One major blunder there! "Not Fade Away" was written by and originally performed by Buddy Holly. The Stones just covered it. It was Buddy Holly who based it on the Bo Diddley beat, and the Stones just followed suit.
High Andy , I’m of an age that I remember the Stones from the beginning , which will gives you some idea, lol . They inspired me to pick up the guitar, and then girls and life took over, and my guitar took a very long back seat . I’ve been checking out your Chanel , l know or can work out the fretboard and know some of the basic cords . If I sign up for lessons what level would you recommend, Just a footnote I’m now 72 . Lol .cheers mate , Regards John
I just started watching your videos. Right now I’m learning the D major. I have hope that one day I’ll be able to play a full song. 😩 until then practice is key!!
Thanks Andy for your usual hard work and dedication to your channel. I do like it when you demonstrate a simpler way to access songs via easier chords. Great background info as well!

Well, that explains why their former roadie, the late Ian Stewart always told the Stones when it was time to go on stage by saying, "Right, me little free chord wonders - you're on!"

You genuinely can't copyright a chord progression too, it doesnt hold up in court. Therefore many songs use the same chord progressions again and again
Not fade away? Bo Diddly was one string on a broom stick. Bo Diddley took his name from that. Buddy Holly ripped it off and lastly Keith Richards ripped it off
Seriously, you do know Not Fade Away was a Buddy Holly Song, right? Not the Stones and had nothing to do with Bo Diddly. The one and only Buddy Holly. C’mon man
That's cause Richard's isn't that good of a guitarist , Ron Wood is way better guitar player but he's not one of the originals that's why Keith is lead look when he plays with Clapton, Billy Gibonns, and Chuck Berry then you'll see

Not fade away is a Buddy Holly tune and that’s the strumming Holly used.
merci good job body
The opening progression, I thought "Rolling Stones? That's Aimee by Pure Prairie League" Haha. I guess they all borrowed from someone before.
Two quotes come to mind;
"Talent borrows, genius steals"
Also "There's nothing new under the sun".
You genuinely can't copyright a chord progression too, it doesnt hold up in court. Therefore many songs use the same chord progressions again and again

Not Fade Away was a Buddy Holley number....
Does Andy really think that beginners can finger that barred B chord?
Satisfaction has a d-major.
I’d buy a shirt if you had a v neck option
❤📶
Not Fade Away is a Buddy Holly cover
Not fade away? Bo Diddly was one string on a broom stick. Bo Diddley took his name from that. Buddy Holly ripped it off and lastly Keith Richards ripped it off

A perfect example of someone who is clueless about musicianship. You not Keith, in case you are wondering.
Do it right. Sorry broski. I get its more beginner centric but you should learn the correct versions and tuning
Do you think he doesn’t know? He keeps it simple for a reason.
@@jmenden111 you know I thought about this after I wrote it. Agree. I should NOT be a music snob. Thx for saying that man.
