Nice job. Those are some of the sharpest walls on a basement hole I've seen in a long time. Most people around here dig basements with a track loader and they dont look near that good. I like how neat and organized the job site is, it makes working on the site a lot easier when its organized. Well done sir.

That's a good looking( clean and organized ) job site . That turned out to be a great looking driveway . I love that footer drain form stuff, I have never seen it before, neat and efficient setup for building footers . This is a great informative video, so thanks Mike . I will be looking for the next videos to go with this one .

So glad to see someone that understands draining outside to a drainage instead of into a sump pit as is common even when fall is available some idiots don't,have never understood it either they are lazy or cheap. A bad deal for a homeowner if they don't be it crawl or basement put a drain to the natural outside sumps fail during storms because of power failure,a sump connected to natural drainage now that's a plus!

That looks so much faster and better than the old footers we always had to build by hand. Great video Mike and thanks again for sharing this all with us.
Great job on making the driveway look wonderful.
Every place I have lived in seems to always have narrow entrances and pull trailers and I've so many times almost lost them in the ditches. Now if I build a driveway I make them much wider now but most people dont do that. They think oh a car make this but never consider trucks with trailers or stuff like that. I wonder some times if the people dont think about that or what.

Mike I like the way your doing this job. It looks like a good quality work. I had never seen the form-a-drain product. I will look into that for some future work. I use the ground fabric a lot but not many of the other contractors around me do. I think it is worth the extra cost. The only thing I have a question about is using screenings/crusher run right on the cloth?? I usually us clean 3/4 -1 inch stone right against the cloth. I want to have the water drain from under the drive. I then finish with the crusher run rock on top.

    • @DirtPerfect

While you have the hi-hoe there dig a pond on the lower end slope and connect the rain spouts to it at a later date. Just a little idea to do now instead of down-the-road later. I'm not talking anything large, simple flowing pondless kit or a 12 x16 three feet deep , think landscaping now , little bit of a pain with my older home. I'm building a 20 x 25 shop now and evesatroughing big O pipe to the backyard to my little pond beside the garden. Thinking ahead will help. Awesome digging job , hope your building inspector is as great as mine, to bad he's retiring this year. Nice views from that home love to see it when done!!

About how much does a 300’ asphalt driveway cost? I have a large lot I am going to build on soon in SE MI and the house will be set back about that far. Should the job and quote include adding dirt like you did to account for compaction of the earth? Never thought about the dirt portion....just assumed that was made up with stone... I haven't seen any discussion of placement in your videos. When there were no blocks we had to "pull mesh", lifting the rebar into the wet concrete. As the apprentice, that was often my job... 😁

Great video ! So...those footer forms stay in place when you're done and act as a drain also ?

Do you use any kind of basin with that drain system (bucket with a pump in it) ? Where does the water go if you can not dig the crossover pipe to daylight... great video you guys do a good job

Putting your metal stakes on the inside of the fad allows you to get the rock around the outside and onthe floor. We use a telebelt to place the rock and concrete. Makes it alot easier and alot faster. Maybe a few ideas that could help you.

I can't believe that green system didn't have some kind of a fabric to go over the holes to keep the silt in the fines from going down into it but what do I know

    • @DirtPerfect
      @DirtPerfect  5 років тому +1

Depends on the dirt we add that form time to time

That tree pruner is a bit pricey for my budget...
Hadn’t seen the form-a-drain system before. Pretty slick.
Loved the rolling start on spreading the last load. (You do realize that if you were driving the truck would have stalled... tailgate hung... or camera burped.... don’t you?)

With the clay here keeps the mud out of the rock and the road holds up better to the heavy trucks

Make sure the rebar spacing does not hit the nudura web. There is a little flexability but better to do it right when setting.
