@@JosieLewisArt I heard you say you put a layer down before gluing the pieces down. I just wanted to ask if you only put one layer down or was it more? I know you mentioned that you put down many layers once the pieces were all in place. This was truly beautiful. So amazing!!
That was amazing! Thank you for showing your process. I would LOVE to be able to slice the sides off like your husband did, that is genious and gives a professional finish. So cool! Love your work!!!
Love your work!💙💚💛💜I'm new to working with resin and have been doing resin pieces on boards for about a year but never thought to incorporate paper pieces. I used to do mixed media so this is a fabulous idea for me cuz I have stacks of magazines I've saved. Thanks for sharing and again, beautiful work!😊❤
It would be helpful to show to actual speed at which you stir your resin since you say going slow is very important. When that part is sped up one can’t tell how slow you are going. Thanks for sharing your creative process for this wonderful piece. I LOVE the end result! Awesome!
Thank you for making an easy-to-follow process! Plan on making a multi layered project and wanted to see how it was best done and this was incredibly easy to follow.
Josey this is beautiful! Thanks so much for the tutorial! Wow.I have got to try this. And I have lots of old colorful magazines that I was sure I could up upcycle somehow!
❤ LOVE this! Such a genius idea! Would you possibly consider posting a slower version, just of the part where you're placing pieces after each pour? Not in real time, but slow enough we're we can get a better idea of where and when to add, to help us get results like this. (It would really help with me, but ALSO I think it would just be a super enjoyable, relaxing video just to watch. Seeing a slower progression of that part... even for people who don't plan on trying it themselves) 😁
I have been doing some fairly rough hewn big pieces of magazine collage (6'x4'), so was drawn to this as I had been wondering if I could incorporate resin in some way. I am guessing I would have to go much smaller as it obviously needs containing and would be incredibly heavy and expensive to do at that size. Love the polished look of your pieces, the colour aesthetic and rhythmical nature of placing the paper is very much in keeping with my own but yours are like jewels in comparison! Beautiful work, very appealing and desirable!
So totally inspired by your work! LOVE IT! So I wanted to make something like this, but using guitar picks. My husband loves to play guitar and I thought it would be a great birthday gift. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Keep inspiring....
Marvellous indeed… This may sound silly but I am wondering how did you cut those perfect paper triangles. They are so many. Just scissors- lady, you are an epitome of patience. On the serious note, how did you cut all those triangles? Regards
Wowsers! How do you get your paper pieces so uniform? I imagine using a paper cutter, but still, they are amazing. Preparation must be the lion's share of these gorgeous works of art. Thank you for sharing!
I love this project! Unfortunately, I don't have a table saw as shown in the video-I think that's crucial; The aluminum tape will NOT pull off easily and your left with a sticky residue, probably from a combination of aluminum tape and the resin not curing on the sides.
What a stunning lovely piece. I agree with everything you said and did regarding working with resin, the pour, and the piece, except for resin manufacturer. I am not a fan of art resin or the company.
I love this. Do you think color swatches from a paint store would work? I did cut some triangles from some magazines but they are not as thick as national geo do you think that would still work. I'm just doing this for myself I hope you don't mind that I'm using your idea. I just think it is so cool and I have 2 gallons of art resin that has to be use up soon. Thanks for sharing your Art!
I absolutely love this piece, Josie. I have an idea for something inspired by this. I have a cpl questions, though. First, did the resin change the color of the paper? I thought that paper normally needs to be sealed before coating with resin (as confirmed by Jane Monteith). Also, was this piece very heavy when you were finished? Thank you. Beautiful work.
Yes, the resin will absolutely change the color of the paper, to varying degrees depending on what paper you are using. Testing first is always a good idea. You can also seal it with elmer's glue or modpodge. The piece is heavier than a painting on canvas, but not insane
I absolutely love your art it is so beautiful and the colors are amazing! I do have one question how many layers of the resin did you use one this one?
"The wine is... optional, I find that it helps" 🤣
Love this line and i would agree 👍
Your talent is off the charts. Your hubby is one in a million. Just in awe of all business successes that you two have built. You are truly blessed.
I'm grateful every day! Thanks!

Very, very nice.
I absolutely love your art it is so beautiful and the colors are amazing! I do have one question how many layers of the resin did you use one this one?
Did you glue the scraps of paper down to keep them from moving during the first pour? Neat process!
Amazing!
Awesome thanks for the tips
Wow...........are you able to mix one to one resin without measuring????
Love the video and your work! How long between your layers do you wait for the previous layer to cure?
Thank you, beautiful daughter number 1!
great video
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it.
beautiful, is the resin safe as a table surface after?
This is amazing!!!!!’
