  • I now move on to the second suspect in my investigation, the leaders and the politicians in my series on The Corona Virus, The Mysterious Affair of Covid-19. Have they acted illegally in arrogating extraordinary powers to themselves, even perhaps to the point of undermining their constitutions?
I focus on the UK and consider the matter with reference to the law and the views of a distinguished judge. I also consider a dubious plot of my own, in order to escape the small Swedish town of Karlskrona....

    THE SERIES:
Senior lawyers and the Judiciary have been surprisingly silent on the pandemic, with the notable exception of Lord Sumption (linked below). Yet it seems that at the time key decisions were being taken, there could have been no harm done by taking a clinical look at the evidence, in order to assess the seriousness of the virus:
--Was the decision of the UK government to lock down the country justified and had a proper consideration of the evidence been taken, not only of the seriousness of the virus but of competing factors, such as the long-term economic, civil liberties and long-term health impacts?
--Was the Swedish approach more proportionate?
--Was the Polish response a success?
--Even were lockdowns justified, should they have been lifted more quickly?
In this vlogumentary series, "A Lawyer Investigates: The Mysterious Affair of Covid-19" a British lawyer, while on a visit to Sweden to visit a client, finds himself drawn into a travel adventure and investigation of the Corona Virus controversy. Through interviews with regular folk, on route from his Warsaw office to Stockholm, he attempts to solve the puzzle of its sudden appearance and the world's reaction to it. Is there more of a mystery than we realise?
    REVIEWS
"Just sat down with a cup of tea and watched your latest video...,. Really enjoyed it. A lot of the questions I've been asking. Loved the builder at the end!"
"I just watched your series of UA-cam videos about current situation and was glad to see 'a cool-headed, clinical view at the evidence'. I am also perplexed how this is possible, this lockdown, all restrictions. I thought UK would be much like Sweden, evidence-based (re)actions."
"You gave many great examples how to interpret the data, especially that the data can't be served in absolute, little telling numbers but in the relative terms."

I agree it is no guarantee. But it is a bit of a red flag to my mind when governments are riding roughshod over their constitutions and abandoning proper processes enshrined through centuries.

I’m enjoying this series but why so long since the last episode?

Weight of work unfortunately - I also lost my editors and had to do it myself. Producing a documentary is quite different from a normal vlog. It is incredibly time-consuming. Huge numbers if hours have to be spent on editing and I do not have funding for the project and have to do it outside working hours. But this was also an episode that was very tricky in terms of what it was I wanted to say and I had to spend a lot of time on research. There are about 4 left as I return to Poland and draw conclusions. Hopefully they will be faster to completion...

@@RedwoodLegal Thanks for replying. Hope you can get some help with the editing etc. There must be a load of out-of-work editors out there that could volunteer some help. Anyway, keep up the good work. I like the style of the documentaries and your presentation.

    So the word lawyer means

So why would a man or woman require a mouth piece to enter into contacts. And that man or woman does not consent or have a say in..
    who would wish that ??

I do find Fauci an interesting character. He seems to smirk too much, rather like Hancock does. And Schapps. And Patel of course.

@Home One - You are an example of someone who is stupid.
To smirk or not to smirk...that is not a question.
Smirking is irrelevant to his ability and professional credibility.
Furthr it your opinion whether "He seems to smirk to much"...I do not find he does.
Focus on making an informed opinion on the facts of each person.
Example : Fauci is an interesting character because he does not lie, misrepresent the truth and is seen to work in the public good. While Hancock, Schapps and Patel regularly lie and seen to work against the public good.
SEE HOW MUCH MORE RELEVANT THAT IS TO YOUR WORLD VIEW.

Yes , and I actually got a whole episode removed recently, which was a real surprise as it was not really controversial and meant to be a comedy interlude!
