Could be used to hide the signaler from being seen from the press box.
Just my take on the manner

    Football fan for decades...
It's obvious what they are but it's nice to have it explained by someone who has first-hand experience. I'm still kinda in 'huh?' mode, but I think I got the gist of it.
Do the signals change from game to game? Are they seasonal? Are they the same for every college, every year?
    (He asks, half rhetorically)
    Thank you!

They can change. The trigger can change or some coaches leave them the same. Some cards carry over but you need to change enough that teams can’t pick your signs through film study. All of those questions and answers depend on the staff.

1 of the faces on the 6 image board on the Left is Michael Jordan at 9 minutes
That wheel on the right has Gatorade and Nike on it.
Rather than Tempo - which it could be, great guess.
Maybe the Right Board signals what IMage to look at on the Left Board
So Nike could be run the play that coorepnds to whatevr Jordan means a Fly Pattern or something and Goatrdae could mean that too. Gatordae could mean Jordan too.. but maybe to the Left instead of Right OR back to what you said the TEMPO you would run Jordan
Or more basically The Wheel signals what Image and the Image means a Play
The Movie Popcorn could mean an ACTOR or ACTRESS that is on that board (I can't tell who the rest are)
ALSO what are the 2 images in the Center of the Wheel? What could they mean.
Good video. I'm trying to borrow ideas from Football to use in signalng in my plays for Basketball which doesn't have to be as complicated. But If I can get a few ideas from you guys to use it will really help us this year.
We just need a few good tweaks to maybe win STATE this year. We will not be the top 4 favorites that get to state.. but we won't be the 4 worst teams there either. We have a shot. This is our 3rd year i a row making it (cause right now our Region stinks... so we could probably get there playing our JVs) IF we can improve just a little as Coaches we have a shot that won't be there again in who knows how long. .

Do you know if high school teams are allowed to do them for their play calling?

    • @EliteAthletesTV

Absolutely. I’ve never heard of a rule against it.

@@himom6966 considering how the rules can change state to state and levels of play your question is just dumb and frankly you shouldn’t coach if you don’t know the rules for where you could coach. Also, taking the answer of someone you don’t know that’s speaking specifically about college story boards is just stupid. If you have a legitimate question not specifically answered in your rule book it should be legal. If gray I would ask the officials before the game or directly contact the the body that governs your specific sports rules. Being ignorant of a rule is no excuse when a team suddenly has to forfeit all wins and titles due to a stupid coach.

We used no huddle in HS we didn’t have boards bc I graduated 16 years ago but it was all signals it was the formation then a color then a number…so if you think about Doing the “A” in the song YMCA whichever hand moves the coach is saying “tree right” or “tree left” which was trips then the color red was run, green was screen etc and the number was a hole for run plays. All of this happens in a matter of seconds

@@waynewayne9693 Actually, YOUR comment is dumb. 90%+ of the states with high school football follow the NFHS' rules. That's the National Federation of High Schools. Some states follow the NCAA's rules - Florida and Texas for example. The NFHS has no rule against placards (unless obscene or disrespectful).
