Thank you for sharing about your house not being “esthetic” all the time and that it’s a normal, lived-in home with clutter and people and also beautiful vintage decor! Choosing to decorate around the clutter and everyday chaos is what I finally decided to do as well a couple years ago because quite frankly, my home will always be lived-in, not a museum. Expecting myself to keep a spotless, perfectly organized house is simply unrealistic. I just love that you’re so honest and candid! Thank you for posting your vintage buys!

I just found your channel ~ how fun! I am a Marla too!🎉 The quilt reminded me so much of my momma, she always quilted. Some of my most priceless possessions she made. She was illiterate but could sew clothes, embroider & quilt beautifully, the time it takes to do all that is surely a labor of love.❤️

Hairspray or maybe WD-40 might get that magic marker off the suitcase, I'll find that WD-40 will get just about anything off, sometimes magic eraser might get it

I thrift clothing just for the fabric. I just made a patchwork skirt out of a skirt and two dresses.

Those big cardboard “things” are called gaylords. My ex used to wonder why women thought it was a good idea to cut up fabric and then sew it back together again 😂

Marla, I also have a very small book jacket stash for books that were my mothers. I find the plain covers more pleasing, and for other reading books, what I do with book jackets is I cut the story synopsis and glue it into the front cover, then the authors flap, I cut to fit inside of the back cover and glue it in... So that IF I ever get rid of books at a a sae or donate people will still be able to see books description....Cannot wait until your valentine display

We had a hard time with our autistic grandson when he was little, but he graduates from college this spring. I am so proud of how far he's come. Yours look full of mischief but so precious. My ex husbands grandmother hand stiches quilts by hand tops and hand stitches the batting g and back by hand also daily and sold them and of course gave her kids that got married one. I passed mine down to my daughter.

I watch a lot of youtube of you lovely southern ladies and I loved the excitement of seeing them in the snow and enjoying "winter". We live in central Ohio and this past week our temps along with about 7 inches of snow got down to -17 and that isn't with the windchill, lol. t 63 I find the cold that when you you breathe in it freezes your nose hair is much less appealing than it used to be, lol

Lovely treasures, friend!!! An idea for the bottomless hen...you could mount it on an old cutting board with E6000, hang it on the wall and use it to hold an apron. I did this with a gorgeous floral antique chamber pot lid that no longer had the pot. Blessings dear friend!!!
