you. You have a blessed day. Your my friend too.
😊 Thank you so much! 💕
Maximalist! I am one also! My husband said he would have to add on an addition to the house so I would have more walls to put stuff on because there’s no more wall space. I said, “OK!” 😂😂😂
That's a good man!! 👏 🏆 😄
As usual, super cute ideas! It occurred to me as i was watching that for your followers who aren't blessed to be southern, you might want to explain "I swanny". And when you were a kid, did the elders in your orbit say "they laaaaaw"?
YES! my Mimmie would say, "they law, they help my time!" And I never had any idea what that meant!! 😄 🤣 😂
My Mema would always say all of that. When I heard you say it, my mind went right back there. Love it.
I haven’t heard anyone say “Swanee” in years I don’t know how to spell what a Southerner says for (I swear) love watching and listening to you
I live in north Alabama and grew up hearing this term. The word "warrant" dates back to the 13th century, and through phonetic assimilation, "I shall warrant ye" became "I swannee" over many years.} Not sure if that's where my people got it, but there are many Scottish and Irish phrases I still hear and use in this corner of the world ❤️ 😌
LOVE THIS but I think little feet under tray so it becomes raiser just my THOUGHT!! xo
Oh that would be sweet! I have some little wooden feet, and sometimes I use a large wooden bead as feet under small things 😊
YES I use beads and candle cups LOVE THIS idea great work THANKYOU!!!!
Did you know that the little unfinished wooden snowman figures look just like furniture feet if you turn it upside down (on snowman's head)? ⛄️ I found some tiny ones at Dollar Tree and larger ones at Hobby Lobby
My daughter and son says the same thing.
I remind my kids that they can have their own houses any way they want, but this is my house 😉
Crafting is like playing house.
✅️ absolutely! 💯 🏡

I even have some pink Himalayan salt 💕
Please let me know how your paintbrush and broom projects turn out. Old spindles would also work really well and you wouldn't have to struggle to get the metal out 😄
I really think my new Dr and new meds have me feeling so much better that it's allowing my mind to flourish 🌿
As always, thank you for your reactions and very kind encouragements! I love you! ❤️
❤😊
🩷🩷🩷😽!
Use dry cranberries in your small bowls. What about the seeds inside your pine cones? I dont know if yours are small oval seeds.
Those would be good! Or Sunflower seeds 😃
@@marlacainraisingcain What about dried pomegranate seeds? Or there is always pine cone seeds. That is if you can get them before the squirrels, lol
❤ I love this type of segment you're doing.I used to enjoy watching you when you were thrift.Ing, but then you got to where you couldn't go very good.So I got a new phone and I couldn't get you but I've got you now.I'll talk to you later.Thank you 41:55
Glad you're enjoying! The "shop with me" episodes, where I film inside thrift stores is less frequent, mostly because I find it so hard to film and treasure hunt at the same time! 😄 Here's a recent video of inside a thrift store:

I was thinking some dried potpourri...
Oh, that would smell nice! 😊
