We have a jd compact tractor that’s 25 years old and it’s in pretty rough shape then I see international Titans and jd Waterloo boys that are a century old and wonder where we will be in 50 years
@@DrRust it wasn’t doing that before I took it off..I took it apart & cleaned it for the first time and when I put it back together that’s when it started
Take it back apart and make sure the float moves freely and doesn’t touch the side of the carburetor causing it to stick then check the needle and make sure it moves freely Then make sure that when the float is parallel to the upper body of the carburetor when the needle is closed
Got going right also when low idle lupping don't hear got right and when got high idle sounds cold throat got right on money and cap with distributor adjustment should be 3:30 clock on min hand be like on watch or clock ! And want running low idle and mixture screws on just went sound mellow no hard hit missing sounds for low and high! idles !
Sounds a lot better and you're right about running nit and getting it hot. It'll limber up then. BLESSINGS 2 U!
You too it already is running better I mowed a bunch with it
@@DrRust Can NOT beat the old rigs.
You’ve got that right
@@DrRust I've seen and dealt with the old and watched the new die outright. No comparison.

One of the nice features of an updraft is it takes a ridiculous amount of fuel to flood your engine.
Yes but if you do good luck getting it cleared out
@@DrRustcould you help me ,my updraft carburetor is pouring gas out of the air intake side
Your float is probably sticking try taking the carburetor apart and clean it up

I would assume this applies to all updraft carburetors? I have a 1980 Lo Boy running rich and adjusting doesn’t help.
Had a waited a few minutes I’d have heard that I’m doing it wrong. 🤣
@@wattsup8407good luck
Try lowering the float
I replaced the points and condenser on my W6. It doesn’t start now. I backfired when I tried to start it. Any suggestions?
Did you take off the plug wires if not then I would make sure the points are set properly and open and close normally
