Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge on these old ford units. Very hard to find someone with the patience to even talk about much less show you anything on these! You're awesome dude!
This is cool. My Dad had to do this to a 57 Ford Fairlane 500 in like 58 or so. I remember going to a Ford dealer for the parts. Had a pretty 58 T bird on the showroom floor.
Thank You for doing this series. There are still a lot of us left that love these ole Fords. I still have a garage full of these old cast iron monsters. I remember a problem with the center support cracking on the main case ? So I started to stockpile T-bird and Galaxie units. If you ever decide to start rebuilding these again. I would be interested , and if you need any parts , I have em ! LOL Take Care Buddy !
I'm glad it helped. Good to know you have these old parts. I honestly don't run into a lot of people these days that want to spend any money on these old transmissions unfortunately any more.
This is a great video working on old Ford transmissions. Not much info out there. I am reviving a 56 sedan with air cooled converter. The transmission worked fine when parked. Looking forward to your part inspection/assessment and assembly. Thx
Jay better you than me lol, I did a roto-hydramatic slim jim that had 2 torque converters, one inside it...what a shit show...we took it back out and apart...everything was perfect....it feels like one giant slip....lol
I'm glad you got to put it together because I wouldn't know what I was doing it not a c4 and I have a question about c4 valve bodies I know this is a different videos but the tabs that come with the valve bodies do they need anything I have a black a green and a red little table on the three valve bodies that I have
I ordered what must be a small for 66 rambler. Bw12 was the number on my larger cast case. Fatsco set me up with the right stuff after everyone else repeatedly sent me the wrong stuff

Thanks I appreciate it. You do need patience for these old units that's for sure.
Jay I've rebuilt a pile of them in my life time since '73 !
I feel sorry for you. Haha IM sure back then it wasnt so bad because you could at least find parts for them back then.

I can only imagine a time when you could buy parts for these at the dealership.

This unit is pretty similar to your air cooled trans. I'm glad it helped.
You missed dinner. You're going to be in trouble when you get home.

That's an odd transmission for sure. I have never been asked to rebuild one. Thank God.

It's a different beast than a c4 for sure. I honestly don't know how Ford coded those tags.

Fatsco is a good source. We don't buy much from them anymore since our sales guy retired. They treat us like 2nd class citizens now unfortunately.
Hole in the story , What was the symptoms ? What failed ?
I was never told if it had a problem or not. The car is being fully restored and they just wanted a fresh build on every component.
