59:50 This is so very accurate on the truth. This is pretty much what I was back in the past. I used to copy or at least what I called myself able to copy painting very accurately from what reference provided. While this can be useful for improving thecnique and skill. But it has flaw. And the flaw is just like what you said. It takes less imaginative skill to do. I literally just rush and wanted to be quick by just using reference. But when I wanted to draw from my mind or from imagination, it is very very hard to do. I ask myself why can't I do this. It always turn out shit or very different from what I wanted. I literally do this copying things for over like 5 or 6 years. Without reference, I don't know how to paint or draw. After researching what's I'm lacking then I realize that I don't have the one most important skill for drawing which is Observation SKill. The skill to breaking down to simplify shape or form from reference. THis skill is pretty pretty important and will help drawing imaginatively in the long run. And possible to use less reference too if our visual memories are good enough. I'm glad I shift mine practicing to learn oberservation skill to this date rather than practicing copying things over and over.
Sorry for long the rant. And thank you for sharing this insight 👍
