    This was an incredible helpful video; thank you!
    On a slight side note, have you ever done a video series where you full treat a whole room. If not, I would watch the HECK out of that!😄

    Etymotic in-ears for me. They're CLOSER to the ear-drum. I don't care about an artificially big soundstage. May sound impressive, but not useful for mixing and mastering, IMO. Which I do also on speakers of course.

    Hi,
    I have been following you and your videos for a while now.
    I really love you contents.
    While watching this video, I noticed the acoustic panel behind you, I love the design and would love to have one.
    Would be glad if you could share the dimension and materials used in making it.
    Thank you.

    Came here expecting "some" insights on mixing with headphones and how to get consistent translations. As the title suggested.
    Absolutely ZERO value on that front.

    I don't know if I necessarily agree with the point about getting headphones in the 300€< price range. Andrew Scheps mixes on Sony MDR-7506s and those headphones cost around 100€. Sure, the general quality of headphones goes up as you move up in the price range but there are exceptions.

      And Mr. Scheps has been using that same model headphones for years, freely changing them out for new ones. He has effectively "learned" how those headphones sound. He also does check IIRC on monitors which is fine. He and Fab Dupont discuss here: ua-cam.com/video/s4YuXNTCU2Y/v-deo.html

    I've been thinking about the fit of headphones too. Like, I have to wear glasses and that might cause leakage in sound and maybe affect my bass response. How would you evaluate the effect of glasses with headphones?

    Nice ad for Hedd lol - losing credibility with these promos.

    I use Sennheiser HD605...that were bought thru Sonarworks and came with a calibration frequency file for those actual headphones. They sound fantastic through the Sonarworks setup.

    What about DT990 by beyerdynamic? They are below 300 bucks but used to be pricey back in the day.

      they are great, although I am glad I got the 1990s which sound quite a bit more similar to my monitoring, especially in the lower octaves.

    Awesome video on a seldom covered topic!
    Side note: I did not recognize how comedically large those headphones were until you put them on lol.
    Your videos always make me smile.

    • @zerobject

      Agreed. The video is incredibly useless. No freq response graphs, no recommendations (except for a bit commercial price range advices along with Hedd advertising), no listening/analyzing hints. Besides, there are some headphones under €300, that have pretty nice freq response, maybe even better, than a lot of overpriced models do.

    • @dustman96
      @dustman96 2 роки тому +1

      @@zerobject Yes, that, but this has been a trend for a while now on this channel. On almost every channel really. At least some of them still put out good content and maintain their integrity while finding ways to make a better living. For many though, they just can't resist making that extra buck. It really is sad.

      @@chinmeysway What info? Did you mean to say infomercial? The field just seems confusing because there are a million people trying peddle their products acting like they are something special, but sound works on a pretty simple set of principles.

    1. You don't mix on headphones. You mix with them.

    • @GingerDrums
      @GingerDrums 2 роки тому +4

      No, mr pedantic, the heaphones are not a collaborator, but a platform which you mix on. they are not co-mixing, as in "I mixed this record *with* simon." instead, "we mixed on the NS-10" is the way engineers actually communicate.
